1st CFL indoor grow...Tips more then welcome!

Hi all!
Start of the 5th week of flowering (29th day).
Everything seems to be going according to plan.
Slowly gone from 1/4 strenght flowering nutes to full dose...plants seems to be loving every drop!
Should I test to see if they can handle more?
Some if the white hairs on the bigger buds are starting to turn brownish....love to watch it change on a daily basis...I can sit there and just watch them for hours!!!
The 2nd grow is coming very well too...the 4 topped BC Big Bud plants are gonna be moved into the HPS room in a week or so.
Im gonna have some fun with the other 2 with some LSTing....I love experimenting...
And next are the 2 feminized BC God Bud sprouts...one month younger than the Big Bud.
Im gonna start 2 feminized Purple Kush in 3 weeks, so they'll be a month younger...and so on...
Would that be a good rotation?
Anyway....Im just enjoying this to the max.

Smells real nice, fruitlike.
Reflective material is 1mm mylar.
Got it at the hydro shop...4'x25' for like 30$

I would push the nute strength just to the point where the very tips burn a little, not to much but just a little so you know its at the plants max strength for that specific strain.

The HPS Sun System 150w comes already with the "brackets" to hang it with....I just bought like 12 feet of metal chain at Home Depot and some screwable hooks.
As for the CFLs, they are in socket adapters, plugged on a 3 sided "thingy" (exact technical term) which is plugged into normal power bars. The bars are supported on the walls with 4 screws...even the cheapest power bar has holes in the back to be hanged on a wall.
Thats about it.
I am at work at the moment....I'll edit with pics later tonight.

Hey Kala, the internals of your setup look pretty good. But I have to comment on the hooks and the wood they are screwed into, only cause of the danger of that light falling and breaking and hot shards of glass flying everywhere. It looks like some thin flimsy board like paneling, but I could be wrong. If it is though you may want to try and reinforce it somehow so those hooks dont pull out. You can put a 1x4 or 2x4 on top and screw the hook through your grow cab and into the reinforcment.

Only looking out for your safety. You are there and know exactly how secure it is. Be safe

just curious is the shelf that the plants are on adjustable or just the light fixture?? great box i would upgrade to mh/hps setup thats what im getting waiting for it in the mail works for both mh for veg. and hps for flowering .

The hooks are in 1/4" wood panel of some kind and there is a 1x2 on top as well.
I love my babies to much to let anything fall on them anyway

This being my 1st grow I did not top, lst or anything else until 5 days into flowering when I put the screen in.
On the pictures you can clearly see 3 of the main colas..the 4th one I played a bit more with, and it was pull under the screen more.
I just adjusted as I went along.
I got another grow going, those are already topped, will start flowering in 2 weeks under a screen a well.
Learning a lot from this 1st grow thanks to the poeple here and a couple mistakes of course

Hello!
The shelf was screwed in the walls with 90 degres brackets. I moved it a couple times troughout the grow. Eventualy removing it all together when I started flowering, not knowing how big the plants would get.
The shelf will go back in next week, but this time it will be halfway up, making my setup a 2 stage flowering grow box.
Im planing on having 2 grow flowering at a month appart.
Buying a second 150w HPS next week as well.

Hey man thanks a ton for the pics im doing a clf light only so the plug" in helps alot ha easy!! think u have like 6 hanging when you first started before you got the sun system and them two in back than on back side of door two? i think thats right if so whats watts o type of bulb i have two laying aound the house one is: 26w 120vac 60h other bigger on is a 30w so im geusssing there is a bigger size this seems small?

Well its that time again!
Weekly grow update, here we come!!!
Start of week 6 (36th day) into 12/12.
Well, it smells goooooooood in here!!!!
About half of the milky white hairs on the buds are now bronwish, except on the front left plant which I played a bit more with, it seems to be going a bit slower then the other 3.
Stopped at recommended nute strenght, some leave tips yellowed after feeding.
I put up the shelf again in there...but this time its about halfay up.
Moved the exhaust fan down from the "celing" of the box to the back wall, down in the new inclosed space under the shelf. Seems to keep the temp down much better. I should have done this from the start, again, learning as I go.
Planing on buying the 2nd HPS this week and moving the 4 BC Big Bud plants in the top flowering partition.
Of course I took some more pics.....I cant stop myself!!!

Hello friends and fellow growers!
Hope you guys had a good week!
Kala here with another weekly update of my 1st grow.
Start of week 7 in flowering (43rd day)
Well I finaly took the time and went to get my 2nd HPS 150w.
I finished seting up the top partiton late last night.
Transplanted the BC Big Bud and LST'ed the beejezuz out of em!
I will build the 2nd screen frame today and put it up sometime this week.
As you might have noticed, I took the CFLs out of the bottom part...since I wanted to have 2 equal partitions I had to lower the shelf a bit...that meant lowering the HPS as well...was getting way to hot in there.
So Ill finish flowering under the HPS by itself, hopefully it wont stunt them to much.
Lower leave are starting to yellow, but from what I read its normal for late flowering plants.
As usual, here are some more pics of the setup.
Please I would really love some input on how much longer you guys think I should give the girls.

Dude that looks awesome to me, i see quite a few white hairs so looks to be at least a week longer, and they dont have that amber glow to them yet i think.

good looking grow man. i am currently in the process of getting everything i need for my first grow and was looking at one of those 150 watt hps systems. did you have any problems with heat after upgrading to that from the cfl's?

Well I went from only CFLs to a mix of HPS and CFLs then to the HPS only. CFLs alone arent too hot...kept them real close to the plants and the temp wouldnt go over 82-85F. With the mix I had to moved up the HPS since it was getting real hot in there. Now that the shelf is halfway up, I couldnt keep the CFLs because of the heat, but I find its better like that...keeps everything nice and cool at about 75-78F.
