Hey guys, I'm back finally with my next round of growing after 1st successful outdoor crop done awhile back any yes it's bagseed for now, planning on 10 stable females to stay with... I definitely have a good feeling about an indoor stealth grow...CANT WAIT!!!

Soil- Fox Farm (Ocean Forest) - quality soil folks:hump: seedlings lookin very sexy n healthy so far.

Nutrients-Jack's (blossom booster) - only really have flowering stage nutes.... besides a free jug of micronutrients with the good bacteria n fungus or whatever else may lurk in that murky water

Lights- Ultra Sun 1000 watt HPS w/digital ballast & aircooled hood ( possibly w/ a 600w MH aswell )

Sounds promising. How big is this closet? You worried about temps with 1000 watts in such a small space? post pics of the setup.

Yes, heat is a speed bump, I'm trying to come up w/ a plan. Most air flow and circulation in between the light & plants. Also most space seperation between the 2.

AND as of now the closet space is relatively small maybe 3x3x8 but I will be relocating into a WAYYY bigger space

K, thanks for the support!! :D

U got a good start man. 1000w is a lil too much for a 3x3 area. That's over a 100w per square foot. Seems a little excesive ffor me but as long as u can keep the temp down and keep the light a good distance away, I think u should be fine

The thousand watt HPS is most likely the reason for the stretch. Color spectrum and light distance. I have mine under a 125 watt dual spectrum CFL at twelve inches and her first leaves are huge and green.

...your vegging those seedlings under a 1k HPS?!?!?!?!?!?!

if so guy please go to walmart and pay $20 for a 4' T5 fixture and two 32 watt bulbs. Your wasting a shit ton of electricity on those

Also, from one long time 1k hps user to another....you WILL HAVE TO cool that thing some how in such a small space.

Actually they are vegging outside right now... I'm going to put them in when I feel they can handle my setup...

That "stretch" is from being outside...not in my setup....... yet tues i will have pics of my setup done and will consider from there but will soon have more or less a whole room for them to flourish.

ohhh ok, maybe I missed that.

Ya in a 3x3 you will have to vent that 1k for sure...temps will get so high so fast without extracting air.

Do you have a air cooled hood?

just be prepared for high temps.

I mean 1 400cfm fan hanging inside of that 3x3 area venting off to another room might do the trick. If you deal with cold winters, the light itself will become your heat source.

If I didnt run a fan inside of my tent, and just my 1k hps. Say my ambient temps outside the tent are 75....I'll be sitting at 110 F in no time.

Have you considered running 2x 400w ballast at the same time? You would get better light coverage, as well as being able to run both MH and HPS together and still be saving 200w of Power! I imagine you'd be fine for Vegging with as 'lamb of god' said use T-5's or at most as single 600w MH.. a 1000w seems a little hastey for veg.. I suppose it depends on how many girls you have.. have you got a few pics of your setup??

Ive had mad trouble cooling a 600w in my cab...1000's going to be a killer to cool! Id say for best results us 2 separate duct runs 1 for light cooling and one for smell control and attach either 6"/8" ducting etc etc... out-to-out ducts and a air-cooled hood and an in-line fan with high cfm movement and a possible AC attached to your intake, depending on your room temps, where do you plan to exhaust ?

I am only running a 400, a 20w UV-B and 250w combined side lighting (720w total) and an air-cooled reflector is defo needed.. I highly :) doubt.. that youll get away with running a 1000 without either an air-cooled hood, or cool-tube.

I look forward to seeing your progress - STELTHY :leaf:

it takes an air cooled hood, a 440 cfm fan, and a 12,000 btu window A/C unit to keep temps 4 degrees above ambient.

most likely getting the air cooled hood, along with 2 440cfm fans...but, you guys dont think my girls would love that 1000 watts of attention tho??

the only reason I see things as overkill is the fact you can flower more plants under that 1k then a 3x3 space will allow.

Will your plants die from too much light? NO. Will they from too much heat? YES.

so as long as you got a good plan in place for extraction you should be just fine. And your plants should be beautiful as long as you get things spot on.
