CROP #2 using bubbles

Hello...I will go over what I do when I take cuttings....The next time I take cuttings I will take pics....I take a cutting with with razer blade and I slice the stem into quarters up about an half an inch...then I dip it into clonex gell then put it into the plug...when the roots start growing they hang down in the clone bucket until they find the water in the bottom of the clone bucket...inside the bucket I use a ECO264 sumersible pump I leave the filter on the pump so the roots don't get sucked up into the pump...the water level is to the top of the spigot on the top of the pump....I use clonex solution for food even if I grow for eight weeks in my clone bucket...I start with about 300ppm then as they get bigger I go as high as 600-700ppm....

The roots are pretty long after two weeks....but I useally go around 3 weeks just to give them more of a head start....somebody that has been doing this awhile helped me set this up....It's the only method I know...It works good...I use a 90w led UFO for my clones...

I hope this helps feel free to ask me anything more....
I pretty much do what you do. Except I just put my plugs in a tray

Beaverhuntr....Right on ...is there some way you could post a pic....this is my set up...

I like pictures...just like to see what kind of tray you are using...
Just one of those seedling trays with a dome. I dont clone to often, I do need to start doing it. I want to build a clone box pretty similar to your cloner except i will be using a tote . I dont have any pics right now I'm at work.

This is the end of week #2

leaves are up two 12" wide...I am thinking of doing a little triming to get more light into the bush.....

This strain grows pretty tight and bushy....I tryed to bend some limbs out but they tend to break off....

you intrested in trying to fim them m8

Yes I was interested in fimming...I just went back out and cut some leaves off so I could see the under growth....I will let them recover and maybe look at topping them in a few days....This strain grows pretty tight I got to get them to spread out without breaking limbs....before I make them bush out anymore

Looks great NH. Plants look very nice and setup looking nice and clean as usual!! Your system doesn't constantly flow-through correct? It just simply ebb's and bubbles?

I'd LOVE to find someone who'd give my concept a whirl, and you seem to be pretty close to it. I don't have the funds or space to try (yet), I'm also not knowledgeable enough in this type of growing to diagnose problems. The customer in front of me at the hydro store the other day had a big order so I had a chance to really look over the under current/recirculating dwc system they had on display. It wasn't running though. My idea is quite similar but IMO much more efficent and would produce much more bubbles, plus could be applied to many more plants over a much larger space. This thing was like 4x4 and cost a few hundred bucks.

Keep it up. Hope for a reply.

My system does not flow trough...just bubbles and drips....

I run six buckets and a float bucket.....I have a barrel that is 14" off the ground so the float bucket is gravity fed...no pumps...water is in the buckets with air stones all the time...

I have a pump plumbed into the system for changeing the nutes...just a real simple set up...heres some pics..Feel free to ask anything more...

I get it! Well for the most... I think I understand the flow directions and stuff. It's like an ebb and grow correct? I've seen one of those in person.

May I ask where you derieved the idea to elevate your tank? Way to go I love it.

Your system is similar to my concept in sort. Right now it's just pen and paper - but it's in my head. It seem's few people's grows actually use gravity intelligently in their system and I want to bring that to peoples attention. Realistically, the best thing to do is have elevated surfaces and run bottom in top out - not the other way around. At least for the recirrculating people. Plus if we want the best out of bubbles, I think we should be using 1/2 or 1HP blowers from jacuzzi's coupled with homeable distribors and manifolds. I've done it for non-cannabis applications so why not for this.

The owner of a grow store showed me what he does....real nice guy...I bought everything from him....he gets the credit for the way I am set up with the gravity set up...

If it wasn't for this system I would have a hard time growing because of my job...when I work I am gone for 3 to 4 and sometimes 5 days in a row...And my wife takes care of the garden...all she has to do is check the float bucket...and make sure the barrell doesn't run out of water...I have two 20 gal tubs full of PH'd water that she could dump into the barrell if she has to...

when the plants get big they use up to 6 to 7 gal per day....So I keep everything handy and it isn't much work for her....we have kids in there 30s and 40s so we are not young anymore.....I try to keep everything simple..and this system does that....

I will be standing bye have a good day.....

Thanks for the detailed explaination NH! I'm repping you, which I don't do often!!

I think that grow store owner is a good guy to talk with and take advice from. It sounds like he hasn't given in to the "appeal" of fancy plug and play corporate produce item's and still likes to use his brain - plus pass that knowledge down to his customers. I think that it's great that your system is easy enough that your wife can care for it in your absence, and additionally, that she will do it for you. My wife doesn't know much about whats going on, but she does like to peek.

My design actually comes from making Koi ponds (filtration systems). Yes you can go out and buy things like drains, skimmers, sieves - but without a knowledge of how to make all the plumbing work intelligently, it all ends up failing. Also, I was taught by one of the industry's best, who promotes "home made" biological filters over commercial ones. The type of filters we make could be made commercially, however it would be foolish (for reasons I could explain if you were curious. :)) My mentor worked in an oil refinery for over 30 years so he has a vast knowledge of how pumps and 'plumbing' systems work. He's the BEST. He has grown plants before inside of the filters, but more so just dropping net pots in and leaving them - not physically trying to grow good plants.

I'm still working on getting all of my ideas of paper. Perhaps someone in this thread, or maybe one of your friends on here will see it and maybe can help change design a bit. I'd love to see someone attempt to build it.

6 or 7 gal per day is a lot! Thats some great information, as when your running a contionous system that loss of water can shut you down!

Thanks NH your the best! I look forward to chatting and updates.

I tought the plants would be a little bigger this week...My PH has been dropping every day lower than I like...

My res is at 6.2 and in two days my buckets go to 5.1

I don't remember it doing this on my other grows as much....I am begining to wonder if some of my nutes are old...I just put GH micro gro bloom in barrell this time...these nutes are fresh but my florishus grow is old so I left it out this time to see if the PH would stablize....

Last week I did cut some shade leaves off to get more light into the bush...here's some pic's

These's pics are from day 1.....then week 1...week 2...I messed up on the third pic it is week 3 in third pic...

Supz Nitro. Plants are looking good. I've always found that if my PH drops rather than raises then my nutez are too strong. Try adding some PH'd water to your already-mixed rez' to see if that helps ;) Dilute them out a bit and hopefully your PH will stabilize. Just a thought and happy growing!

Looking GREAT Harley!!!!

Do you have pulleys to raise and lower the lights or are the nodes growing that tight with the lights at the top of the tent?

Keep it going!

Hey Buddy...

I have pullys..the lights are a little over two feet from the tops right now....I wish they would stretch out more...They seam to grow really thick and bushy every time I have grown this strain...I have to trim leaves so the lower limbs can get some light... NH
