So, is it just me that doesn't get answers from Hydroponicshut??
I wrote them and asked about their spectrums (and ratios of them) and the angle of the led's. And if there is heat sinks in the grow light.
If a company can't answer that, then they've gained my mistrust..
In addition I asked about the bin's of the LED's, but I do not expect an answer to that, but if a company can answer this they are AAA++ in my book!

And secondly, are there any EU distributors of the Diamond series from advancedLED? That would help a lot... The 160$ delivery fee is evil..
Did you emails Sales@hydroponicshut.com? I tried using the contact us submission and never got a response but when i used the sales email on the front page i got one within a day.

If you're talking about Black stars, they haven't even been on the market that long.
Gotham Hydro started using the Black star name for their LED's in early 2010.
OK now that you mentioned the time was in March when I picked mine up so it is 17 or 18 months into its burn in but still no problems. And my buddy used it 24/7 for at least 11 months straight until I managed to retrieve it. Any how I have several friends locally using them and know one has had any issues with those panels and all have had great flowers to burn including myself. This thread has gotten pretty long since it started and several areas of (The Hatfield's and McCoys) are mixed in. LOL

Curly what cheapo chinese lights are you using? I have heard the cheap lights def don't flower from soooo many people. Only people I have heard they do flower is from people online who are selling LEDS or people who don't have proof of growing big buds under LEDS. Do you have pics of the end of your grow under lights?
well to e honest with ya bro i dont know the exact make of my unit ...... i bought it off craigslist from some guy that had ordered 12 of them but only needed 10. now i should have been more clear it is a cheap unit but not in the way of how it was built , its actually a well put together unit .....looks like a spectra but its not. but as far as flowering yep no problems there bro thing did great considering it was only using 2 spectrums and probly running at 60-80 true watts.

now let me e clear ..... im not saying you should go buy a panel such as this , in my opinion i got lucky for sure i did no research on the light because of lack of info. if you are looking for a cost effective panel well there's a few options , you got black star- affordable and ive seen some good stuff come off them , spectra's from GLH- a bit more pricey but ive got one and let me tell ya its worth it:) , advanced led- again afordable and i hear they are a good light but i have yet to see some good results from them with my own eyes.

if ya want my opinion save a few bucks and get a spectra from GLH they have a 180w panel that is pretty cheap and it kicks ass , i believe that mike(owner) gives a discount if you mention you are a forum member ..... not gonna be to crazy of a discount im sure but still thats pretty cool. hope this helps ya man cheers.

oh ya and here are the pics of my girls after i chopped em

Yep, won't be supporting ledbudguy site anymore. Got some posts deleted over there. Won't be buying any Grow Perfect LEDs either. Shady marketing to say the least.
I posted up a link for an offshore manufacturer that makes the Advanced DS, and Penetrator lights. The manufacturer told me yes they do make lights for both companies. I simply asked the legitimacy of this because the lights are less than half the price and the pictures are the same exact pictures on both advanced led and HGL websites! They emailed more pictures from their shop to prove that it was from them and stated specs are exactly the same. A day later I got banned, reason being "Spamming cunt".

Yet, there are tons of spam entries for products like Viagra that stick around on the forum for days. My entry didn't even make it on, I'm willing to bet the magnum uses the same or similar manufacturer, which is probably why I got banned. Why buy the LED for 300 when you can buy it on their site for 700?!?!

Honestly, I don't care if it's coming from China -- All these LED's are manufactured there anyways, not to mention, this company offers a 3 year warranty. Don't care about an extra week of shipping or going through more of a hassle to get an item warrantied, a quarter of the original price will make up for it!

CFL has a sub-forum in the "Indoor Growing" section. Can we get one for LED?
Yah whos the indoor mod? I mean right now you have to search through all the other grows to find LED grows(hahah which isnt too bad ;) ) but i think it would be easier for the community in general to document and watch the progress of LEDs if there was a single place where we could post.

I picked up a 2011 180 watt Pro-Grow from Hydroponics Hut on eBay for a STEAL. (I would say the price but it really was that cheap)
If anyone is interested:
(For arguments sake I'll just call them White/Red, these refer to the switchable light spectrum)
White Only - 81 Watts
Red Only - 76 Watts
Full - 156 Watts
Keep in mind this also includes the 3 fairly loud fans on the back. HH quotes on their website; Power Consumption: 130w (full illumination)

Very excited to put this in the tent tonight.

I know quite a bit about growing, and I am currently designing a new GroStar model that is Led based. I can tell you this though right off the bat, light is not the real reason plants grow, it is a heat cycle. Picture this, lets say that we want to grow a pound of pot. Now this is going to take say 60 days, and lets say that we are growing 4-4oz plants to do this, following me so far? Now in order to do this grow the plants will use about a 100 to a 150 gallons of water, which no matter how you look at it, has to be turned into vapor, which takes energy, and therefore heat, so Led's are great source of cheap (To Operate) light, the reason we get big buds from Hid is because of all the excess heat that is generated. I am working on a Nat gas/propane powered system that provides the heat and co2, for that cycle, and Led's for lighting, as well as highly reflective material in a contained environment. So experiment away everyone, find the right balance of light that you need, and remember that you have to have the energy for the heat/humidity cycle to operate. Oh, and by the way I invented the GroStar.

Cheers,
Did you bid at the last second.... Then you're the culprit who outbid me. (skeptical face)
But really grats :) get some babies growing under it and post some bud porn for us!!

Ghb I have no experience with led grows under my belt yet! But I have read a Ton and from what I've heard from people growledhydro makes nice quality lights. Also progrow by hydroponicshut (as the user above just bought).

Haven't done enough research to suggest any others but those two brands ive seen multiple good grow journals. Hopefully others will chime in with their opinions!

It could have honestly been me, I've been bidding on their auctions since late August. (I think he has a few accounts; 6,5,4,3..etc but only use the one)
Seems they skipped putting one up tonight. :(

If it was me, my apologies. I know how much it sucks to lose an auction, especially one you want.

All good sir, sounds like you had been waiting much longer than me. And I ended up getting one from Ben anyway. :P

What pile of bull-shit did you pick that out of? I may only have a vocational degree in horticulture, but I know FOR A FACT that vaporized water has nothing to do with plant growth (unless you're running a pure aeroponic system) and that excess heat is detrimental to plants. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say because you don't make any sort of point with your example. Also, if you invented the GroStar, why not mention that in the beginning when you introduce yourself as designing a new Grostar model. From this post I've gathered 2 things, you're conceited, you're probably lying.

to some degree he is correct.... as the leaves heat up they require water to transpire out of the stomata... when the water turns into gas this cools the leave and "pull"s more water up from the soil... But I think this is ONLY water that is pulled up through the xylem, it pretty much has to do with water pressure within the plant.... As far as nutrients that the plants use to make essiential proteins and what not to grow buds will use the phloem which is the nutrient rich vessel , pretty much sap....

On the other hand... try just "heating" up your grow room with no light and all your going to do is slowly kill the plants.... if the leaves get to hot, the plant will use energy to keep the leaves cool , so its not what you want.
