Does anyone use cfl lighting with a led? Im using an 180w illuminator and the buds on the top are nice and thick but i would like to add more lighting to the sides and bottom of the plant to maximize the yeild. My plants are about 3 to 4 feet tall and the led light just doesnt reach far enough to penetrate the lower foliage. I currently have 1 big plant in a 5 gallon pot and 9 in 1 gallon pots in a 2x4x7 tent.

Oh yeah, if anyone could recommend what kind of cfl lighting to use that would be great.

LOL, I don't know you personally, how was I supposed to take it? I took it for what it was worth because I didn't see any smilies or other comments other than "traitor".

Definitely add some more side lighting. I would use the 8.5" reflector dishes that come with spring clamps and screw a "Y" socket into them and use two bulbs. Stick with 6500k bulbs and 2700k. You can mix them, or use 6500k for veg, 2700k for flower. :)

I use 4 T-5HO fixtures mounted vertically in each corner of my growlab. They're inexpensive at $24.95 per fixture and put out more light than a cfl. With 3-4 foot tall plants those might help you get light to all parts of the plant.

This is the Perfect time to do this i must say......PIC_0754.jpgPIC_0747.jpgPIC_0746.jpgPIC_0752.jpgPIC_0755.jpg theses plants here turned out to be over 6ft tall and had to be bet to fit, they were grown under two 300 watt LED panels all self cooling and ranged around 300$ each. I had to figure out the perfect Nut formula to do this cause the future is here and it does work just do the damn research and put some time into it and anything will work. PIC_0803.jpgPIC_0804.jpg these last two pics are of a test subject that was grown in a 3 gal pot out/to in to flower indoor and we slowly bet over every time it decided to rotate up, try this its crazy shit man hahah well.

im not all that impressed with those sorry to say it seeing as how i use led's too and use about the same amount of power. Led's just arent meant for a 6ft tall plant i mean look at the size of your cola's dinky to say the least. I think if you would have kept them shorter you could have gotten the same yield only you would have had nicer lookin nugs. LEDs not for tall plants =( try shorter guys next time maybe you can pull some larger nugs the potential is there you certainly have enough power to do it with. And i do agree the future is here these thngs have my cuts lookin sooooo sick right now after only 4 days on the table all noded up hard.

I agree with you fully about keeping the plants short. With the amount of Bud Sites LED's produce, theres no reason for tall plants.

yea you just end up with skinny buds still bomb but just skinny so keep em shorter and fatter more bag appeal you know

? When you say 2700k do you mean lumen output. If so I found some at home depot that are 2600k 150 watt equivilent. Do you think that will work?

Has any one heard of the new hydrofarm (kessil h150) led lights??

Check them out in my signature!!! There the newest in led technology, they have a 35watt diode instead of only 1-3 watts.

im about to start growing for the first time and im thinking about trying out LED's because my grow space is going to be kinda hard to cool down.
im looking for days on ebay and other sites for something simple and not too expensive that can cover two plants.

i've seen some UFO's that i think can work out for me but im not sure about the brand and the quality.

my budget is kinda tight. plus delivery can add up another 40$..
300$ is way more then i can spend on a 90W..

anyone know's any other LED's that don't go over the 200$ and ship worldwide? (israel)

I was the same way when buying lighting, trying to stay under $200. I went with a 90w ufo led from WFPTECH for $130 and $25 shipping to alaska. I got real lucky and they accidently sent me their 2011 model! I was wondering why in their ad it said it had only red and blue leds, but when i plugged it in it also had 5 orange and 4 whites.
