I sincerely hope you have better luck with her than I have. I know that she can grow large, I've seen other grows, but mine was just not meant to be. You prolly didn't want any of this anyhow.
Unfortunetly its just like that some time

Mmmmm Sour Cream...that one's on my top 100 list. How was it?
The pheno I have is a small yielder with 2 gram buds all over the place. She is a lanky stretcher but the smoke is pure Sour Haze. Really strong smell and taste. I like it alot. Its definetly a keeper. Its one of my favs. It takes 10 weeks to mature. 11-12 to get 40% amber. I like mine at 11 weeks.

I had a Centennial Cut Blueberry and a Further get male parts and pollinated a little bit here and there. I ended up with 4 Sour Cream Bagseeds that I planted this grow to see what they did. I have 4 females that are being sprayed with DM Reverse and DM Saturator that are being watched closely for any hermi action. Im hoping for a good SC x BB.

Hey blue. Seen those pics back on page 20 they are looking good.

Wanted to let you know everything arrived ok. I think I will wait until I am about ready to take clones before I germinate it. Probably germinate it a good week or two before I take clones that way it will be around the same height as the clones once they get going. Haven't replied to the e-mail yet been busy and sick. Still not feeling 100%

If you want to see what I got going on now I will put up a picture. I have Mango. Its only a little girl so I got awhile to go.

I don't recommend using the soil I am using. I had to go with what I could afford. Wanted to get something going quick since its been a year since I was last growing. Getting hit by that car made sure I couldn't grow for awhile lol
But there doing good now. At first the soil was a little hott and it was burning them when they were seedlings. Now that they are older they are doing great. Nice and green and healthy.

Just so you all know. I am currently accepting submissions again for my buds of the week segment. Blue has hers featured on my blog. If you want to submit yours go to my buds of the week page
at http://cannabis-country.blogspot.com/p/pictures-of-week.html You can find where to submit them there. Only flowering pictures though.

Hi all. Wow, I feel like an old veteran now! I've been on RIU only a short while and already I've learned so much my old brain is going to explode, and I've made a world of new friends. So, I'm ready to start ramping up my game. I have one successful grow from seed to smoke and one completed adoption under my belt.

I've started this thread to capture the history of what I've learned, as well as a place to show my progress and learn more as I go forward. This first post is sort of long, so bear with me.

First of all... in order to understand where I started, meet Alice:

View attachment 2013980View attachment 2013982

I had just received my medical recommendation and was studying with the thought of growing my own when I got a call from someone wanting to know if I knew of anybody who could take a flowering plant. To make a long story short, I got Alice from a friend of a cousin of my son's ex-wife's boyfriend. The dude got a DUI and it wasn't his first. This one was going to cost him jail time. He panicked and used his one phone call to call his girlfriend and tell her to find somebody to take his plant so she wouldn't die. And that's how I got her. She was a homegrown offspring of an accidental crossing of Strawberry Cough and something else heretofore unknown. So I call her Strawberry Kiss.

I quickly ran to the internet, and all my searches seemed to land on a thread here at RIU, so I joined up and I have never looked back. And Alice's story ended well. For me, anyway

As a matter of fact, Alice's story ended so well, that I gave her another go:

Thanks to the instructions of a mentor I met here, I cut one of her lower buds about a week before she finished. I then treated it like a clone (which, at the time meant exactly zero to me..) and yet, lo and behold meet Alice 2 officially renamed Strawberry Kiss (and her two daugthers... I caught on to cloning real quick!).

My first complete grow is pretty well documented in my journal. If you want that story, click the link in my signature. That story too, ended well for me. I now have 7 pint size mason jars under my bed filled with Grandma's own weed. By the way, for those who don't know me, I am a grandmother who discovered late in life that I have a bit of a green thumb when it comes to growing weed.

Here's my current stash from my first harvest.

