Looks like the OG Kush used in the strain was the Tripple Og.

Banana Kush = Sensi Seeds Banana x Tripple OG Kush

Some cool OG Kush history :D

Story #1:
OG Kush (the original cut) came from an S1 from in a bag of '91 Chemdawg in the Lake Tahoe area in 1996.

Story #2: (by Kailua kid from sierra seeds:)
In late '93 John from Grass Valley Ca. got the Chem Dog cut. He shared it with me, Jerry(cowboy) from Dibble Creek Ca. and Harold(Putz) from Sunset Beach Ca. Putz had a male he called the secret ingredient. It was a cross of Lemon Thai and an Old World Paki Kush. Putz bred the secret ingredient to the Chem Dog. The buds that came out of this cross were going around So. L.A. county in '95. Someone told Putz that Kush must be so good because it was mountain grown. Putz laughed and told him "this Kush is Ocean Grown Kush bro". The tag stuck and it became known as OG Kush. In the spring of '96 Putz married a girl from New Zealand. Before moving there he sent cuts of his OG to me and Bob(beans) in Salinas Ca. He gave all his P1 stock and all the remaining seed he had to Mike(mad dog) from Downey Ca. In late '96 Mike sold some seed to some guys in the Valley. That's where the San Fernando Valley cut of OG comes from. It's like the Original only more sat in pheno type. Mike sold a cut of the original to a guy in Orange county and that cut is called Larry today. It's still around Orange county. Mike sent one other cut of the original OG to a breeder in Europe. As far as I know he never let anyone else have it.
Jerry bred his Chem Dog cut to a Humboldt county indica boy. This was the beginning of his cubing proccess. At BX3 he got a pheno that had all the smell, taste and kick of the Chem Dog, but in a pure indica pheno. Jerry gave this plant to Bob. It became known as the West Coast Dog.
Bob bred this plant to my Old World Kush male. He took a male from that cross and bred it to the OG cut Putz had sent him. This is what made the original Bubba.

Lineage: ChemDawg x [Lemon Thai x Old World Paki Kush]

Info on the different cuttings of OG Kush:

* Tahoe: cut brough into the community by Swerve. The grower that Swerve got it from had sourced the cut in the Lake Tahoe area in the 90's.
* Larry: The Orange County Larry cut that is availble in the medical scene came from the same Orange County crew that the H.A O.G Kush came from
* SFV: There are a million O.G cuts grown in the S.F.V, however the cut that goes by this name on these forums and in medical disp. came from forum member Swerve
* Ghost: This cut came from ORGNKID, ORGNKID had sold a O.G cut to a Overgrow forum member named "Ghost" who further distributed the cut.
* Tripple OG: This cut came from ORGNKID. This cut is A.K.A Triple X/XXX O.G Kush. Triple O.G was popularly sold to medical patients by the now defunct C.A.L.M disp. of Malibu.
* Abusive: This cut was brought into the community by an overgrow member named "Abusive", believe it or not Abusive claimed to have got the cut through the rapper Snoop Dogg.
* SAC#2: Cut brought into the scene by forum member O.Gkushman, O.Gkushman got the cut from DJ Muggs.
* P.R OG A.K.A Private Reserve O.G: Another O.G cut that ORGNKID brought into the scene. The cut was sold to Med patients as Private Reserve O.G through the now defunct C.A.L.M disp. of Malibu.
* Apothecary: O.G cut brought into the scene by the apothecary seed co's Brett. Brett got it from a high profile Medical MJ activist in L.A back in 1999
* Diablo: This = cut came from the R.D.C disp. In the San Fernando Valley
* Raskal's OG: Another cut sourced in the San Fernando Valley. Cut was bought for several thousand dollers from ******* ***** members by a friends of forum member OGraskal
* HA OG: Cut came from an commercial H.A room in Orange County, grown by the same crew that brought the Orange County Larry cut into the medical Disp.
* Poison OG: Cut came from O.Gkushman, he grew it from seed found in a pound of O.G back in ‘96
* SAC#1 & SAC#3: #1 came from G-Thumb in the San Fernando Valley, #3 came from San Fernando Valley but is very popular in Santa Barbara and sometimes goes by the name “Purple O.G Kush”, the cut was brought into the scene by the owner of the now defunct Hortipharm in Santa Barbara

Looking good there T0rn. That Panchota is looking gorgeous! You really seem to have a grip on the nutrient mix as all your strains look healthy.
Are you running different levels for different plants or are they all on the same mix?

Here's a quick look at my 1000w Multi-strain Medicinal Grow. The Chronic of mine is looking like it wants some more Potassium, and the Sensi Star needs a truck load of micro-nutrients, but other than that it's all good in the neighborhood. I just though it was cool because we're doing basically the same thing in a lot of different ways. I'm on Canna Coco with Canna Nutrients plus some extras. We're fellow frontiersmen around here.

Just read your posts.
Interestingly I know a guy named Mike who I got some baller Banana Kush from just recently. He goes by Big Mike and Mountain Mike, but might be this Mad Dog as well (he's kinda crazy). I'm from a Valley, near Salinas, but not the San Fernando... I know he knows a lot of breeders and has been in the game since 92ish. Famous in my area for his growing skills. Definitely an OG Kush kind of guy... Might be the same dude. I plan on picking up his BK cut in March/April 2011 when I go down for a post harvesting visit.

