so what is the best book on breeding . . . . . . as far as i have heard some breeders bottle neck genetics for dominate or recessive traits breeding out the ones they dont like, and then keeping genetic lines open for most possible expressive genes/traits

I just ordered a couple last week that are highly regarded: Marijuana Botany by Robert Clark and The Cannabis Breeder's Bible by Greg Green. Should be here in a couple days.

i haven't done enough reading on breeding to make a recomendation. I do some research by reading basic botany books, and basic genetics books; i have stopped buying almost anythign that says 'cannabis botany' or anything like that.. botany is botany, and i trust peoples breeding idea on marigols and tulips more than someone jacking the price up to and calling it marijuana based..

but i'm kinda uppidy

accept people for who they are . . . well said

i love it when i hear people knock reputable but abrasive breeders . . . .who still have done a thousand times more for this industry then the majority of growers/breeders/users/activist who have only jumped on the band wagon in the last 10 years because they can make a dime and have no other work . . .so now they grow/breed . . . . .

just remember folks this industry has been underground and completely established for almost 50 years, and many have sacrificed there lives and money and time to get where they are . . . .

respect isnt given it just is . . . if you have it for others then others will see it in you as well

old schoolers know what im talking about . . ..
I'm old school, and you're incorrect.

...so here s sum 420 pics pic 4 and 5 are 4 seeded medicine man fems that were pollinated by the best male from that same 10 pack, my first time breeding, but since both parents from the same established strain, I think seed phenos will be uniform...

Thank you friend. Just clipped that for one of my patients. He doesn't like to have couchlock style effects, so I took it at week 8 w/ just a few amber trichs.

Dunno how it smokes yet, but the smell is out of this world. Remember the bubblegum "Big League Chew?"
It smells just like the grape BLC. Seriously if not the best smelling plant I've grown it's in the top 3. Yield was acceptable, average I'd say. No nanners.

I know we've had our disagreements, but I gotta tell you I'm pretty happy w/ my TGA gear thus far. I haven't seen a nanner on any of the 20 beans I've grown so far. Definitely have to pheno hunt, there are some jems to be had. I got 1 pheno of Apollo13BX that's the scrawniest plant I've grown. Rest of that package was pretty uniform and wreaks in veg.

I read someone posting about herms and low yields. I have yet to see that other than the 1 lame Apollo plant. Maybe that guy has grower issues, I dont have those issues with yield or hermies. As far as yield goes, I've noticed over the years that the highest quality genetics are usually not the insane yielders. I prefer quality to quantity as do my patients. I

I'd generally agree with you, but there are things like the old-school G-13 which yields *really* well and produces highly potent flowers.
Absolutely, i was speaking in generalities; i should have been more specific. I had a Violator Kush pheno that was a monstaer yielder and had great quality too. I lost her but thats a sad story for a different day :-(

Think he's referring to the strain G13, not the breeder G13 Labs.

I did grow out a G13 Labs Skunk #1 a few years back, I remember it being a decent yield. Mine tasted more if a sweet and spicy taste, no skunk taste or smell.... Man I want an old school skunk w/ that overpowering skunk smell and taste.

This is from the email confirmation from Attitude on that order:

Product: UFO#1 Dinafem Seeds White Widow

Product: UFO#2 G13 Labs Skunk #1 Feminized
Quantity: 1
Product Code: FREE SEED
Price: $0.00

Product: UFO#3 Dinafem Seeds Blue Hash

I think UFO referred to the name of a special they were running.

Ya UFO is "unbelievable free offer" or something like that. You have the Skunk#1 from G13 Labs, same as I had. Got mine as a freebie from Attitude too

The actual strain G13 is one of those weird pot stories. Some say it came from a government lab, there's a few different stories as to it's origins. Check it out in Google, Seedsman Seeds has a decent article on the whole G13 story

Ahh..so this must be the famed Skunk #1 that Joe P is all fired up about. Heard him rant at CannaMaineia lol

its so far down the F line its not really the same BUT it is the from the one Joe was ranting about.. the scary thing, do your own reading and investigating into Joe's claims and they aren't all that off base.. they will patent that finger print (skunk #1) and become the monasanto of the cannabis world..

get ready with some good old fashioned land races ;) thats wha i'm getting ready to do..
