BTW do old leaves that have had a deficiency ever recover or do they remain blotchy, im thinkin it was a manganese deficiency but unsure. Bump.
You know i don't think so. If I the rest of the plant recovering I go ahead and snip them off. What a lovely profile Pic..
Cheers

Nah it was going a bit mental, then i chose to try and clean it , this is the cheapo one i bought for last grow, seem ten a penny from japan lol~http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120625967216&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT. 4 lights started flashing instead of 2 then when i put it in solution- nothing then .2 light flashed to say failed. took the sensor off it and it wiffed of old molasses with a slight wiff of electrical/ old battery smell so think the water tight sensor was oh so NOT water tight :( Just paid for an Essentials pH tester that looks a bit more robust and all the uk hydroponics shops seem to stock it so cant be all bad im hoping :D

I like the promise of it being 'robust' ~

Ok so i've bitten the bullet and finally got round to tying some of the plants down, the Pineapple chunk and LSD were getting kinda tall, and from other peeps grows i've seen , thought it best to exert some height restriction early on :D lol. I've started off conservatively, only exerting a slight bend but will aim to tighten up a few ties if needbe. I've left the Euforia alone, simply because its staying rather compact as is, and also raised the seedlings in hope they catch up a bit lol:D

Heres some pics, i've countertied the stems so hopefully there wont be any stress fractures or uprootage ( crosses fingers). Let me know what ya think or more importantly if its been done right hehe:weed:

Nice thick stems Agent!!!
I do a bit of bending and tieing myself and it looks to me as if you've done it right.
But DST is the Master...
Have a great week

Hmm what to do now, im in a dilemma, i really want to flowering to end by xmas, last grow (ww) took 13 weeks and even then i think some of the buds could have gone longer. So the question is when to start these. LSD takes up to 9 weeks apparently,Euforia about 7 ( which knowing my luck will be longer) Pineapple chunk flowers in 7-8 weeks ( probably also optimistic) and of course i chucked a ww from last batch into the mix so probs 13 weeks on that one perhaps lol ( unless its male ofc as its only one not fem). More of the dilemma actually surrounds the point that the slow ass seedlings that took over 10 days to germ are well behind the rest, so do i wait for those to catch up a bit or just bang the rest into flower and let them take their chances ( as i havent got another room to put em in). So baring in mind i want to have some smoko for xmas im thinking about flipping no later than 2nd week in October- (2 weeks away). I may have a strain that wont finish in time but that can carry on in there so long as i get something before :D Good plan you reckon guys?

thanks

Edit: perhaps switch in one week, otherwise timing will be tight.

Bump, thoughts anyone, or any peeps grown strains b4 to give me accurate flowering times of these as oppose to what the seedbank says :P

Sounds Like a solid plan. But I would start in a week for a little buffer..
Sorry I don't keep track of fany flower times, I was taught that they are done when the microscope says they are done.
I took some down a little early once and made some folks a little upset they didn't get quite the kick they were used to.
Cheers

Yeah im kinda resigned to next week, just worried about the seedlings being under vegged at switch but tbh its their own fault for being latecomers and not germing at the same time so they gonna have to do lol. I think they all had a bit of transplant shock as they havent really grown as noticibly since. However the bigger plants have started to kick into action since starting LST- quite a bit of new side growth coming now, just hope i havent been too severe with tying em down. Im crossing my fingers that i have as good a yeild as last time, then ill be happy :D

just checked calender and plants are a month old. Little disappointed as they seem to have been a little stunted, not quite sure why, possibly transplant shock? or fimming? LST? ( hmm perhaps i have been a bit severe lol) :wall:The seedlings that came up late are 10 days behind but them too i believe should be somewhat bigger! Seems the plants have become confused and put all energy into the stems~ they are pretty thick as you can see! lol Just given thema good dose of water with low dose nutes to see if that stimulates them into life, and moved em outside for a few hours to bask in the Rare sunshine - although to be fair the side growth is starting to kick in a bit.

Think they look under developed for age? comments welcome and appreciated.

