Thursday Night Chop Down!

Heard back from Mike about the questions from this morning:
"You can keep the Spectra LED 100 about 14 to 18 inches during veg and 8 to 14 inches during flower. The Spectra LED 100 is 10 inches in diameter and about 3.5 inches thick."
I'm a bit worried that the light will be too powerful in the area I was planning to veg, but I can just rearrange things on the right and have a bit more headroom to use it there if it doesn't work in the shorter space. Do you think it fits the bill for what you're looking for in a veg light?

edit: Bump

Stoney if you start some blueberry seeds I want some! In fact...do you have any kind of messanger on your computer?
Thanks for the bump dude!!!! and you bet, we might be able to work something out... I have some plans in the very near future for some males and breeding!!! I don't use any type of instant messenger at all... PM from RIU are about my most instant i get.

Not yet, I'll send him a reply and ask those as well as the dimensions of the unit. Thanks for the reminder on those.
10-4, let me know.... thanks!!!

That's great info!!! For now I am going to stick with the HTG panel for vegging. It is working great!! plus I just spent a small fortune on my grow.... congress (my G/F) would have me hung if i spent more right now!!! hahaha

Thanks bro!! she is starting to get her blues.... not long now!!

wat strains are you about to start...? lol. ;)
haha it's funny you should ask.... I recently acquired a plethora of seeds from a friend. All kinds of great breeds and crosses. I am excited for the future!!! for now i started two different kinds (three of each) soon i will start more. for now i have:

the male is called "Floja" it is Flo X Double Purple Doja and the Female is AK-48 from nirvana.

and the other seeds I started are:

Casey Band (Casey Jones X Headband) X C4 (Cotton Candy X Shishkeberry Red)

I am very excited to see these grow!!! I have converted my old flower cabinet to a germination cabinet and rigged up some CFL's. once they pop, I will put em under the LED.

Yeah, I hear you on the costs side of things. Since this will be my first LED purchase I feel like I should just take the dive and go all out on the best I can get so I never feel the need to upgrade. We'll see where I am when it's time to make the purchase though. If I can't afford the GLH veg light with the 180w panel I may get an htg one too.
Can't believe you even have a separate germination cab, should've expected it! Very clean and efficient setup.

Btw might wanna edit out the seed trading stuff from the thread, mods won't like it, try to keep that in PMs.

the cabinet I am using to start them is my old flower cabinet... I just put the CFL's back in there to keep the new seeds warm. it's almost 80F in there... perfect! once they sprout, i will put them in under the LED and veg with the rest. it's only about 73F in the veg cab.

I put the new seeds in water this morning, and soaked them for about 14 hours. I just sowed them into the soil now. all of them were sunk except for two... this doesn't shake me up, I've germed plenty of floating seeds!!

All of the Floja X AK48 were sunk.... I was to lazy to write all that out on the cups, so I wrote 48Floja on the cups.... it kind of reminded me of an old football play named "48 Flow Hard". haha, I really hope the breeder is not upset at all for me doing that!!!!!

Two of the C4 X Casey band were floaters. for this breed I wrote C4CB on the cups.... again, not a name, just had to write something on the cups.... plus when they are up canned, I will need to write it on a popsicle stick or a soup spoon.

So what's on for Thursday Stoney?!
This week I have a Blueberry to chop down.... actualy I kind of screwed up and put to many together, now i have three BB to harvest in the next four weeks... the only different girl i have is an NYPD in a couple weeks. I like to switch it up more often, but it is what it is... so bring on the blue!! haha

what up stoney love! subbed to see chris' beans then low n behold i see our man highlanders are in the mix too! nice.
Thanks so much for joining along!!! and yep, I am recently starting Chris' cross' and some highlanders cross'. I have a great selection to grow from to. As each one sprouts, I will start a new one. I think I am only gonna start five of each, with the hope of two females. After these two, I am thinking of starting Chris' cross of Floja X Warlock. and highlanders Cheesequake X Qrazytrain.

I hope I can do them justice!! I hold these Gifts on a higher pedestal than the beans i bought from the store!!!

Crashin the thread for a sec...... Stoney... what do you use for"complete Nutes?" I'm using MG bloom boost ferts ... and just fucking realized they are just that .. a boosting fert.. not a "complete" nute with all the trace elements and minerals.... or if you have any suggestions on something i can pick up from Lowes? Any one else have any suggestions...?

I'm afraid i won't get these girls turned around in enough time.....
Thanks guys !!!!

<<<sorry for all the noise ! .. i just had an DUUHUUU moment>>>>>>

Check the guaranteed analysis on the side of the box. Think I've got the same thing, it should have a break down of all the minerals it provides with percentages next to them. Mine has everything in it, just different ratios than the veg nutes, so you should be fine.

ya know man, I just started using nutes myself... for about a year I just used fortified soil and water. Now I mix way less into the soil and use Fox Farms and Jack's classic

For veg I mix up my soil... Organic soil mixed with ammonium sulfate, bone meal, worm castings, perlite, and some of my own compost that I keep... I call this "black gold". This keeps my clones happy for three weeks or so. I also use jack's 30-10-10. I don't use much of it though, because my plants grow to fast to begin with because of the soil, by the time I need to feed them, they are ready to go into flower.

About a week or so before flower I put them in a bigger container, If they are already in a large container, I slide them out, put fresh soil in the bottom and slide them back in. I then feed them with flower nutes.

For flowering I use straight Organic soil (right now Dr. Earth "pot of gold" is my favorite) and perlite. I don't add anything else. I start them at a 1/4 strength of FF Big bloom and Tiger Bloom and a recommended dose of humbolts ginormous. This is given to them during their last week of veg. once they get into the flower cabinet, I increase by 25% until harvest or till they don't want anymore. At week four I start using Beastie Bloomz in the mix. ... I am going to start using molasses again, that is something I haven't done in a while.

and that's it... I only started this strict diet a couple weeks ago, so only time will tell if I'm doing the right thing. none of my new plants have been nute burned and are looking very healthy!!!
