My First Grow! I Have A Few Questions.

I am at the start of my first grow. I got some clones of white widow and super silver haze. I guess I could have picked an easier strain at first but, so far so good. I have one WW that decided to droop a little. Maybe lean is a better description. I've attached a photo of all the plants. I put a stick and a loose tie wrap to hold it up. I just watered them last night and I woke up to this. I think I used water that might have been too cold. I did wait to get the water to room temp but maybe I was too hasty. I put a "stick on" thermometer on the water jug for future reference.

The first picture is the "lean" and the second is my solution. Aside from the lean the plant seems healthy. One fan leaf has a little bit of a curl but I may have overwatered slightly. I'm still getting the hang of it. I lifted the pot and it seemed to be the same weight as the last time I watered. These girls are 2 weeks old after clone.

The other pictures are for reference so you can see how the others are doing. I used to gorilla grow years ago and a few backyard batches. I am new to the whole indoor thing.

My stuff:

4XT5 53watt 6500
6 foot veg table
2x4x6 (It's really 3X5X7, They measure weird) Sun Hut inside a 10X10 room
Value Line 6" Fan
Phresh 8X14 Carbon Filter
Yield Master II classic hood
600 watt HPS
Fox Farm Ocean Forrest Soil
Not using nutes yet. The soil should be good for 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for any help!

The leaning could be from the cold water or from stretching. IMHO to many plants and to far apart for that much light. Group them closer and raise them a bit or lower the light if you have hangers.

I can lower the lights and group them together better. When you say too many plants and too far apart for that much light, are you suggesting that I have too much light? I think I understand what you are recommending but I just want to clarify. Grouping them closer and lowering the light will promote "bushier" plants?

Definitely get those lites 2-4" from plantrs, maybe drape some mylar down sides of lights for reflection...

When you grow weed with anything else but HPS growlight you have to make sure its close enough to have strong penetration but not close enough that it burns ur plants or causes heat stress.Closer together just makes it easier for the lights to make a good strong penetration.

I just ordered some mylar today. I was thinking that when I looked at all the pictures here. I noticed everyone is using that to veg as well. Thanks!

bro just lower the lights close enough where it wont burn put the back of your hand to see if its hot enough if the hand can with stand then the plant can also gl

Thanks for everyone's support! The Mrs. and I are really bitin' at the bit for some White Widow and we never had Super Silver Haze. We heard it's a must have so we'll try our own for the first time! Stoked!

I'd also like to get some advice on the tent too. I'll post some pics of how I have things arranged. So far I'm able to keep the room at 77 degrees at 50% humidity. Once I start flowering I expect the room to heat up so I may have to move my veg area or vent the room somehow without pesky, curious, nosey neighbors lookin' around.

everything looks good from here, keep the lights close tho unless its mh or hps. the lean could be the plant adjusting to the light mine move around all the time. sometimes I wonder if i piss them off if they will get up and leave.

yeah buddy mine dance around and chase that light as well. i put mine plants right up against the leaves if i have to to get them nice and close, doesn't seem to bother them at all. they see, to love it actually. i do the same with my flowering girls under cfls. we are gonna get 2 maybe two 600s and partition off half of a spare bedroom to flower in, get out of the closet.
do you live in a home or apartment? you mentioned neighbors :peace:

I have the same exact T5 setup, Hydrofarm designer series, correct? I use it to start seeds and clones. I use it to veg as well from the moment they get put into dirt up through to about the beginning of the 3rd or 4th week. I then add my 400w MH but still use the T5 on the wall focusing on lower branches(instead of cutting them off or "lollypopping" like so many people do). These T5's are great for flower too so T5 haters don't get it twisted lol. With a HO bulb with the proper Kelvin temperature(2100, 2700, or 3000K) these babies produce just about as dense a bud as a 400 or 600 watt HPS. It will veg and flower plants good by itself but with a tiny bit of umph from a slightly larger light source will show in your yield. Nonetheless T5 is cheaper to run and is a lot less of a heat emitter. Your light is set perfect now bud keep it that close ALL THE TIME. My leaves may lay on a bulb here and there and with an oscillating fan going you will most likely not burn a thing. Looking good bro.

btw the water temp going into a plant does not matter a whole lot. Obviously you wouldn't use ice water but it is ok to use water that is cold to the touch. If you were baking in 90 degree heat all day wouldn't you like a cold glass of water?

I made the changes everyone recommended. I must admit they look much better. I also added a little more fan speed. Thanks everyone! Looks better already.

Fantastic! WOW, they are loving it huh? Glad the leaning issue has curtailed. You should also start noticing some new node development as the begin to bush out. They are at a very exciting stage of growth and are really gonna start to take off, you won't believe your eyes!
