the first sentence doesnt make a lick of sense, there is a big difference between private companies bending the will of govt to their interests against the public, and the public bending the the govt to the will of their interests against the private owned companies. you're saying republicans don't use government to enforce their will no matter what atrocities stand in their way (i wouldnt consider raising taxes 3% for the top 10% an atrocity, maybe iraq but ok)
you are obviously too stupid to realize governments, companies, and corporations are just people and all are capable of tyranny. Its a shame fox doesnt tell you that. you are also too stupid to realize fox news is fascist propaganda using ignorant people like you to use your vote for the will of the super rich.

I can tell all of your information comes from fox news and shit anyone who actually knows what a fascist is just laughed at you.
This is exactly why having these discussions with you progressives is such a joke. You "strawman" every single point brought up. I see it every single day on here and it is usually the liberals doing it. "all of your information comes from fox news!" and "you are just parroting glenn beck!" Oh and there's the ever popular "It's all Bush's fault!". If you guys were sooooooooooooo uber-smart like you claim to be, you would recognize that your strawman arguments are the last bastion of the desperate. Trying to discredit the source of information, especially when you have no clue who watches or listens to what (I find it funny how you are so familiar with fox news! Hypocrite much?) is about as pathetic a debate tactic as there is! Oh, I almost forgot, there's the name calling! That really shows how smart you are! After you were called out for using the ever popular liberal slur, "redneck", you continue to attempt to use that pathetic debate tactic! And to add insult to injury you started a thread asking if it was ok to have sex with a 16 year old?????????????????? Then you come here calling conservatives redneck?????????????????? lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Credibility fail!!!!!!!!!!:dunce:

.....you still didn't have shit to say about what is actually bad about a public option
since you seem incapable of searching out any of the numerous threads that have been posted on the subject, i'll make this quite simple for you.

first we'll start with the fact that it simply isn't government's place to engage in business. our government was not instituted to sell its services, but to protect the rights of the individual. we pay our taxes for the necessary upkeep of the various bureaucracies needed to provide those protections and then take responsibility for purchasing the rest of our necessities from the marketplace. we clothe ourselves, we feed ourselves, we house ourselves and we seek out medical attention, along with any attendant insurances, for ourselves. these things are not rights that the government is charged to protect, but the comforts of society and the duties of the individual to provide for himself.

next we should probably discuss the lie that a public option is merely a form of competition for the private sector. what insanity is this? the private sector cannot hope to compete with government. the state does not depend on the laws of the marketplace and has access to the proceeds of taxation to make up for its shortfalls. there is no necessity for government to engage in practical policy when its failures are easily hidden within the billions it collects each year from its constituents.

this inexorably leads us to the incompetence of government. we find no greater waste than that found within the bureaucracies of government policy. from the perennial shortfalls of the postal service and the social security administration to the rampant corruption of the welfare system and medicare, we see nothing but failure after failure. it does nothing well but wage war and even that is filled with graft and favoritism. when faced with the prospect of collective bargaining, it's constant position is one of capitulation under all but the most dire of circumstances and it is always the people who are forced to pay for this lack of common sense. government is driven not to excel, but to please the greatest number through mediocrity and playing to the baser desires of the majority.

it is the drive for profit that most proponents of the public option state as the most grievous sin of the insurance industry, the idea that some would make money from the misfortune of others. what they fail to admit is that industry without profit is charity and that is the domain of neither business nor government. they seem to have forgotten that health insurance is not a magic get out of jail free card. it is a matter of preparing yourself for life's eventualities. it is gambling that what you pay out in premiums will be less than your future medical bills and guaranteeing any needed treatment for yourself and your family. demanding that insurers always maintain a losing position in such a gamble or that the taxpayer be responsible for the medical bills of his neighbor is an unethical intrusion of government's force into the personal responsibility of the individual.

yes, my problem with the public option is a matter of ideology. personal responsibility and the supremacy of the rights of the individual are important enough that the intrusion of government into the private sector should be seen as a court of last resort. when limited regulation is all that is really required, such intrusions are nothing more than a power grab. the liberal agenda, including the public option, is one of expanding the influence of government and the majority while decreasing the rights of the individual and the abilities of private sector industry that enable the individual to succeed.

think most are uneducated and not paying attention to the issue...
These folks aren't liberal they are PROGRESSIVE, meaning they value all opinions.... unless they happen to conflict with theirs. Maybe you should put all the non progressive in a gas chamber then you wouldn't have to listen to them...oh but then who would support you?

you right i didnt read that piece of shit. the fact that you did shows how much or a dumb redneck you are. you don't know anything and you still haven't answered my question about the public option. the fact that you are against it shows you are not a real conservative, your just an ignorant redneck rush limbaugh fan.
The only question you asked me is whether I read the book, which I answered.

And your response further makes you appear ignorant for criticzing something you could not be bothered to read.

Wow! You really are angry.

By the way, when the name calling starts the discussion is over. And the one who starts the name calling is admitting they have nothing further to add in favor of their position.

Well played.

Redneck is a lot less offensive, and rednecks were not once slaves in this country.....

