Oh I should also point out, that I have 2 OG Kush plants, and its only 1 that is displaying these symptoms. The other one is fine, Can't see one problem at this time.
Check out the red stem on the other plant...siliate will cure that, that red stem is a bugger....

It's probly not your soil man.
sounds like a fungi problem.
black spots, leafs dis-colored.
caused by high humidity, high temps, no air movement.

That what I use Mr West...Epsom salts will cure that..Mr West, is the rate 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water?? I can't remember..
I believe its 1 TBS per gallon

The other one has a red/purple stem too. I am curious if its just the strain. I asked in general Marijuana if anyone has grown OG Kush but only got a smartass reply by some duchebag.

I remember you hemlock, you were around when I first joined these forums.

I glad you remembered me Brother, hope I helped..all you can do is pass your experiences along.
Just a thought don't know how close your light is but if its close maybe raise it up to relieve the strain...

Yeah its been awhile. I have been away from RIU for some time. Its nice to be back.

The light (400W HPS) is about 10 inches away from the light. I would think if it was heat or a fungi problem that it would also be the top leafs showing symptoms. Its only the lower leafs so far. Hopefully it doesn't look any worse tomorrow. We shall see. I did do the Epsom salt. If that doesn't help Im gonna do a big flush. Then I will go from there.

i grew a purple kush that had purple stems..

alo are your other 2 plants in the same soil??
Besides the one I am having problems with there is only 1 other OG Kush plant. Yup its the same soil. Both plants are being fed the same also.

Thats why I figure I would ask because its normal for some strains to have purple stems. I have never grown OG Kush so I don't know if its normal or not. Just trying to narrow it down and figure out exactly whats going on with my plants. Guess now its a waiting game. See what happens in the next day or two. I gave them the Epsom salt and for now its out of my hands.

I grow a lot of OG Kush and get purple stems, in fact I get worried if they don't apprear.

Ok, so you mentioned your soil is compact, perhaps this is the reason. Your roots might be getting suffocated! Try taking a knitting needle or something like that and poke holes into the root ball allowing air in. I am convinved it has something to do with that. If I harp back to my Jade plant, this is exactly what was happening. So perhaps if you stop watering and let the root ball dry out, create some air holes in it by gently poking a knitting needle in, and then water again when you see it is dry......

Well it seems that those red stem indicate some sort of stem rot, Verlithium rot?? Not sure..Anyway I had one that looked about like the one in these pics. I nicked it and pulled it off the stem, Kinda of like a skin of sorts, Killed the plant, however I found out that those purple skins on the stems actually go down to there own roots...

OK, well not saying its heat, maybe more light intensity,, maybe pull it up say 20 inches away for just for a few days, Kinda like a cloudy few days in nature...

Thanks man. I will do that for sure. This morning it doesn't seem like the problem spread to any new leafs. Maybe the Epsom salt worked? The others that were infected did get worse though, it just didn't spread to any more leafs.

As I said before, this is exactly why I don't like getting cuttings or plants from other people. To many problems

That is a possibility, because my flower room really isn't that big and there is a lot of light in that little spot. Never had a problem with light intensity before, but its possible. Im gonna try everything to correct this problem. I will move the lights up a bit.

Thanks for all your responses everyone.

The problem hasn't gone to any other leafs since I gave it Epsom salt. However on the leafs that are already infected it is getting worse.

So far this is what I have done.

Given 1TBS Epsom salt per gallon of water.

Raised the light to 13 inches above the plants.

We will see what happens and go from there. I hope the problem is solved.

Here are a few pictures taken today. (Notice how the veins are still green)
After looking at these pics and seeing the green veins I am almost certain its a Mag Def. What do you guys think after seeing the update?

Yeah, it shows better in the picture then it does looking at it in person for some reason. When I seen that it made me lean even more towards the Mag Def. Thanks man. I hope its fixed soon too. Going to take a few days before I really know. Just going to monitor the plant closely.

Does anyone else have a opinion after seeing the updates pictures? It would be nice to hear someone say yeah, I agree, or no I disagree and this is why.

looks like to me some of the leaves that wern't to far gone starting to recover. But as you know time will tell. If it was me I would remove the bad leaves, they can't be helping the plant...Just my 2 cents....
