If you can read my thread from the beginning..... I AM NOT DOING UNCLE BENS TOPPING..... People please read ahead before you post NON SENSE... This forum is really PISSING me off with all the NON SENSE.... READ between the lines...
I read the thread and know you are not doing UBs technique. Like I said, all you are doing is topping and randomly trimming...growing a plant with 4 branches. We were trying to help you get better results...

You are topping and randomly trimming, nothing else. UBs tech actually redirects the plants growth hormones to get a prescribed response.
So you knew I was not doing Uncle Bens technique then why did you post this... You assumed I was doing uncle bens technique... I hate liars.... But thanks for trying to help...

I am trying to FIM a baby plant to get (4) tops on (1) PLANT... I used a razor blade and did (1) CUT where the new growth is starting... Look at the pics in the 2nd post of this thread...

Here's what I was getting at. All from the first 5 pages of UB's Topping Technique post.

UB

"Yeah, but you'll get small colas and not necessarily dominant ones, just bushy as hell. Your typical main cola on the typical plant is the dominant branch or leader, just as a dominant leader (trunk) on a pecan or oak tree would be. Top (pinch out the top of that leader) and you have just redistributed the ho moans to points (dormant foliar buds) below the cut, which makes for multiple leaders."

1. FIM is not reliable regarding predictable results,

2. No one seems to agree on just how to "FIM", and no one seems to understand why it does or doesn't do what it supposedly does."

UB
" Being that there are two leafsets at each node during veg, and there are dormant foliar buds in the axils of where the petiole attaches to the "trunk", then each node = 2 foliar outputs WHEN THE AUXINS ARE TRICKED INTO BEING REDISTRIBUTED TO THOSE SITES. IOW, when you cut above the 2nd node, you'll get 4 outputs - 2 from the first node and 2 from the second. It's when you get above 3 or 4 that it becomes iffy regarding the outcome. You'll find the typical forum advice for topping is around the 7th node. Why, I don't know."

Talk about not reading a post. I'm the first guy you revved on in this post dumb @ss! If you had read UB post(like you said you did) or even the quotes I left in my last post you would've gotten a clue. Good luck with your experiment.
Dude are you sure you are on the right thread... Read Title..... Nothing says anything about Uncle Ben... FIMMING

Sorry, but "FIMMING" was added after I made my first post. While I'm in an apologetic mood, I should have said 16 tops instead of 4.

Took a look at the plant and there is new growth coming from the top of the plant... It looks like (2) new sets of leaves are coming from the top set of fan leaves. Then there is new growth coming from the top of the plant... It is looking like there will be (4) tops... I am thinking maybe (6)... There is also growth from the bottom set of fan leaves... I am going to say this plant might have (6) tops when said and done...
Week (2) will be on 01-02-11

I will be posting weekly pics...

UB topping technique?...dude have you even read that sticky? so what exactly are you doing topping or fim'ing? if i have a seedling i will just used UB topping technique then on its vegetating stage i would do the fim'ing...that is why i think its called FIM because its "FUCK I MISSED" topping my seedling...so all i can do now is FIM'ed (fuck i missed) it. i got 4 colas doing UB topping technique...i wouldnt even call that hes technique since a bird did that for me

I dont believe he said that at all, you read it compeltly wrong.

And you should listen to people like UB they know what they are doing.

You are just trying to do random stuff to a plant to see if it works out, most likely u will stress the plant and cause it to herm out.

WOW another person that CAN NOT read... I am not using uncle Bens technique... PLEASE read thread before you post NON SENSE... I am losing Faith in this Forum... Whats up with the stupid ass non sense from people that likely know nothing about growing marijuana just know how to half way read through things and guess the rest of the time... Thanks for trying though... BAHAHAHAHAHA
OMG STFU ur so annoying why are there so many arrogant trolls on this site now, what happened?

I am loosing faith in human intelligence, have fun FIM'ing your plant or using UB's technique. What did you think your were making a huge discovery?

So now I am a liar? Not sure how you came up with that but at least I am a liar that has a clue about growing....Good Luck on your random rookie venture...

I don't know why everyone calls it Uncle Bens technique... It is called topping a fucking plant people... By topping a plant you will naturally get (4) tops or more... Ok now everyone understands topping... Fimming is completely different from topping... Fimming is more of an experiment because you will could end up with many variables... Fimming is when you cut about 75% of the new growth on the top of the plant to acquire (4) top oppose to topping where you cut between branches at the stem... By fimming the plant will have (4) tops that will grow together from the beginning oppse to toppping where you will have to likely train your plant to keep (4) tops... What I have noticed with topping a plant is the (2) top branches grow alot faster than the other bottom branches thus you hav to train the top branches to slow down or train the lower branches to speed up... This is why I have decided to experiment with FIMMING... Its a new technique to me and I think anyone knows how to top a fucking plant so people get over it.....

Its actually easier to just top above the 2nd true node, than to FIM. Ive done both. See pictures of my blue mystics with 4 tops in my signature. It tells you in uncle bens tutorial about this.Topping just above the 1st true node gets 2 tops, 2nd gets 4, 3rd gets 6. My super Skunks had 6.

+Rep. Good luck. Looking forward to pictures.