Thanks! Of the three strains I grew in the round, the Kaya was my favorite smoke. The NLB was excellent as well. The Red Cherry Berry was nice, but nothing special on the smoke end. Tasted superb, but the high was pretty mediocre to be honest. The Kaya is kicking my tush, though! I have YET to be able to finish one whole bowl.

I did finish off everything else first and let Kaya cure the longest. Well worth the wait. I may even grow that one again.

Where does that strain originate from? can you get seeds online?

Evening everybody!!! Sorry I've been out of touch for a couple of days. I turned on my computer one evening, answered a PM from a friend, turned my back on the computer to look at something Mr wanted to show me on TV and when I turned back...blue screen. Took me two days to get it fixed. Grrrr.

Okay, back to Grandma's Grow Room!!!

First off, NEW STUFF!!! My 600w HPS/MH light arrived with XL wing reflector and cool tube. As you can see, I had my crew carefully inspect the packaging for damages. Everything appeared to be in order. All the CFL's came down and are packed away for some future use. All together, I had amassed 34 bulbs and fixtures of various sizes and colors.

Once I got everything put right, I put the girls into their new tanning salon.

Here are some shots of the girls in their new light.

These are the Vanilla Kush clones. They are still small, but filling out to be VERY bushy.
DSCF7853.jpgDSCF7854.jpg

And the larger of the Strawberry Kiss clones. The smaller one is looking very sad. She was fine until we moved everything around so Mr and I have decided that either one of us damaged her, or the cats did something because there is no visible reason why she suddenly got so sad. She is from the same plant and in the same soil as the tall healthy one.
DSCF7855.jpgDSCF7846.jpg

Finally, I've decided that my soil mix is not good for seedlings. First the OG Kush shrivelled up and died. The next day, the Pineapple Chunk did the same. I usually let them stay in the rockwool a little longer than I did with these because I was over anxious, I guess. For whatever reason, they are listed among the casualties.

On a brighter note, at the time I got the light, I also got a small set of bubble bags. I didn't have a lot of trim and going forward, I will let it build up more before I have another go at it, but I just had to try it out, and my results were nice!

And, for anybody still reading at this point, I had a geniune scare tonight. My son's ex-wife decided it was time to shift over into full-blown bitch mode. So after she dropped his daughter off tonight, she called the police and said that my house smelled like weed and she was concerned for the welfare of her daughter. Bitch.

So they came knocking at my door this evening. However, I showed them my doctor's note, explained that my ex DIL was a bitch and that she knew full well that I had a legal recommendation. I told the LEO that I had had to call DHHS on her shiftless ass about a month ago and that this was her retaliation. He was very young (and I'm not) and seemed relieved to find just an old grandma, grandpa, daddy, pregnant girlfriend, toddler, and weird middle-aged single uncle having spaghetti dinner in front of the tube and not some drug-crazed maniacal idiots intent on mischief.

He thanked me for my cooperation and left without ever coming in the house. Then I shut the door and fell to pieces. Oh. My. God. I think I need Depends.

Yep, that's her! She looked exactly nothing like that. Totally. Nothing. But some damn fine smoke none the less. Really nice light peppery taste. Very different from anything I've ever smoked. And she really packs a wallop!
Matter of fact (and yes, I did just quote myself, but it's my thread dammit... ) I'm smoking a bowl of Kaya now, sprinkled with a tiny bit of the hash from the pics above, and I am literally VIBRATING.... my whole body is buzzing and I'm flipping high as a kite.

I just reread my update post ... the story about the LEO and relived it all again for a sec. Need another Depends.

Crazy story BlueJeans...

Cool to see that you moved on from cfl's...good for you!

I, on the other hand, am going to have to ride the cfl train for quite a bit! LOL.

Crazy story there, but hey, at least there are states where people like us can get cards! Sorry to hear that she was out to get you though....

But, Blue what did you do with the elaborate c.f.l. light you built?
Very carefully deconstructed it, wound up all the wire, stored the various pieces, and who knows... maybe someday when I have the space, I'll create a monster veg room outta all 34 of them twisty jewels.
