I apologize if the harsh light of reality hurt your feelings or bruised your tender ego but things are what they are.

But that doesn't mean someone with a more modest budget is forced to only grow and smoke the dime a dozen 'flavor of the month' strains that some breeders turn out faster than rats reproduce. They can have better for roughly the same price of for just a bit more.

If someone goes back through past HTCC winners, not only 1st place but more particularly 2nd and 3rd place winners, a fair number of them are still offered by the breeder. Their genetics are still of as high of quality today as when they took 2nd or 3rd place Cups and most to all of them are better than the dime a dozen 'flavor of the month' strains so many people now purchase. Because the older winning strains have some years on them they are not well known by many today so they cannot command as high of a price as they did in the past, and that puts them more in line with the crap being cranked out that so many people purchase.

There is this inane belief among many that newer is always better, that there is a slow but constant improvement occurring in strains from year to year, when that is in fact not actually happening. Many wrongly believe that something older cannot be anywhere as good as something newer, even if the newer comes from some WalMart quality breeder with rollback pricing.

Some older winners, even 2nd and 3rd place winners, are still do good that they are not going to be found at bargain basement prices, but some can be or are close enough that if it takes waiting for another paycheck or two before ordering seeds is what it takes it is worth waiting for. It would be a better value than purchasing some garbage strain being pushed by slick advertising copy filled with dubious claims or some third rate knockoff that carries the name of some famous strain of the past.

Many people would be better off looking to the past and researching than jumping on the new 'flavor of the month' strain from some pollen chucker who keeps throwing dry dirt against a wall hoping something will stick and who does not deserve to be considered too be or called a true professional breeder even if a time or two they lucked out and turned out something decent. Even a blind squirrel will find a nut now and then.

There is no need to agree with me because I write messages that are longer than one or three lines nor because I am incapable of expressing myself monosyllabically so certain people here would then be capable of understanding what I write.

I offer sound information and sound advice but if you or anyone, or for that fact everyone, decides not to accept it they are fully within their rights to do so. If they would prefer to not learn and would prefer to not be helped that is totally cool and the gang with me. I can fully understand your personal opinion. I am a rough old cob and I will tell it like it is rather than how it 'ain't' and how it 'ain't' never going to be. I began getting high in 1968 and have grown since 1972 so I have a fair bit of knowledge and experience to draw on, something that is vastly lacking in many here, and being the rough old cob I am I will always call a spade a spade and I have a low tolerance lever for ignorance and I will not suffer fools gladly.

If you do not care to read what I write might I suggest that you make use of the ignore function this site offers it's members. Add me to your ignore list and you will never again see another of my messages and you will no longer be at risk of learning anything from me or being offended by my blunt manner of communication.

Well Mr. Capital Letters ... the only strains that came from Green House Seeds that deserved to win Cups, back when Cups were won my merit rather than glad-handing and passing out more freebies than other breeders and bribing judges and lobbying, were won when Shantibaba and Neville were involved, when Shantibaba was co-owner of Green House Seeds and Neville was co-owner of the Green House Coffee Shops and they worked together doing the breeding for Green House Seeds.

If Green House Seeds is so spectacularly gifted then explain why after Shantibaba moved on Arjan was reduced to attempting to bribe judges to win one year and was banned from the competition that year?

When it comes to Shantibaba (Mr. Nice Seeds) part of the Green House breakup was he had, had enough of Cup competitions and had no interest in entering any more of them. Arjan, who did not breed and only handled the marketing and business end, wanted more wins for the fame and fortune that went with it. Shantibaba sold out his share of the business and opened up Mr.Nice Seeds and did things his way. Roughly two years later Neville sold his share in the Green House coffee shops and since those two occurrences nothing truly impressive has come from Green House Seeds regardless of a couple of wins.

But only a true puppy would believe that in the most recent years that most or all Cups have been won by true merit. The HTCC has been slowly losing credibility for years now and has become a lobbying contest, a place where whoever passes out the most freebies has a leg up on other competitors, a showplace for marketing and advertising ... and no longer anything at all like the old true credible competition is once was.

