Short Stuff: Snowryder

Finally ready and set to go. Just put 4 Short Stuff's Snowryders in paper towels yesterday to germinate. I used distilled water with sprinkles of MycoGrow Soluble on the wet papernapkin, rolled the seeds around the towel to get moist and to get innoculated. It's been 23 hours and in a few more hours they will be ready to put in soil, the little tap roots are already starting to grow.

They will be put in 1 gallon pots. Soil mixture is layered. 1/4 subs supersoil mixed with a bit of fresh roots/ 1/4" layer of Wormcastings and Alaskan Humus/ Roots Organic topped off with a fine layer of Alaskan Humus about 1/2" worth. I set the 4 pots outside last night to soak up the rain showered water to get moist. Now they are under light getting the soil nice and warm for the seeds to be placed in later today. I will once again sprinkle a tiny amount of MycoGrow in the tiny hole for the seed, then place under 20hrs of light. got a few White Sharks going that is why the light will be set to 20hrs. instead of 24hrs.

The seeds were placed in the pots this afternoon.

I plan on using water only for most of the grow. If neccessary I have wormcastings/alaskan humus/mollasses/MycoGrow/CytoPlus/Maxicrop/and 0-5-0 Bat Guano in my arsenal to help push the babies if needed.

T-5 is my lighting. 4' 6 bulb with the White Sharks.

I may pollenate some of the W.S. if I get a male Snowryder, and definately pollenate some of the Female Snowryder's if I so get lucky enough with this small batch.

The White Sharks are currently on day 46 from seed.
These pics. are day 45, of one of the females, the previous post are of day 44.
2 are definately female, the other I should be able to tell in a day or two.
These will be grown out with the Snowryder's in a 4' x 22" floor space in a closet.

One of the Snowryder's has broken ground and has popped up in less than 24 hrs. This will be respectfully labeled Snowryder #1. This seed had the longest growth from it before planting in soil.

No, they are not. They are very short right now just reaching 9", they have four sets of nodes left, Node's 4,5,6,7. I topped when there was the 10th node leaflets starting to form just after the last transplant, then I removed sets 1,2,3.

They will however be crossed with a male Snowryder to start breeding a cross between the two strains. Then I will grow those seeds out and cross back to a F#1 female (1 of 6 remainding seeds yet to start from the same package of Snowryder). Hopefully getting a mix of regular strains and auto's, Snowryder x White Shark or vice versa can't remeber how to correctly name at this time, but then keep breeding the auto pheno seeds from that batch back to F#1 or F#2 Snowryder seeds to make them more stable. I do have a breeding book that I do have on hand to TRY to do this the correctly.

P.S.I will be saving the pollen from any male Snowryder to help in any stabilization or future crosses and seed production with a female Snowryder or other regular strain, for as long as the pollen will stay viable.

Any tips or advice greatly accepted.

Maybe for a month longer max. Gonna keep them short, no taller than 16" before I flower them. I will top a few more heads soon, I have thinned out the insides a bit already and will have updated pics. after watering tomorrow. Along with a picture of the current Snowryder that has popped and if any others do by morning or later this evening.

Here is my update for the day.

All 4 Snowryders have pushed through the soil. 1 within 24 hours, the others maybe 40 hours. They were given a light water around the edge of the pot to keep moist.

The White Sharks were fed water today pH'ed with 100% pineapple juice. It took about 12ml to a gallon to bring to 6.6 from about 8.0.

White Shark labeled #3 turned out to be a male so it is the one that was cut.

Here are the morning pics. of day2 for the Snowryder's and day 48 of the White Shark's.

No water today.

I moved the Snowryder's so they are sitting on top of the 4' 6 bulb T-5 and are about 6" from the 2' 4 bulb suspeneded above.

