Well I was told (by a local hydro store guy) that there were quite a few customers getting some impressive results with the Penetrator LED's. Only time will tell, and whether good or bad results this experiment will run from start to finish. Hopefully this journal will shed some positive light on LED growing.

Here is the Penetrator:

Below are some recent shots of the (2) Short Rider girls. You'll notice the plants do not even look like they're from the same seed lot. One is very Sativa and the other short and very compact.

Enjoy:

How much was that Led Light,I have a 1000 w HPS my PG& E is about $150. Extra a month
The Penetrator 126W is $475.00. Or you can pick up the Pro Model for $635.00 From what I've found the prices in the brochure are pretty much what shops and online stores are charging.

As far as electric goes It's supposed to consume 65% less power than a 250W HPS. At least that is what the brochure claims.

can this spectrum both veg and flower?
Just about any good quality LED will Veg the shit out of a plant. That's where they shine. However the technology to flower is not there yet.

The Hydro Guy in my area would only sell me the Penetrator Series lights. Okay yes he would sell me one of the junk UFO ones. But he's had so many returned he only hangs them for "display purposes" only. What impressed me is that he honored each and every return, ended up selling 95% of these customers the Penetrator lights (126W through the 345Watters) and hasn't had a single one of them brougth back.

He also stated that about 4/5 of them have come back to purchase either an additional matching unit, or has stepped up to one of the Pro Series or the standard 345W LED Penetrator lights.

So we'll just have to see how my grow turns out. Not gonna lie . . . I'm stoked.

"Looking good man! Sub'd"

Mineralz:

Thanks man. I'll have some pics in the next day or two. Had to do a little trimming (some browning in the leaves). I'm a total rookie at this stuff so I don't expect perfection at this stage in my hobby. But overall they are looking pretty darn good.

I had to transplant them today from 1/2 to 2 gal pots. Good thing I decided to because they were already starting to get root bound.

So far the LED is doing it's job. And for $475.00 the damn thing better do a good job!!!

penetrators are a joke. Cammie from HGL was outted as a FRAUD and banned on almost every single forum, including the one she sponsored in icmag. :/

worst part is this wasnt her first scam. before she was a girl, she was a dude who scammed people for car parts on forums all over the net. she now lives in southern ca because she was getting so much shit from where she originally lived.

you'll get results of some sort, dont expect the best. sorry man.

Day 30 from seed. Didn't feel like taking them out of the cabinet for pics. But the color is a rich green on both plants. They're looking healthy and the more Indica looking of the plants is starting to flower. :blsmoke:

I have 2 of the 63 watt units. I have to keep the light 2 feet off the plants in veg or they do not stretch at all. I have the early more blue and white models.

If you want to flower plants 1 foot tall you are fine. I try to grow 2 foot plants and supplement with pl-l flouros vertical for lower half of plant. I would try to get the unit within a few inches of plant in flower to max the bud growth.

The unit draws 118 watts actual with a few of those watts for fans btw.

Thank you very much for checking out the journal and sharing your advice and experience. They both look like they are "just" starting to flower. So I changed things around and got them about 5 - 6" from the LCD Panel. Also just did some LST to even out the canopy.

Peace man

Still can't believe both seeds were from the same batch. Second and 3rd pic are of the more Indica (Short Rider) looking plant.

Here are some good shots of the Sativa looking girl:

Some dirt simple LST. Did not have to do this on the other one. Next time however I will tie a support string or two to hold the plant straight up. After that I'll do the 45 degree tie down. However I don't believe it's a big deal this time around. She looks healthy to me.
