When I first started growing, I tried unsuccessfully to start a 12 site Ebb & Grow setup. I watched it not grow for a long time and then switched to soiless mix in smart pots.

Now I want to try some hydro again. This time it is not for bigger or faster yeilds like before, I just want to learn more about the plant and how she ticks.

I'll be using 2 Lowes buckets fitted with 1/2" tube connections. The one in the plant bucket has a little cage over it to attempt to keep roots from pluuging it.

I bought one of those 12 site irrigation kits from Lowes for $15 and fitted it to a $15 pump with a piece of the 1/2"tube. Then I ran 2 lines to the bucket the plant would be in. Right now the buckets are together in the veg room. When moved to flower, I'll make longer tubes to keep the res out of flower.

I bought a pack of T connectors and made a drip ring with 4 watering sites. Should be able to keep at least one going.

This thing aerates nicely when on. I run it for 15 minutes every six hours for now.

Here is the clone. I cut her from a plant I started from femenised seed.

She'll veg here for about a month I'm guessing. I'll post some progressive pics along the way to flower.

Couple days later.

I change the res about every 10 days. I like this setup because when I change the res I set the plant on a pop crate first to drain it into the other bucket. Then disconnect the 1/2" tube and 2 feeder tubes, and wash and scrub the bucket and pump. Then I mix new nutes in clean res and hook the tubes back up. Seems like I should be able to keep it pretty clean this way.

I even set the plant on another bucket and cleaned out the plant bucket too, because initially it got a bunch of crap from the hydroton in it. I huess this would work for the plant bucket all the way through flower as long as I could lift her high enough to clear the bucket with her roots. If it's too hard or damaging to her roots I'll just wash the res bucket.

Here's after the move. After rebuilding the veg room I had problems with the light. Long story short I now use EYE Hortilux MH, before it was the EYE Hortilux Daylight Super Blue. That's why the color difference.

During the walkthrough she was stuffed into an Ascender for 4 hours, and then the veg room was sub-par for 2 days till I got it all set back to optimum. That explains the slow growth.

I'm feeding her these, also threw in some bloom from Technaflora because I'm out of GH. These nutes are all old stuff I don't use anymore. I'm mixing it to 400 ppm, 5.8 ph. I check it once about 5-7 days after mixing to correct ph. Then toss around 10 days.

Looking pretty good. I topped her a few days ago. She and the rest in veg are coming around and growing strong again.

Just one question.......how do you fuck up an ebb and grow system???????? It's idiot proof....Set it up, make sure to set the timer right, plant rooted clones, and watch them grow so fast it's sick???????

Please explain what happened with your ebb and grow system, and if you don't like it, I could use another....be happy to take it off your hands. Seriously.

HAha, some guy overheard me at the hydro store and bought it about a year ago. Sorry man.

I think I fucked it up because the roots weren't long enough to get nutrient solution, and I think I was over tending it, always fucking with the ph. Other than those things specificly, I would say I just didn't know what I was doing. I think also I was obsessed about growing as many as I could, which is usually not good for beginners.

I'm starting to understand what people are talking about when refering to explosive growth. This is awesome! Looks like without further training she will have 4 main top colas. I have not decided yet if I want to train her out LST or let her bush more natural. I Better figure it out soon!

VERY nice CC ;) I never get sick of all that lush green! Nice root mass on it as well and I see plenty of fishboning. Ya think she's exploding now just wait another few days...talkin 1"-3" of growth in every direction mane! Truly is awesome to watch them do their thing. I've never done a soil grow so I cant compare, but I've rocked DWC for 3 grows now and I love the results every time so far! Keep em comin

As a dedicated soil grower I am almost ashamed to admit it, but this plant is out-growing everything else in my veg room. Wont be surprised to find myself laying in bed at night thinking about rethinking everything! :lol:

Hows the blueberry/dutch passion genetics? Everyone i talk to has never tried them, blueberry in specific! Thread looks pro, Im strictly a dwc fan, cant grow in soil to save my life. Its too simple or something? Anywayss im drunk n off to tend to the gf ;)! Will sub & rep when i get back to the comp! (mobile viewing/posting nowww)

I'm not sure yet. I have one that is about 8 weeks into flower. I'm also trying their Strawberry Cough, but that one is only a few weeks into veg from seed. This blueberry DWC might be my first true glimpse into her genetics due to problems with the first bush. I don't expect the bush to be full potential.019.jpg

Yeah I am kinda like u I'm that thinking why did I mess around and get all dirty. I mean its not that complicated and growth rate is rediculous, especially in flower. I ran 1 bucket my first round the second I have 5.
oh and great looking grow, can't wait to see the results.
