Going 1K watts using 120 V electrical.
Lumatek or Quantum?
What's the feed back?
I've had problems with Lumetaks breaking down. Just purchased Quauntums. They seem lighter and supposedly give less heat and more lumens.

Anyone with feed back?

The Quantum Series ballast is available in 400w, 600w, 750w, 1000w. All sizes come complete with our exclusive dimming option, both 120v and 240v cord ends, and our three year warranty. there dimmeable and only ballest where u lower the wattage say u have a 600w and u put it on 50% it only draws 300w worth of electricity..

Should give the 1k galaxy dial a watt a try .. ya can run 400,600,1000 watt hps/mh and they also have a turbo fucntion that gives around 10% more punch to the light. i personally run the 600w galaxy DaW and love it, its runs super cool and is really efficient.

Ok the quantum ballast are JUNK! I've returned 8 of them. Bad batch, blowing fuses left and right! Guy at shop said prob bad batch and that the lumateks did the same thing at one point. Probably made in the same warehouse in CHINA. Back to the shop to return 3 more tomorrow.

Lumatek makes a ballast that you can run two 600w off of, they look pretty sweet. I purchased 3 quantums listening to peoples advice on these forums and have had a lot of problems with them blowing fuses as stated above. I had to return one as well. It is not my electrical either, I have my box professionally wired. I purchased a lumatek recently as well and have not had any problems. I just ordered a solis-tek but it has not arrived yet so I don't have any feedback. My buddy talked me into switching to digital, but I am already having so many problems with them that I never had with magnetic. And I HATE sending stuff back!

Blowing fuses may be a situation of "Dirty Power" This phenomenon has been known to cause all sorts of electrical issues with fuses and high powered electronics. Electricity has "spikes" when electronics turn on and off.. you notice this when you power up multiple large appliances.. power conditioners remove this surge and dip in power to provide a constant sign wave to electronics.. im not saying this will stop you from blowing fuses however a power conditioner does eliminate many power related issues.

Ive killed 2 lumateks. Best ballasts are magnetic for reliablity, I find myself having to bring out ol trusty when the new technology fails. I recently bought all htgsupply's digi ballast's. Work great so far.

Been running two Quantum 1000w and a quantum 600w for almost two years with no issues at all.
1000w are running at 220v, 600 is at 110v.

One key thing is to make sure the ballasts and your fans do NOT start at exactly the same time if on the same circuit. I watched a bulb melt at the base from that, stagger the times buy like 5 mins if possible.

Did you have any feedback yet on the SolisTek ballasts?

I have been using them and i love this ballast, not only is it dimmable from 1000 to 600 to 400, but it looks badass and its FAN-LESS! you can also run 400 and 600 watt lamps

This ballast runs JUST AS COOL as my quantum side by side! WITH NO FAN, its pretty damn impressive.

Also forgot to mention, SolisTek ballast have something called ignition control that auto relays ur lamps. All of them, check this video: http://vimeo.com/12592766
so what RandomSeed is saying will not be required with these Ballasts!

Hope i can help some ppl out with this info!

the quantum digital ballasts are REALLY nice.
They run super cool. They can also be dimmed, if it suits your application.

I don't really trust lumatek... Superlumens mode is just going to fuck your bulbs.

The hydrofarm Phantom would be better than the lumatek, but the quantum runs cooler than both.

GET THE QUANTUM!!!!