And Fitch, most people are dumber having read your posts..... is this your version of no child left behind....?
Why would people be dumber after reading my post, everything in it was factually true. Not one thing I said was false you can't prove me wrong. So the only conclusion I can draw is that you're highly offended by facts....? John Boehner comes from the fastest growing district in Ohio, one of the wealthiest as well. Ohio is one of the most populous states in the union and contrary to your ignorant beliefs of Ohio being nothing but farms and hicks he is not a redneck and doesn't come from a redneck area. It's funny how open minded and tolerant liberals are until you disagree with them and they start calling you names like 11 year old grade school children (for the guy talking about beating rednecks). And thanks for telling me what I can or cannot find offensive, So just because whites weren't slaves in this country means they can't be offended by racial slurs? I can't wait to tell my Kraut mother or my Mick dad or my Guinea friend they were getting upset for no reason.

i just skimmed over what a few of you tea baggin rednecks said basially you still have no good reason to oppose a public option, think deregulation is good beacuse you ignore facts and think bush didnt do a shitty job cause again you ignore reality and support anyone the propaganda machine tells you to.

These folks aren't liberal they are PROGRESSIVE, meaning they value all opinions.... unless they happen to conflict with theirs. Maybe you should put all the non progressive in a gas chamber then you wouldn't have to listen to them...oh but then who would support you?
yeah us liberal fascists we should all go to the gas chamber. I asked you people why you dont support free market competition and you still couldnt give me a real answer proving you don't think for yourselves.

and johnny, there are plenty of books written by conservatives that I would consider reading, but since you read glen beck im just not going to take you seriously, that and because of the things that you say. I know what glen beck does, im not stupid like you. But i do have somthing to add why do you oppose competition between insurance companies?

from now on i will only reply to under the ice

ok but why do you think govt should stay out of business? I thought I understood the logic behind that but apparently you dont think govt should stay out because it fucks up the free market which does the whole competition thing you just think government should stay out but give no reason just some malarkey about the what
I think there are lots of cases where govt should not intervene with business, but then why do you propose be done about the insurance companies working together to fuck the consumer and keep the prices high, how does that a good thing why is that nessesary for the government not to intervene in this instance. you are okay with private entities controlling the market to their will without competition but the government shouldn't intervene it and even when it stimulates competition because "it simply isn't government's place to engage in business. our government was not instituted to sell its services, but to protect the rights of the individual." thats your answer? HOW THE FUCK IS A PUBLIC OPTION INTERVENING WITH BUSINESS? WHAT DO YOU THINK THE POST OFFICE IS, does that intervene with fexex and ups? shipping prices are FUCKING GREAT! govt protects the individual by breaking up trusts, we have always had anti trust laws to prevent this kind of shit its the you ignoramus, the government can do whatever people want it to do. the oligarchy uses govt all the time to its advantage, why do you think pot is illegal? I'll bet you think its okay to bail out big business if they need it right?

all of the stuff you said about govt charity has nothing to do with a public option, you were just rambling. a public option would a non profit insurance company not charity, it wouldn't be free. now again, how would a public option negatively impact things. https://www.rollitup.org/politics/383963-how-would-public-health-insurance.html#post4895924

you call that bested? did you even read what he said? johnnyteabagger you haven't offered an opinion about anything yet, why are you even talking? you dumb redneck teabagger trash. he reads glen beck books lol.
I offer plenty of opinions. I can't held responsible if they go over your head.

You announced you were bested as soon as you started the name calling and insipid insults.

So the discussion is over.

Now is the fun part.

If I am the Teabagger, you must be the Teabaggee.

Open wide. :-P

Better yet, why don't you get back to that booger collection under your desk-top?

The angry liberal didn't like my comment about the cost of health care. My question is IF health care is free, who pays the Doctor? Who pays the Hospital for your stay?
How is this free system going to work? I would really like to hear you expand on how this system works

i should probably feel honored. so why is it i feel that i'm entering into a battle of wits against a completely unarmed opponent? your semi-literate ramblings are getting more and more incoherent and you simply dismiss each perfectly valid reason with pathetic cliches like insurance industry conspiracies and "the government can do whatever people want it to". perhaps we should throw away the constitution so government can interfere in everything. would that be more to your liking? you have the audacity to bring up the postal service, one of the great black holes of government invention and an entity that continues to both charge for its services and drain the federal tax revenues. i'm surprised you didn't bring up the failures of public education as an example of the proper operation of government. maybe you'll be able to rope in a lofty intellect to match your own with this new thread you've started. i, for one, don't have the time to waste on fools who simply ignore reality.

we are talking about a PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE OPTION, in a socialized system taxes would pay for it, like the military. I think it would be great if heathcare were affordable but its not, our system blows ass if you arn't rich.

it would suck to have a healthcare system run as poorly as the post office or the military though(sarcasm)

I've never owned or read a Glenn Beck book, or seen either of his television programs.

How can you know what Beck's opinions are if you do not read his books? I sincerely doubt you watch his TV show or listen to his radio show either.

In fact, I would guess that you simply get all your Beck information secondhand from some Left-wing source.

If I parrot Beck, as you assert; some examples are in order.

I do have a theory why you despise Beck and Limbaugh so much - it's because they are effective.

They make Liberals like you spit nails and eat your own liver.

And I think it's hilarious.

I tell you what, I'll read what I want to read and you do the same.

I really don't give a shit what you choose to read.
