Edges of Leaves "Burning" (Pictures)

Can somebody please identify what this is? I believe it's some sort of nutrient deficiency. I've got four plants in one hydro res, and all of them are showing this slightly, although the one in the pic is definitely the worst. Theyre at Day 19 from seed, so I'd like to fix this before they start to flower in the next couple days. Ph is being kept at around 6.0

(idk how to link to pics correctly apparently, sry)

I've been using the no-name nutes that came with my growbox, but with this happening I think I'll be getting some good name brand stuff today at my local hydro shop. If anybody's got a suggestion for which hydro nutes I should try for a small dwc with autoflowering plants, let me know please. Thanks guys!

well i'm going to buy new nutes today. Which would you suggest? I'm assuming good nutes with have enough cal/mag that I won't need to buy extra.

sorry man, I disagree. What kind of lights are you using, and how close are they to the plants? Seems to me like it's just an overheating issue.

I'm using three 13W CFL bulbs plugged right into a power strip. they're about 18" above the plants. My box has two computer fans, in and out, although the out has a carbon filter that I think is blocking too much airflow so I may remove the filter.

Looks like nute burn to me also. I used the no name nutes first and it worked fine. You should flush and just use good water for a day then use a lite nutrient solution. I have now switched to the Flora series and the girls are very happy :) Pic from day 19day19.3.jpg

How could that be sir when the new growth on the top is healthy and green? I'm sticking with cal/ mag..

If it matters, I just noticed that one of the plants has burning on the very tips of it's newer top leaves as well. Definitely not cool. Could this mean that it's possibly nute burn?

Nutrient burn starts at the bottom where its first absorbed and works its way up. Your plant will go into shock and stop growing after a while but it's all easily fixable

I gotta say I think you're right chem dawg, you're not the first person to suggest that's the problem. So I think I'm gunna stick with my nutes and just buy some CALiMAGic. Do you think I should need to flush or add new nutes or anything? or just add some cal/mag to the res. And also how long will it be until i know if it works?

Im no poser man so to be honest im no hydro pro. Im an organic soil guy. But i am on my first hydro run at the moment so if i were u I would flush and introduce some cal/mag.. either by way of a stand alone product (caliMagic) or with a nutrient base fertilizer that contain the cal/mag in it.

And any help is appreciated btw guys, if anyone has other advice please chime in. I've never grown before in my life, so I need as much help as I can get. I'm glad I picked hydro instead of soil, but it's definitely a challenge for someone new like me.

Also bro if you read the information on the pics I posted it tells u how to treat .
thanks man I appreciate it. I just went out and bought some CALiMAGic, and added .75 tsp to my reservoir (it's only about one gallon) along with .5tsp of h202 just to keep it sterile. I'm really hoping this fixes it, but if it seems to be getting worse I'm gunna flush and clean the res and start with fresh water and nutes. Results will be posted!

Good luck man! Keep me posted!

also, I've read that this could possibly be due to my reservoir being too small. Does anyone know if that could be the cause of the burning edges and discolorations of the lower leaves? I've got 4 plants in a one gallon dwc reservoir. It's supposed to be a micro grow as they are in a small box, but I think I need to upgrade to a 4 or 5 gallon res instead.

In such a small reservoir you can run into differential nutrient uptake. The plant takes what it needs or greeds first ... leaving an imbalanced nutrient solution behind. If your plant's wants and the nute formula are mismatched for whatever reason, a small reservoir leaves a short "sweet window" during which your plants are well-fed. A larger reservoir, with a larger amount of each nute to give you a figurative flywheel effect, should help a lot. cn
<edit> Out of curiosity, how often do you change your nutes out? What is your method for determining that interval? Apologies if i missed that part.

<edit again> I looked at the pic. In good conscience I cannot agree with the diagnosis of Ca/Mg deficiency. Simple overfert. Do you have/use an ec/tds meter?
Imo a good hydro nute is good ol' GH Flora three-part.
