That's what one of my buddies in high school always used to say about weed. But that was a long time ago, and the culture of cultivation has come a long way since then.
I love flavors and aromas as much as the next grower, but something of what my meat-head high school friend has always stayed with me. I wonder how many people are smoking weed primarily for the flavor? Let me guess... zero.
I don't know about you, but I smoke weed to get high. I've tried many, many strains and have encoutered situations where one strain tastes/smells better while the other strain gets me more mind-bendingly high. Guess which one I pick?
Edit:
A note on General Hydroponics. I will agree that flavor transferal through your res water isn't a valid notion, but I will say that certain nute lines will leave a 'thumbprint' on your strain. I suspect GH products do this. I've compared same strain grows with associates not using GH but something else, and our harvests ended tasting / smelling different. GH tends to leave a 'peppery' or 'spicy' characteristic to the final aroma of OG's that my friend's crop just didn't have. Is this a good thing or bad thing? I've had people from local shops go both ways. Some love, love, the unique spicy tint to the aroma while others want a purer og smell.
Note: Elite OG Kush strains are more sensitive, harder to grow, and yield less (dontcha just love 'em?)... The GH thumprint phenomenon has only shown itelf on these various top-shelf OG strains I've grown. With big budding, easier to grow strains, I've not experienced the Gh thumbprint.
I'm starting to think about the brand name itself "General Hydroponics." I want my brand do be called "Marijuana Hydroponics" or better yet, "OG Kush Hydroponics."
