My homemade "airpots", I'll most likely end up wrapping them in burlap down the line, but I made these with a 7 dollar soldering iron and a couple 32 gallon totes. I wrapped em with some nylon rope, and covered that with duct tape in an effort to prevent to big of a bulge once it has soil in it. I will be growing in these side by side with my smart pots, so should be a fun comparison grow. I just did this one day out of sheer boredom, I really enjoy creating things and working with my hands.

Yeah, I'm all about the creativity, Now if I can just get these suckers filled with dirt! I don't get paid for another week, so I just have to work with the 10.5 cu. feet I bought yesterday, enough for a couple smartpots. Not like there is really any rush, my seedlings won't be ready to go into the bigguns for a couple weeks probably!

Well, filled a couple smartpots most of the way up, so now I just need to top them off when I transplant. 2 x 45 gal, 1 x 30 gal for the smartpots. I have a lot more soil to buy, but hopefully I can take care of that in about a week. The 45 gallon pots have 3 cu. feet of Kelloggs garden soil in the bottom half, and 2 cu. feet of patio+ in the top half each, and the 30 gallon is all patio+. Since I'm going to be using DynaGro on the potted plants this year, I haven't amended the soil at all. Just gotta wait for the babies to get bigger so I can transplant, and we're in business!

Oh yeah, I'm scoring some Skywalker seeds tomorrow someone got outta a bag from a dispensary. I don't know the condition, and suspect they might be premie seeds, but if they're viable, I'm definately adding a few to the grow this season! Even if they're not real skywalker seeds, bud sold in the dispensaries around here is usually pretty dank, since they all have so much competition from other dispensaries.

lookin good meta! i stay in buckets/pots,even outdoor.
Right on! I'm getting down with the best of both worlds this year. I'm doing 6 plants in the ground, organically amended soil, organic nutes...and I'm doing at least 6(final count undetermined) in big ol' pots on my patio, chemically fertilized, possibly with DynaGro(I love them for my hydro, and they say you can use it for soil too).

im in this b*tch like tampons !! this should be interesting
Yeah brother, just hope you get those computer issues worked out, we're fiending for some updates over here on your girls! Plus you gotta get that outdoor thread up an' running man!

looking good in Metaland!!
Yo yo, I hope so, haha...

I just found a catapillar munchin on my DinaFem White Widow, so I sprayed the surrounding area with spinosad just now, and I'm gonna hit the plants this evening when the sun isn't on 'em anymore. I dunno, I have a love/hate relationship with spinosad, but last time I used it as a soil drench and this time it's foliar...I don't think you're supposed to use it as a soil drench, but it worked to eliminate some fungus gnats quite a while back in my indoor setup, just almost killed my plants too...lol...But yeah, I think catapillars are the main target of this product, so hopefully the babies are strong enough to get sprayed down thi evening...I think we might lose one of the Blue Mystics too, weak stem issues...I only want the fighters, survival of the fittest, bitches!! Haha, but I have one in the veg tent for backup, so we're still all good!

I just have to add that YouTube has possibly the worst selection of "Dance" music ever for editing their videos...The music is SO bad, it actually makes me laugh as I listen to it!

The end of your mash-up song is sick if you know the original. It's Lynn Anderson but a ton of people have covered it. Check it out at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06OP--FJTBo&feature=related

Sweet, looking forward to the pics bro! And yeah, use the rubbermaid airpot idea, I'm not sure how well it's gonna work, but I thought I might give it a try, and it'll probably help keep the soil cooler on those hot summer days. At least, thats what I'm hoping! As for ideas, I'm really good at improvising. If I can see how something works or how it is made, I can usually build one for cheaper that is custom made to my specifications...Like my reply to KMK below

Yeah, I know the rain you're talking about, but luckily unless the plants are heavy with thick buds, they usually like it! I'm building a sorta greenhouse later on outta clear plastic sheeting, mesh, and a lot of schedule 40 PVC at and fittings from home depot...I figure it should be a lot cheaper than buying a costco carport, and custom to my necessary measurements. All the materials are super cheap, the PVC, fittings, plastic, and mesh will probably run less than 100 bucks, and no glue or nails necessary...stay tuned, I'm not gonna put it up till the fall, so it might be a while before I build it.

Anyway, here's a quick video of the mother of the humboldt clones in my garden...Home made 18 gallon DWC, there are 2 plants in there, the taller gigantic one is the mother...lol...we'll see how she smokes when she's done, a lot of sativa heavy traits and looks like a long flowerer, but I'm taking things one step at a time. First ever attempt at hydro here, not to mention I'm new to growing indoors at all...It was more of an experiment I began out of boredom waiting for Spring so I could start up outdoors!

Under a bunch of 23w, 26w, and 42w CFL's...They did me well for the last 2 cycles I flowered, here's a quick video of one of the plants I'm curing/smoking on now.

Anyway, I don't have a lot I can do until I get paid, seeing as I need more soil. I sprayed the plants down with Spinosad, hopefully no buggies will come munching on 'em now...and I also sprayed down the entire area surrounding my grow, as well. I have enough to dose my plants one more time, in a couple weeks, or if I see any more catapillars persisting. But I have high hopes!

Yes!!! The Meta music is back! Oontz oontz oontz.... Sorry.. LOL

Looking good still man. I wish that I was able to get another indoor going in the while I wait for my outdoor to take off. I would just be battling high temps towards the end of the grow and there is no way that I am going to be able to finish them inside. :( Oh well I will just have to be satisfied with what I have back there. :D

Dude, I know what you mean, it sucks trying to grow in the summer in Cali with no AC for the grow...I mean, since I'm already growing outdoors, I'm gonna try to continue growing inside too. I'm not even gonna worry about the temps, I'll just let the plants fry in the heat...If they're small yielders that got stressed out, then so be it...Haha, I still have the outdoor going, so indoors it'll be a fun experiment to see how they do in the 90-100 degree range for a few weeks on end...Sadly i must retire the DWC setup after these ladies are done, because it IS too hot for hydro without AC, but I think the soil plants will just keep going...Just a little slower

hey meta, do you have your lights-on period during the night, and vice versa? it's a good way to keep temps down during the day and temp fluctuations lower in general. i'm sure you know this, and you probably already have it set up that way, but i figured i'd throw it in. love how the dwc girls are looking brother!

I got some beans from someone today, for free. They came outta a bag of Skywalker from one of the dispensaries in the area...I thought these seeds would be premie, small, or discolored...But they're abso-fucking-lutely beautiful. Hope they don't turn out to be a bunch of hermies! Man, I used to be the same way, if I found seeds in a sack I'd just toss 'em, but who knew that they would turn out to be such a hot commodity!!!

BTW...I have 26 of these seeds! They'd be charging at least 100 bucks for that online...Once again, just hope they don't turn out to be a bunch of hermies.
