ok ty i understand now i was just under the impression u had another pot inside lol stoners (me). so basically thats gonna take a shitload of perlite and vermiculite to fill a 3 gallon bucket, but i was thinking of getting the biggest rubbermaid i can find and put like 5 in there. i am going to start small tho and prolly get a small one with just 2 femi nl/skunk in it wallys world here i come

Thanks hearmenow, I'm definitely going to try this on my next grow. I was going to go DWC but after reading that DWC isn't the easiest way to go and HB was, I'm sold!! Can't wait for my next grow to start (4 wks to go).

Thanks ,hearmenow I think I will use your method. I'm a complete newb, but have read many threads so far and think it should be easy enough baring problems. What nutes do you use from seed to cut?

Also maybe you can answer what lighting do you recommend from seeds to cut. If anything the space isn't grand just a closet. I would say my space is about 2Wx4Lx5H. I'm looking to get max yield and how many do you think I can fit in that. I would like to start with 10 fem seeds.

Anyone use clay pellets in a hempy bucket system? Also, do you need to have the hole going to nothing, or can you have a clear tube from that hole running up along the side of the bucket, and once you fill to the plastic tube you stop watering, that way no overspill?

The similarities and simplicity of the hempy bucket to the bato bucket system suprises me. Both use a 2" or so resevoir with an over flow whole in a 3 gallon bucket. The only difference is the bato bucket uses a pump with drippers, where the hempy bucket you fill by hand, right? anyone use a bato bucket before?

hearme now thanks for retyping the mthod..it seems people are just looking at the last couple pages....peaople i have detaled pics an posts in the first 3-4 pages that will awnser most if not all the questions.....an as for the tube...yes you can use that to catch the overflow..but like i said after a couple runs...you'll know how an when to water the HB...I REPEAT READ THE FIRST COUPLE PAGES BEFOR ASKING QUESTIONS.....PEACE az

I read all seven, I was just wondering if you had advise for or against the tube. I just didn't really want to put a spill tray under it, and didn't want water running out of the hole all over the place. Thanks tho az

i wasn't actually referring to you in that statement....i can tell by your post that you read it....i did also awnser you in that reply....i find that lining your grow floor with a tarp works best...if you have overflow it evaporates in the air...peace az

love the idea dude , ive read hempys posts on a few other forums man can that guy moan like a bitch. If people are even discussing any ideas on modification or improvement he goes spare .

This is not new. Its the same principle as having your pot in another pot so that the water goes out through the holes and fills up other pot.

But its much simpler which is brilliant.

Oh also if hempy reads this ......learn to spell dude , i hate reading your posts since they are full of atrocious spelling mistakes!!!

When using the Hempy buckets...

I have never been able to succesfully use soil based nutrients prepared in any fashion. Only hydro nutrients have worked for me.

I have had some great crops with a reusable medium (comparable to turface). But the results were nothing compared to when I use a mixture of 3 parts perlite to 1 part vermiculite.

yes i have heard some people who are unable to use soil based nutes..but everytime i run em they work for me...i personally use foxfarm grow big an tiger bloom...but the 3part gh works great to....peace az

Tips When Using the Hempy Buckets...

Depending on your environment, you may have to water seedlings and young plants twice daily. Their roots have not reached the resovoir on the bottom yet and will starve in the lifeless medium you have thrown them in!

Once the plants are "established" you should use hydro nutrients and feed with every watering. I have never had a problem using 3/4 strength hydro nutes and I water/feed "established" plant every two/three days.

Pros of Hempys Buckets

Damn good results, explosive growth and you dont have to deal with all the bells and whistles of a mechanical hydro system.
I have never once had to check PPM or pH nor had any problems because of this.

Cons of Hempys Buckets

The plants eat a lot of nutrients, more so than other methods (in my opinion).
The plants need more attention than when utilizing other grow methods (in my opinion).

Ultimatley...
Hempy's take a bit getting used to, but once you have everything in, you will toss your other hydro systems and invest in some buckets. And save your soil for outdoors.

depending on what nutes you run..pk booters an such....i would never recomend feeding with everywatering..just my 2cents..peace az

I read the whole thread, but sometimes another person can say the same thing that makes more sense to someone else.

Is there any problem with running this alongside a soil pot? I've heard that you shouldn't run soil and hydro together, but would this work?

its fine to run this system next to soil....like hearme said keeping moms in soil while pushing clones in hempy....peace az
