Female Drivers

Maybe it is just me, but when I see a guy riding in the passenger seat and his woman driving instead, I cant help but feel that the guy is a total pussy. It just looks wrong, like a metaphor for who is really in control in the relationship.

I guess its ok if it is a Friday or Saturday night and she is the DD, but during the day? That just feels wrong.

I have a brother, he doesn't like driving, if he had a girlfriend who did like driving, there is no issue of control, it makes sense for him to sit in the passenger seat.

Have you seen recurring incidents of the same person being driven by the same woman or just one off sightings? Maybe they were hungover, worn out, maybe they've had a drink and she's chauffering him to the pub or something.

Remember, don't drink and drive, but if you've a designated driver, then there's no excuse not to get hammered :D

I enjoy driving, owning a newer car i was very fussy who i let use it especialy men ;)
I dated someone for 2 yrs who could not drive since he lost his license to DUI , it annoyed me but i never looked at him like he was a pussy, as long as he can fix my car i will drive it.I did the online dating thing and found out very fast that alot of people who live in the city (Toronto) don't own vehicles since it costs a fortune to park and driving anywhere takes forever!!! I never even got my license until i was 23, i always dated guys with their own cars;) But i wll admit nothing beats riding shotgun in a big truck when a sexy men is behind the wheel ;)

Reminds me of the old joke" "I'm the boss in my house! (My wife said it was OK for me to say that).

Is your manhood really that fragile?
Since when were men 'in control' of the relationship?
How about viewing her as a partner instead of a flunky.

Around town I will let my girl drive if im too lazy or been drinking. But any long drive I always drive. I can't stand not beeing in control. Anything that's open (bike, quad, snowmobile ect..) I can not be riding passenger if a girls driving. No way.

Both my trucks are stick also so my girl can only drive hers that's automatic. Sucks when I want her to drive me home if I've been drinking but she can't. I've taught her how to do it but she's still scared to go out on the streets.

But overall female drivers suck...no offense ladies

A common male delusion but if you are considering safety, the facts are just the opposite. Through most of their lifetime of driving, male drivers are 2-3 times more likely to be involved in a serious accident. Even on a per mile basis (men drive more miles than women on the average) , male are about 66% more likely to die in a fatal accident.

Here is the first indictment.

This study goes into much more detail.

Capture1.jpgCapture2.jpg

"From Figure 1. we can see that in the age category 20-29 years the fatality rate for males (including drivers, passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, etc.) was 535% greater than that of females. The difference between the sexes declined sharply with age – the difference between men and women in their sixties and older being insignificant"

Men are probably better at car handling skills than women. They tend to make better race car drivers, but driving safely is a different matter.

If you want to get home alive, let your wife drive!!

No no no no no. What you're saying isn't completely accurate. You stated that women are safer drivers. But your data says otherwise. What you really showed is that women are less experienced drivers. You showed that in a high-speed situation, women are going to crash and burn more often.

-.-

Briefly

Your data stated that men are more rounded drivers excelling in more fields than women.

While women are more adapt to the city streets, surely from driving the kids to soccer practice in the mini-van.

Where do you see that in the data that I quoted?. It simply shows that in every category men are far more accident prone than women.

There is no mention of mini vans or soccer moms and driving experience is mentioned only incidentally as the number of miles driven and there is no statement in the data about the range of experience (more rounded).
