What EC levels are safe during flowering?

Hey, I have two plants in buckets at the moment in around 3-4 weeks into flowering and I'm running my EC levels at 1.8. Is this too high? Ive noticed different people say different things and now I'm confused lol has anyone got a chart or something which says what EC/PPM/CF are best throughout the stages?

if you go high in ec just watch for burn cause plants can only use and store so much ! 1.8 should be sweet though just watch for them drinking water cause the ec goes up ! just watch for the burn !!!! i know people that keep to 1.2 and the yield n quality is to notch !
i raise mine then lower it. Horses fo courses !

im using nft and at day 20 12/12 my e.c is 1.4 might try raising it a little in a week or so.

have been wondering about my bluelab nute pen it has e.c x 500, and e.c x 700 for ppm reading does anyone know why and or which 1 to go by?

I have the same bluelab nute pen too and was wondering the same thing... Its a bit confusing! I think I might drop my E.C. to 1.2-1.4ish... I only just got the nute pen the other day. Before that I had just been mixing 1/4 strength nutes...

If you don't know the best EC for your plant, you just have to experiment. All plants are different. What I do is start at 1.0 then slowly increase the EC each day by .05 or .1 until I see a little bit of nute burn(crispy leaf edges, etc.) when you reach that saturation point, back off at least .2 or so. Some people use low concentrations of nutes and have great results. Less tends to be better than more in the nutrient game.

go by the EC!! ppm is just a conversion. the difference between .5 and .7 conversions is simply American vs European~! Sorta like US gallons vs Imp gallons.

I've been asking that question wherever Igo and got bullshit answers. Yours mightbe bullshit too but I think you're right!!

Anyhow, I have LA Confidential in coco and I've been running at 1.0 to 1.2. Just got back from the hydro store (buying some more coco) and they said to up it to like 1.8. Not sure I can do that without nute burn but I am going to try to up it a little. Been getting great growth rate at 1.2 though.

BTW, my wife just told me about right clicking for spelling and it was an NO SHIT!! moment. What a dumbass!!

You just need to experiment with your plants my friend. I typically feed 1.2 at the very top end. I grow FRDWC though which gives high DO levels. This allows plants to assimilate nutes better (i.e less nutes needed) than other growing methods.

Some indicas can easily take 2.2 or more. But just because you can throw that many nutes, doesn't mean she NEEDS that many nutes. Like CaptinJack said, just increase slowly and see what happens

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. I am currently at an EC of 1.6 with the plant on the left and 1.8 with the big girl in the middle lol. They both seem to be loving it! Thought i'd chuck in a pic of lights out time too because it looks cool. How often do you guys change your water? Ive been doing it once a week.. Is this too often? Am I wasting nutes and water? lol Tell us what ya's think of my pics bongsmilie

a lo of newbie eyes glaze over right about now. thats why we get repeat questions. charts are good but you need context to understand them.

My nutrient meter already has all the conversions on it lol just confusing when you don't know what PPM scale people are referring to.. When they are saying for example "i started off at 200 ppm and ended up at 1000 ppm" I find that really confusing... are they referring to EC x 500 or EC x 700????
