I like to think of it as plants still gain height through preflower which is the time that you switch to 12/12 until the time they show flowers then at the start of flowering only bud growth gains the plant height. The fact that the light period is reduced for flowering probably means the plants stretch during preflower a little more than in the veg period.
It is the week or two preflower that you should consider before flowering and not necessarialy do plants double in height when switching to flowering or by harvest, consider an 8 foot marijuana plant switched to flowering, what you saying it gona be 16 foot by time it finished? Peace

Update start of week 5.
Any advice on why some of my pistils are turning brown? seems to be some the smaller buds not the colas.

Pistils on my grow turn brown from the third week onwards, flowers only last for a specific amount of time then they wither, this will happen with ever increasing frequency until harvest.
The bud is just a large collection of individual flowers, as new ones form so do old ones wither and die, eventually they are all past blooming and the bud is ready for harvest.
Perfectly natural dude and exactly what you want to happen, of course the same can happen if the flowers are pollinated! Peace

Thanks Kingrow1 for the Info.
I have another question, I give it 1/2 strength nutes
Botanicare Nutes 1/2 strength according to their chart.
Distilled H20
Nute + H20 is 6.5 Ph
I am going to change to filtered tap, distilled price is going up....
Should I nute every other watering, or maybe 3rd watering, my pots are small and drain well so I they get lite and dry in 2 days.

Well i cant answer, nute as your plant tells you, looks like you could get away with upping the levels a little but why screw with somthing thats got you this far. Ask other growers or just go with what experience you have, too tricky for me to call, too much and your screwed and too little and well small deficiency. I grow in small pots and make sure i dont get salt buildup by getting one third runoff plus small plants dont eat a lot but with the rest your on your own or take others advice.
I will say this about tap water and that is that it is different to distilled water, it has calcium and magnesium in and other elements that are good to the plant in small doses, about 100ppm to 200ppm normally means good quality tap water for plants, i could go on all day about water but if i just post the link it will be easier for you to read up -

If you are you have done really really well, lovely productive small grow op, congrats and great pictures, loving the bud porn and reckon you got a lot of things right to get to this stage, keep it simple and im sure you will reach that magical harvest. Peace

Yep, got the 150 HPS and it rocks, I also have 2 42w 2700cfl's. I need to use sunglasses when I do maintenance....
Good idea on keeping it simple...I am learning to just let them tell me what they need..like 1/2 Nutes...and patience...

Best way to add ferts if uncertain is to give a dose, wait at least a week and then see the difference. Once you have worked out wether it was good or bad you can plan when the next dose is needed. If you gave it ferts and then again three days later you will have no chance to gauge what the plant is doing from the first ferts. Good luck dude

Week 8, Hope its getting near harvest time!!!
Leaves are turning yellow and falling off, buds are looking good, pistils are turning brown. trichs are still clear.
Any suggestions on how long till harvest?

Light on temps are 75-78F, Dark temps 69F, RH 40%. 1/2 Botanicare strength nutes, the pots are small so I water about every 2 days. Nute every other watering. First grow so I am learning!!

Cool. Reason I asked about temp was that I noticed that the very tips/edges of your leaves are slightly pointing skyward. That can be a sign of heat stress or troubles transpiring, which tends to be common in small spaces. But, everything else looks good, maybe I'm just being picky.