Many thanks

Looking good yes pineapple chunk will grow for the heavens as soon as you put them under that hps. other then just how fat your leaves are they appear very similar to mine. what is your humidity and temp. the plant does clone well I did not do anything right as far as keeping rooting hormone on plants or scraping off the lower section of stem and they still took after about a week.

hey,

Temps in the 60's amd humidity around 55-65. Im not going to clone simply because i dont have any extra room elsewhere to put them so that will be a plan for next time around i reckon.
Flipping to HPS next week.

thanks for stopping by :)

To Be honest maybe a little stunted but that doesn't mean it was you could just be the seed... Temp Looks Good. Humity looks good for Veg.
I remember reading that when plants are flipped to Bloom they will continue to grow for 3 weeks...You'll be fine.
Just Opinion Now, Maybe you should consider letting them just dry out really well. I have done this and the benefit have been AWSOME..I love to water to, I awlways want to try to help........................

Yep no more watering for a while- i attempted a half arsed flush other day with about a litre per plant expecting to see some run off so i could measure the pH of the soil- however nothing came out the bottom! I expected something! there is big drainage holes and stones at the bottom, so god knows why nothing came through. So yep no more water. Also got my new pH stick today- bit confusing too so im not totally gonna trust it. I have a cool box that i keep my water in to let it sit and evaporate the chlorine off i adjust the pH with cider vinegar ( cos i wanna be organic) which seems to lower it fine but when i tested the new pen out it had a reading of 8.2!:!: might have had a hint of 'veg nutes' but strange as my water sits from tap at 7.2-7.4- go figure? the vingar alone sits at 3.2 so im really scratching my head over that one- even retested the pen with callibration buffer to make sure, but i digress. Flowering next week so ill let em dry out til then.

Thanks for stopping by with some advice :)

Ok so ive decided to switch to flowering, only to have a few problems along the way- Upon using my new Son-t with my old ballast i used last grow, i noticed a nasty smell upon turning it on after 10 mins it started flickering then off! I figured it was the ballast so went ahead and bought a compact ( if not bloody heavy) maxibright one. It has arrived today so will be putting it in tomorrow and i cross fingers it will work fine with my reflector and bulb. With the problems i've had, and with the plants sitting in prolonged darkness- then on then off in aa brief moment, i've started flowering with my Cfl's ( 4 days) and have tied my PC down anticipating the mighty stretch. Funnily enough the former runt of the litter( Euforia) is starting to bite back and starting to grow and bush out nice, the seedlings are being a pain in the arse ( not really doing much and showing weird leaf problems) and the others are plodding along with side branches kicking in from the LST ( which i may have tied down too much). Im not sure about my leaf problems or whats causing it, maybe nute burn maybe pH. The problem with my pH is that it seems unstable. Generally my H2O sits at around 7.5 i use cider vinegar to lower to 7 then add nutes and molasses which bring it down further to about 6.6. About right i thought, but when i check the treated water the next day the pH creeps back up despite having the vinegar added- so i have to keep adding more then repeat the steps of adding fresh nutes per litre jugful. So is this normal and is adding vinegar to my water standing in a cool box going to be of any detriment?
In particular my problem is with the seedlings and some new growth in that it appears dry , wrinkly and crispy with brown tips to the leaves and some weird patches like the protective film on leaf has been scraped off a little- hard to explain but did wonder if bugs were playing a part but im not so sure as looked closely and can see nothing.

See what you think, comments welcome.

Hey Agent,
They look good, careful with messin with that PH to much. Sometime you get to much shit in the water and lock some nutes out.
This is how I do it
Water
nutes
PH
Now when I PH I don't put my PH adjusters in the water with the nutes. I take a platic coffe can, get a scoop of water from the resivor, add PH adjustors, stir well add to the resivor and test the PH, if it needs more I repeat till I get where I want to be. I used to add the adjustor right in the water but you can lock some nutes out.

I add the Vinegar to plain water not with nutes and get that right first before adding anything else, so i have a resevoir of plain water that sits at the side. I only add nutes to what i scoop out of the resevoir and feed the plants per 1 ltr jug at a time. So when i recheck the resevoir ( that i treated only with vinegar) the next day its back up as if nothing was in there at all ! :( So i read some info about using Vinegar and i've been informed that vinegar is unstable with regards to changing pH & only works as a temporary ph adjustment. I guess this is why it keeps going back up, so if it is doing that in the res then i guess its a similar story in the soil? Is there any any other more stable ph adjustor i could use? Lemon juice- would that be any better? Or is there an organic one on the market? I really would like to stay totally organic if possible :D

On a side note i fitted the ballast and its working great- light came on- no problems so far ( crosses fingers) Plants seem to love it already :D
