How Often Do You Clean Your Pipe?

My sister was given an old pipe, and she's been smoking out of it for a few days. she loaned it to me last night... I couldnt even get suction. So I hella cleaned it today, its been taking me a few hours, ive never seen such a dirty pipe. It was completely clogged. I soaked it in salt water, used rubbing alcohol to loosen what was caked on the bowl... it was so caked on you couldnt even pack a full bowl.
Grabbed a pipe cleaner, and went to work. In the end, ended up getting 85% of it clean, but then the suction was weak. I heated up a safety pin to red hot, and used it to get the resin out right where the smoke goes down the bowl. Now I got perfect airflow
Id say this pipe hasnt been cleaned for years...
How often do you clean yours? Do you let it get this bad?

lol that sounds nasty! i usually give mine a quick wash out after every use, it only takes 5 mins.

every 2-4 weeks. rubbing alcohol + sea salt works wonders. I also run the glass over some hot water and it is like new. My glass bong I clean 3-4 times a week. I find if you keep it from getting too dirty, you can always maintain a clean smoking piece. the slide i clean about every 2-4 weeks.

ive been cleaning it since 11, and its almost done. i had to take it in the shower with me to get a clog loose, and i stuck it in hot water and let it soak...

put it in a kettle preferably one that you can put on the stove and put the pipe in there, turn the stove or the kettle on and breath in the vapors. I hear it'll get you high and it'll clean the piece

I wait to clean it until i notice a loss of suction. Then I fill that bitch with kosher salt and rubbing alcohol. Works like a charm

I get a hot pot of water & drop it in.

but then again I never clean my pipes. I will just buy a new 1. I do not own a cool enough bong to clean often. Maybe when I get a good $500 + bong.. I would clean it after every use.

ill just buy another one,these are like 2 dollars at the corner store they are plastic hard to wash
