Your chances increase for every person you tell. If its just you, then tell no one, even if you have those occasional friends that kinda hang out for a week or so. Tell no one.

If you are growing 2 or 3 plants, ignore these fuckers about the choppers picking you up in infrared. I have fishtanks that have been pumping out MH light heat for years, even before I thought about growing. My house alone puts out enough heat too probably get me busted, but I only have 8 cfls for my plants, the rest of the heat comes from my tanks. And if you drive by my house at night, just about all the windows in the house have a blue glow from the lights. Dont freak out man. I know I have enough heat to get picked up from the heat, but the minute they walk into my house they will see why. No big deal, they will see tanks with massive lights on them.
 
A guy in my area got popped because someone kicked in his front door and did a home invasion on him. So he called the cops and when they showed up the cops found his operation. He had one room upstairs in his house for vegging and one for flowering and one for drying. All full of weed. This guy got popped because too many people knew about it and robbed him , he called the cops on himself. What a dumb ass!!!

I would love to see polyshield episode on MYTH BUSTERS. Cause IR is a wavelength put out by heat. So the best bet is to build a room inside a room...prevent the floors or exterior walls from absorbing the heat put out by the light
 
Dont tell even those you can trust each person who knows you and your doing you just increaded getting found out by 50%.

Look at it this way, you getting caught depends on you. If you have a stoner friend, and you and him have been friends for almost your entire lives, tell him. If he gets arrested, and he brings you up, it's your fault. The basic rules are as follows:

Don't go major, and choppers can't pick you up.
Don't run your mouth, and you won't get mentioned.
Don't do stupid shit, and the cops have no reason to come to your residence.
Don't let people see, smell, hear, or find out in any form or fashion that you have a personal grow and you won't get blackmailed.
My personal favorite: If you don't grow, you won't have to worry about any of it, but we all know that isn't an option eh?

It is just simple common sense that keeps small time growers from getting caught.

I think you are saying that the courts ruled that using heat guns was legal by cops. This is not true. It was deemed illegal. Cops have to have probable cause to put heat guns on your house or the evidence will be thrown out. Now, if they are looking at another house and your house just happens to be in the line of site, well then your fucked. However, heat guns are easily defeated. The guns dont penetrate walls and look inside, they only read heat the reaches the external surfaces of your house. Insulate properly and vent your heat out of a incospicious spot such as a chimney or air vent, and you wont have a problem.

That's true, but those choppers that are black and fly over areas sometimes, they aren't cops but they are thermal imaging choppers, it is actually your state'e drugtask force, and it ISN'T illegal for THEM to do that. BTW venting out the fireplace is a hella good idea, kudos to you.

has anybody heard of "anti-detection foil"? anyone know what this is? i can only imagine if you could get your hands on some teflon

You could simply pump your hot grow room air into a mini freezer.
If you stick a load of bicarb or carbon into the freezer it would cool your expelled air and get rid of any smell.

This ones only 50 odd cm by 50cm or so,so you can put it in your loft and pump your expelled air into it.
Leave the lid ever so slightly ajar with something to trap it open just a smidgen so the air can escape after its cooled down a bit.

You would also have to cut a hole in the front of it for your air piping to fit in though.:blsmoke:

No, I am not saying that ALL black choppers are DTF, I AM saying that ALL DTF choppers are black. Big difference buddy, think before you assume and then laugh.
 
Sorry to say it, but some of you guys/gals crack me up!!! Yes they have heat imageing. But!!! is will not tell them when there is a small grow.. Like (2) 1,000'rs and less. Your Oven, your fireplace, your hot water tank. You kiln, your........ All throw of as much heat as those lights. And stop growing during the hot summer months. When growing a small crop indoors, there is only one way to get busted.... STUPIDITY!!!!!!!

Their is not a black helicopter that circles the sky, and when he spots your house, he says,, HEY!!! that house down there has a 400 watt HPS light with 4 Mary Jane plants!!! Now they might think someone is growing, so they go check it out and say.. Holly shit. that Garage has 15 Hot spots, lined up in three rows... That must be a grow operation.

Just my thoughts on the Matter.. If this had been a real Emergency, I would have told you where to go.

No, actually, they only scan areas that have a history of heavy drug production, and for a few other reasons.

You are so right, they actually only call flags on houses with abnormal heat temps, or houses with abnormal heat temps in single rooms, or like you said, abnormal heat sets. Such as 15 heat spots in one room.