Days 3 & 4 from breaking through the soil of the 4 snowryders.
So far so good, Snowryder #1 and #4 are both about 3/4" tall.
And the ones labeled #2 and #3 are both 1" tall.
The 2' T-5 is about 6" from the tops.
They recieved a splash of water to moisten the top layer yesterday.
The temps have been around the mid 70's to just around 80, humidity around 39-49.
1 oscillating fan propped to cool the tops of the White Sharks and a second stationary fan. above about head height blowing the opposite direction to keep the air temp. and airflow mixed up and even.

Up above there is a 4" inline fan with mufflers on each side and a carbon filter on one that will be exhausted from the top, and with a 4" passive intake with bug screen to keep the space sealed and pest free.

The Snowryders are looking great the first set of leaves are on their way, they are about 1 1/4 - 2" tall now.

The White Sharks are being kept tied down and are no taller than 10", but they are growing taller and will be going to flower in a week or so.

I see to have missed a day the last 2 posts should be days 4 & 5 on 5/21, and days 5 & 6 on 5/22.

Day 7 for Snowryder #1, and Day 6 for Snowryders #2,3,4.

Day 52 of the 2 female White Sharks that will pollenated with a male snowryder if I get one.

The White Sharks are showing signs of sulfur deficiency, I am brewing 1 gallon of 1/4 cup wormtea w/ 1/4 tsp maxicorp and 1 Tbl mollasses with 1/2 tsp mycogrow to be added the last hour before feeding on the 24th. a.m. I am also going to have a gallon of H2O with 1 Tbl of epsom salt to add some sulfur to aid the deficiency. I will feed the epsom first about 7/8 gallon between the 2 girls followed by the wormtea.

Other than that they are ready to flower. And all else looks good. Look for post of pics later today.


Oh yeah, is anybody following my grow??? I know it is early but I am stoked.

Here are the pics for the day.

The close up of the White Shark, I was trying to get a close look at the slight yellowing of the new leaves, which I believe is a sulfur def. The picture really doesn't show as well as I liked because of the light shining through the back of the leaf.
1 Tbl of Epsom Salt should cure that along with some good organic tea.

The Ph of both the feed and drain water was both 6.6 going in and out, before and after the watering yesterday.

Things are looking good this morning.

Just got done feeding everyone some worm/kelp/molasses/microbe tea. Along with some good old H2O with a bit of epsom for the Sharks.

Days 7 & 8 for the Snowryders and 53 for the White Sharks.

The two that are in the 4" cups are the tops that I broke from W.S. #1, I pulled 1 and the other I'll give it awhile. No rooting or cloning gel, just a little organic tea and water so far.

No pics of the sharks today, just the Snowryders today is day 9 for Snowryder #1,
and day 8 for #'s 2, 3, and 4.

I would say they grew approximately 1/4" or so from last night till now.

Tomorrow is straight water for the White Sharks and maybe the Snowryders if needed.

I will use apple cider vinegar again tomorrow to drop the pH in the water to get around 6.5.

Here are yesterday pics.

All were fed just water, pH'd to 6.5 with just less than a tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar.
Starting pH was around 7.4-7.8, can't remember, but one of the 2.

The Snowryders have taken a growth spurt and so have the White Sharks new tops going upright.

I was thinking about doing a SCROG with the white Sharks but I do not think it is necessary. The branches are so strong no need to worry about breakage, and both tops of the Sharks spread to about 20" circumfrence all the way around. practically just about filling most of the space under the 4' 6 bulb T-5. From the lowest branch bud nodule to the top is a depth of about 4"-6" difference. I will start flower tomorrow, this way I should have good light penetration all the way through budding.

Remember I am going to cross the Sharks with the Snowryder and need to get that 2-3 weeks of flower before pollenation.

I switched to red bulbs today for the 4' 6 T-5, lights are now set for 12/12 for the White Sharks, flower time. I want them to be atleast 3 weeks in flower before I pollenate them.

57 days total in veg. for the White Sharks.

The Snowryders are now on days 11 & 12 and looking good so far.

They will now be under 24 hrs. of light under the 2' T-5 for now.

Subscribed and along for the ride. Quality updates, pakalolo. Grew up in HI myself. I miss it often, but rarely miss paying $70-$80 for an eighth, haha.
