My mom was being pyscho today!!!

Woke me up by yelling at me, talking shit, then no matter what i said today she would always get angry... anyways this went on and on until i snapped and started screaming back, told her she's fucking pyscho... and ended up getting kicked and hit... seriously im 18 years old, dont you think im too old to be getting slapped around by my mom? I mean, she doesnt hit me often, like the last time was at my grad party about a month ago, but that gave me a busted lip for a few days... but like i said, Im 18, so shouldnt she stop? She hasnt raised a hand to my twin bro or older sister in years... but i do back talk alot and get shitty. its like when she is irritated or angry, she always takes it out on me, no one else.

If you live under her roof, you should go by her rules and if you dont feel thats fair... MOVE OUT! Your 18 years old, you should know better! So, this is your fault and no one elses. While it may not be a good idea to argue with your mother, you do have the right to express yourself, and at the same time she has no right to assault you. So really, no matter what you say to her, you are within your rights, and anytime she strikes you, she is beyond hers. Unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world, and I doubt you want to enforce your right to expression (or right to not be assaulted) by pressing charges on your mother. My advice would be to make achieving independence a top priority, at which point you can express yourself fully to your mother, and I hope the expression you chose conveys glaring disappointment yet avoids lasting resentment.

because its my home?? and its not this bad all the time, more like 10% or less of the time. i mean, we dont get along, but we dont end up screaming or yelling or getting physical most of the time. I dont work, and apartments are expensive in ca. and plus she got mad too cause i dont have a job.... i would never hurt her. yeah, she's hurt me, but thats whatever. she woke me up screaming because she was already pissed at other stuff and then she remembered shit i argued with her about yesterday, so she opened my door and started screaming "i thought you wanted to fill out that paper work erica, i thought you wanted to do all this stuff erica, and you set your alarm, but you cant wake your lazy ass up?? we got shit to do, get up."