That'd be cool if I smoked that cut of BK you have now grown out by Mike himself. Who knows though? The stuff I had was like a sweet but earthy flavor. Like Banana-Walnut bread. The expansion once it hits your lungs was incredible. You can really feel it spread from your lungs through your body. Definitely an indica kush kind of feeling, but with that kind of Haze "lost" feeling.

Great story man. Good read.

Just because you asked for it before.

Watered today; 20ml Botanicare CNS17 Bloom, 2 ml Hydroplex, 1ml Superthrive per gallon. Took 2 1/2 gallons to water the 5 plants in the 2 gallon pots to just some dribble runoff on each. Hand watering all the way here.

The Giesel is in a 5 gallon pot and is sort of on a different schedule, no need for a watering today.

Does sound funny hearing that name. It came from a seed from some Rootbeer Kush (never heard of it before, can't find info on it) from a local dispensary -LA Area. My buddy would always pick this stuff up exclusively for a while and loved it, was fortunate enough to catch a seed in one of the nugs once. It's only been alive for about 37 days now and is taller in inches than it is old in days. At the end of two weeks you can tell these purple leaves are going to grow out and I can't wait. They're starting to frost up a bit too. Deep purple striped leaves, clones in bloom nute soaked rockwool in 10 days, nice strain all around, might want to keep it :D

I've had some Banana Kush from a dispensary in Long Beach about 4 months ago. It really did taste a bit like bananas, then that lovely earthy kush taste. I remember the calyxes on it being huge as I broke it apart and it had a sort of light tan hue to the green.

I like how he kind of talks about the full lung feeling that you were talking about.

Oh definitely dude. Sounds like you got EXTREMELY lucky finding yourself a female plant from a single seed. Especially because you enjoyed the smoke.
I like that you renamed it. Calling it Rootbeer Kush wouldn't really speak to the genetics. It could have been impregnated by a different plant and could be a very interesting F1 cross-strain. Still looks like some fire, especially purpling up like that so young. The whole thing will probably go over time. I'm in awe you lucky duck.

I was lucky enough to find some Big Bud seeds and some Mr. Nice seeds from my local dispensary, and had the thought of just breeding them together. I've been growing out that for a while but haven't quite found the purple sativa-leaning plant with the stronger Mr. Nice genetics. That stuff was purple and fantastic and my genes have mostly leaned towards the Big Bud genes. there is something about having "your own" strain that brings a whole new love for the hobby.

Yeah, the calyxes were really cool. They did that thing where they start stacking off of the nug so that it looked more like "spikes" rather than a smooth round nug.

Sounds like the same stuff. NICE!

I've found some seeds in some mexican stress. I'm guessing the typical mexican pineapple sativa. Hoping for a male on one of the 3 to start my own strain up.

Pineapple x Kryptonite anyone? I could work some stretch into that plant.

Breeding is what gets my mind turning all the time. I always wind up coming up with these devious plans of finding some quality land race genetics... Maybe some Durban from Durban. Some Columbian from Columbia. And then working up my own thing, try to hone in on mutations and just breed, back breed, and maybe introduce stable strains like Skunk or Haze, until I get it right.

Then I put together a time table and it's like a 5 year project to really do it right. Maybe some day, when I'm running a false LLC to clean my cash... At this point I'd be happy just to offset my 2 gram a day habit and have a little something on the side. I got some bunk genetics from Nirvana and had to suffer through a 1/2 harvest last time around.

This Lemon Skunk Blue Mystic grow didn't go as planned... The Lemon Skunk came through, and so did the Cole Train, but the BM took a BM on me.

Decided today to only flower 2 of the Hog, that way in 2 weeks from now I can hack up the last Hog and the Green Crack for some clones AND continue my perpetual throwing those 2 in.

Have a weed-erette (Romulan and Lemon OG) ready for midnight tonight!

We roll our own cigarettes with a large metal rolling machine (the nice heavy ones with the lever) so occasionally I roll joints with it. Couple nice things about these, they have a filter and you can place a little tobacco at the base of it so you can tell when the weed ran out. That way there's no roach and no weed was wasted.

Happy early new years everyone! :joint:

The Lemon Skunk from Greenhouse Seed Co. is something I'd recommend to anyone interested in a flavorful Sativa dominant Skunk. No kidding about the lemon, it was like smoking lemon pledge. Not exceptionally harsh though. The Cole Train was sweeter tasting, stretched a ton during flowering as is typical of Trainwreck.

I wound up with 4 seeds from that grow. 3 from the Cole Train and one from the Lemon Skunk. They are all in my new multi-strain grow, and all 4 are female. Fun stuff. Gotta love having a mix.

Too bad you didn't get a male dude. Those would have been some nice genetics to hold on to.

I'm glad you said Durban Poison earlier. I got my hands on some at the local dispensary a while back and I kept buying it till they were out. LOVED it, something about that black licorice smokey sweet taste.

I'd like to get my hands on some, but I'd have to flower at like 15" so it wouldnt take over my grow room, I hear they like to stretch big time.

ps- eyeballing this J, smoking some bowls to the Laker game waiting for midnight.

Haha, thanks man, not for another 7 weeks I'm afraid.

I'm going to be using this harvest to quit smoking cigs. Every time I have a craving I'm going to chief the fuck out till I forget that I wanted a cigarette. I figure 2 weeks of that and I'll be though the tough part of the physical addiction. I just hope I don't smoke myself retarded.

:leaf:
lol i know right? im on day 19 of not smoking cigs...its rough
