This is just a random, crazy idea of mine but you guys tell me what you think. I've been advise that my girl would do better in flower in a 5 gallon bucket as opposed to the 3 gallon pots she's in now. You know, making plenty of room for the roots and what not. Instead of transplanting to a bigger pot, what if I filled the bottom of the existing pot with lots of small holes then let the roots grow outta the pot down into this bubbleponics setup I have. Am I crazy or could this be a good or at least interesting idea. Here are a couple pics of what I had in mind. If this is a dumbass idea please tell me so, but I can't see y it wouldn't work. I also know that just b/c something works doesn't mean that it works well. I'd love some feedback.

been doing this for a couple weeks now...had a party cup grow going..i had it sitting in a net pot in my dwc..not to get water..just a place to sit it under the lights...the roots started growing out of the cup...so i cut bigger holes into and and duct taped it to a net cup....after a week the roots exploded...so it can be done.but i had major ph issues...your having to control 2 areas...the ph of the soil and the water.my ph went from 5.8 to 7.2 and torched it a bit..but got that back under control.and it also seems to keep a brown tint to the roots....guess thats from the soil...cause my water is still crystal clear..so dont freak out thinking its root rot

as it comes to the roots growing into a res...yeah that works...but my plant has went through a lot since changing it over.it was going strong and healthy then outta nowhere it went to shit fast...but it had to be the spike in the ph....and also i was watering her 2-3 times a day...now i dont have to water it at all..the soil stays wet..i guess the moisture travels up the new roots into the soil...so its hard to maintain a ph in the soil.its a really tricky way to grow and im learning more about what works as i go along...but ill never do it like this again.im growing dwc only from now on.never planned on making this plant a dwc plant...but after the roots shot through the cup..figured it needed the room anyways...and anyone that knows me or follows my threads knows that im more about testing new methods then picking the best method and growing.sure i could toss a seed in some soil,water and nute it...but that gets old...its more fun building new stuff and trying new things...you dont get many that do that..when they find a good way to grow..they stick to it...that bores me.

Here's the pic update as promised, the staking went well with kandy. I think this will help produce more buds now that everything is supported pretty good.

I started a flush on angry midget two days ago, I'm probably going to chop her this friday. Lmk what you guys think!!

I'm thinking I'll probably start to flush Sb around friday when I chop Am. She seems to be about a week behind so it should work out well !! Oh and they do look like cousins

hey smelly im interested in how the kk smells right now im guessing it would be sweet and citrusy but gimme some details so i can drool on on laptop have u seen the ghs flavor wheel i use it to describe anything i get it has a very wide spectum of flavors on it. its just for greenhouses strains but usefully when trying to describe smells and flavors

do you mean your gonna reveg a couple branches to keep the strain around, maybe because you didnt clone her? im curious because im doing that tomorrow with a strawberry cough that i have in flower shes been in there for 30 days and has big buds already. i didnt clone her though and she smells exactly like a damn strawberry so i gotta keep her around. im expecting it to take 2 months to root and begin to grow.

No I havent seen that chart but now I have thanks to you and someguy I would have to say mostly citrusy when I rub the stem but the buds I can't really smell yet.. That damn angry midget and starburst are both very stinky though so thats probably why lol.. I'll try to pay more attention next time I pull her out and give you a better description after looking at that chart stoned for a few minutes lol..

Thats exactly what I ment, my bad lol. Sounded like I was taking test buds haha.. "Monstercropping or whatever its called." I was actually scoping a few out earlier that look perfect! I'll let you know if I decide to take some, if I do it will most likely be tomorrow. If you decide to take some lmk how it works!

BTW, what are some of the more experienced growers in here's thoughts on an extended dark period? I haven't tried it yet but I was thinking of maybe trying 36 hours on the angry midget if its really worth it.. The only thing is a cant really compare it because I've never tried this strain before and I don't have any clones?? Thanks for any input and you guys already know I rep like a mad man lol..

Alright, I narrowed it down a little more haha. If I had to pick 3 words to vaguely describe it right now it would be sweet & spicy with almost a peanut type aroma. Its a very unique smell that it has right now but hard to describe.. I'll hopefully be able to give a better description when the buds start putting off a little more of an aroma and the other juicy fruit girls are gone lol..

ok treeZ, i just did a search and read 7 different things from 4 different fourms and sites and the consensus is, its a myth. when the plant reaches the end, thats it, no more, no less, it is what it is. so now im not sure if i will even mess with it, but you may still want to try???
