i think you might be overwatering...water til you get a bit of runoff. then don't even think about it until the soil has dried out. use the weight of the cup as a good indicator of how dry the soil is. if it's heavy..don't. if it's really light, poke your finger a bit into the surface (away from the plant and it's potential roots) and see what it feels like a bit below the surface. when was the last time you watered? i'd let them rest for a day or two to let them dry out. the roots need oxygen and will rot if you keep them too wet. and at this stage they're just building their roots. you want that as strong as possible because, well it's the root system..haha

What do you mean by runoff? And I'll let them dry out.

meter 004.JPGA word of warning about watering Mg soil. As shap3less suggests, you need water and let it dry out. Every time you water you release nutes, so if you water often, with a little water you release nutes each time and over nute your plant. You will also with the Mg or any other soil with a little water, often you raise your ph and cause nute lock out. I learn this the hard way. Remember don't baby your plants or you will kill them with too much love. One of my biggest problems is I want water too much, I got a moisture meter and stick it in and don't water till it on the Dry side. The one in the picture is three way meter moisture, ph and lumens, It's around 10 buck a cheapie but it help save my plants from me.lol have fun, I will watch....rw What he means is when you water a little water should run out the holes in the bottom of your cups

do you have drain holes in your containers? if not, that's another issue...but just water until some water runs out of the bottom of the container. this will also help flush excess nutrients from the medium every time you water. and like roofwayne said, mg has nutes in it already. i'm using mg soil, and i didn't have any issues with them burning.

think about it this way...if it were growing outside, how often do you get a little bit of rain every day? they are plants, and they can go lengths of time without water..

I've been looking online for hours. I might end up with 6x23w, but for 4 plants thats not even close to enough. I would do HPS, but i have no room for a ballast.
