Seeing pistils are just that pre flowers until you take the plant and switch its photo period therefore switching its bud producing genes on and veg genes off so to safely give the plant and yourself sufficient time for it to flip so it is fed right and you dont cut it early give it a week for all the genes to switch to their desired function and count flowering time from there but also flowering times vary from strain to strain so learn and study the plant you are growing also see what others have experienced with the same strain

hope this clears it a bit better for you

right right this i understand. i guess specifically what im wondering is for example when a breeders description says 8 week flower time, does that mean 8 weeks from flipping to 12/12, or does that mean 8 weeks from the 1st sign of flowers, and what exactly is the 1st sign of flower? i understand that this number is not exact, but more of an estimated time frame of ripeness. i currently have 5 strains that i have learned their flowering period, but i have been counting day 1 from when i flip to 12/12. is this wrong, should i be starting day 1 on the first sign of flowers? the breeder says 8-10 weeks, and i have harvested at week 9(from flip) with 70/30 cloudy/amber trics. thx for yr help!!

just subtract 1 week away from the time you started counting it as flipped which you said was when you flip your lights to 12/12................ and all i was trying to convey was its not flowers that matter but the transition into producing just flowers or aka buds that matters

also it is strain specific ie seen strain that were 8 week strains that were done in 7 week and not until 1o weeks

but to truely count your flip just do what i said above okay buddy i promise u wont regret it and always keep an eye on trichs

I always count the days from the day I flipped them to 12/12. I used to start my week 1 in flower after day 10 but it got too confusing for people. At first when I first started to grow I would wait 2 weeks thru the transition stage and then start my weekly count of actual flowering time. So an 8 week strain would actually be flowering for 10. I had pics of a Purple Kush I made and didnt count the 2 weeks in transition and people freaked out because the buds were so huge already at week 2 when they should have just been getting pistols that already had 2 weeks of buds on them. So now I just count the days from when I flip them. Much easier for me and others that way.

i did this so i could make all the tops even with each other and for height restrictions

:leaf:The new closet i converted to grow the male C/O A~1 and will be removing the male C/O A~3:leaf:
and discarding it as it has shown less than stellar genetics unlike its brother A~1.

In this closet im only using a 45w cfl 5000k to prvide light and also using basic mylar for reflection , closet is also placed
on the other side of room to isolate it more from the flower closet.