There is no teen or someone in their 20's that knows more about growing than someone with nearly four decades of growing experience unless they are the "Doogie Howser" of the horticulture world and have a PhD in horticulture and know plants inside and out, top to bottom and knows every single plant need and function and how each is related to and dependent on the others.

I'd bet your wunder-teens don't even know there is more than one type of chlorophyll, how many types there are or what they are called let alone anything highly technical about plants. I doubt if any of your wunder-teens know what plants rely on and use each needed mineral element for, as in things like what element is necessary for transfer of energy during metabolic processes and in what form or forms it is taken up as or how many amino acids are found in plants that form protein, cystine and methionine. How many of your wunder-teens know all about the ultrastructure of secretory cells of glandular trichome heads?

Yep, I'm sure the youngins you know are true experts when it comes to plants.

"Monstercropping" was the term used when i take a clone off a plant thats in flowering stage. It's supposed to make the clone 'bushier' than the mother plant. Smell is of no concern at this point. Not being the biggest indica fan in the world I might not be the best one to answer your question. You have a good one there in White Rhino, at least if it is the real White Rhino as in Medicine Man. I have grown White Russian a few times and have to admit I enjoyed it. I have never grown Sannie's Herijuana but a friend did and I sampled it a few times and that is one you might want to give real consideration to. I grew Reeferman's Cherry Bomb Indica, a California indica crossed with Jack Herer, and I liked it but it did have a strong Haze sort of high with the indica stone and I am not sure if that is what you are looking for.

A small handful of times in the past I grew Sagarmatha's Slyder and Mangolian indica and even though both are mostly indica I did enjoy them but I am sure the there are a fair number of strains out now that you would prefer so if you are compiling a list of maybes if you add them you might want to place them lower on your list. Both managed to win Cups, not 1st place Cups, and I would grow them again, but I feel sure you could find ones that have surpassed them if you are looking for true killer indicas..

In that you are an indica fan and I am a sativa fan you might want to keep your eyes open for a true lover of indicas and ask for their opinion. Their tastes might run more in line with what you hope to find.

Given your setup I might consider trying SCROG whatever you pick. I think you will be pleased with your results. I have a nephew who does a CFL SCROG in a fridge and of course I always joke him about it since I am NOT a CFL person and like to grow taller bushes but he does rather well.

Not to seem any more argumentative than I already appear, nor to drag this out any longer, but the more you know about plants the more you understand them and the more you understand them the more you tell what is going on with your plants and the more you can avoid problems and the more you can get out of them. It is like anything else. The larger your knowledge base is the greater your chances are of being as successful as possible become.

What really saves many growers and makes them appear to be successful is cannabis plants are rough tough resilient plants that will take a licking and keep on ticking. For all the problems we see on sites like this that would give the impression too some that they are fragile plants they can really take a lot of abuse and still give someone a decent return. Their toughness and resilience makes a lot of growers think they are better than they are when it is largely the plants themselves that deserve the credit.

I ordered 2 varieties from attitude. KC Brains 42 and AK-48 from Nirvana.
And I recieved a couple supposed bonus seeds.
Every seed sent to me was tiny and looked exactly the same even though they supposedly came from 3 different sources.
They produced nothing but scrawny leggy sativas, that you might find along a Kansas highway. No smell, bad internodal spacing, tiny buds.
I have been growing 35 years. Not a rookie.
I always had good luck with Canadian sources and wish Stairway to heaven was still operating.

hey dude !! if u want Canada seeds try "Ontario Seed bank" they do shipping to all Canada there based out of Toronto they are across from my college haha i went in got a mixed pack of 11 seeds fpr 45 dollars it came with "white widow , hindu kush purple kush g13 and some other ones i cant rember but there really ligit an the guy who works theres super nice ! check em out man for home grown stuff close to home
