I know that sucks but there is a silver lining to this dark cloud. Instead of yanking it up, just let it go and pollinate itself; all the seeds it produces will be feminized. If you get a little bit of bud to smoke, all the better, but seeds are more valuable than the week itself.

I would let it grow but I also have a couple others in the same closet. since i plucked off the pollen sacks, is there a chance everything will goo smooth or am i expecting a lot more sacks to appear?

since i ripped off the pollen sacs from all around the plant before they could open and polinate the buds shouldnt I be fine. I know seed will be produced if the buds are pollinated, so If i dont let the sacs that appear open up wouldnt I be in the clear. and i got a question....once a bud is pollinated, if no other sacs are arouns can the bud its self pollinate the other plants? thx all

as i understand it the first generation of selfs s1, should be ok, only a small percentage should hemmy, if you grow out s1 generation and then they pollenate the seeds from the s1s become s2 generation this is where it becomes bad, s2 shouldnt be grown they have much higher hemmy risk :)

you could/will still find seeds. Is it your only plant? If it was my grow and i had all kinds of time invested I would cut the balls off and keep an eye on it.I my self just got done with Hermie plant. got my seed stock and some smoke.

if the male flowers are localized to just one or 2 areas, just picking the male flowers off carefully can work well, if its covered in male flowers it might not be such a good idea to keep it

you have to also remember , that pollen stays viable for quite sometime, when you are finished, you must clean up the room very carefully, the area could become contaminated with pollen .. be careful or your next crop could throw some seeds too

I got 3 other plants in the grow but no balls on the others. I think im just going to let it grow and pick off and pollen sacks i see start to appear. If it gets out of hand then i guess ill chop it down. my goal is not to let the sacks open. if i can do this can I still expect lots of seed or just a few here and there

sticky sounds like a good plan to me :)

i found with a plant that seeded quite bad that it didnt really effect the high or resin content at all, but the flavor was totally lost from the strong hash flavor it should of been to a mild flavor with no hash taste at all .. even the buds that had no seeds in, seemed to lose their flavor

if you can get ALL the pollen sacs before they send out any pollen theoretically you wont get any seeds but that is nearly impossible you can expect a couple seeds but not to many. obviously more on the herm than the other plants.

Hmmmmmm. So how do major seed companies make their female seeds, besides using colloidal silver? I would recheck your facts.

you should check your facts because herm seeds will most likely be a hermie.your only half right. heres a piece fom Cannabis Culture Magazine
"It was very difficult to make these seeds," he explained. "There were several years of experiments that went into this. At first, we relied on the fact that if you let females flower a long time without getting pollen, near the end of their life cycle some will try to pollinate themselves. But this did not produce a reliable amount of pollen. Then, we tried hormone and chemical agents. The hormone produced pollen, but it also affected the plants in other ways that we didn't like. We tried other applications, and found some that could change basic female plants into plants that produced pollen, which we then used to fertilize other 100% female plants to produce what we used to call ?female seeds.'
"A lot of people think we have created hermaphrodites, but we take 100% female clones, and apply a safe chemical so the clones produce abundant male flowers. Then we take that pollen and fertilize other females with it. Seeds from this method will usually grow out female.
"In the beginning, some people were telling us that the seeds weren't producing all females, but we've discovered some strains don't work well with this process, and some of the success depends on the way they're grown. Now, we aren't getting those complaints. I sell a guy 300 seeds, and 298 of them grow out female. We are seeing that level of reliability."

Yeah I dont really copy and paste facts from other growers. I usually experience it for myself and reply off of personal knowledge. I've had hermies before with the sole intention of making female seeds. Of course theres one more step that is needed. I wouldnt go as far as to say hermie plants are useless. I've used hermie plants to pollenate female plants with great success. The pollen from the Hermie pollen sacks would need to be pollenated with a Female plant. I believe this is how some people do it for a more clean way of producing seeds rather than using a chemical.

im sorry im not a professional scientist like the guys i quoted and neither are you so neither of us is more qualified to say how feminized seeds are made. i didnt take that bit from some grow i got it from a professional magazine that use scientific facts

How do you know what I am? I could be Barack Obama growing from my grow room in the white house for all you know.:lol::lol:

Maybe I am a scientist working on a cannabis break through that will revolutionize the growing industry.

Yes, I am the president of the United States. Joe Biden and I are ripping bong hits while throwing darts at a world map to see who we want to bomb next.
