Yeah I know, it just has to be done very carefully. I have to think through a proper strategy. This is once again a reminder, never tell a soul, and I knew that. Its just nice to have one person to talk to, and I never expected that he would take up my hobby and follow me or I never would have told him. Now, he drives himself nuts trying to keep up with me and his grow looks like shit.
This almost ready to cut down Killing Fields that I have just about ready to go is something he cant touch, modest as it is.
And there aint no bugs ( to speak of) in this not very big but downright gorgeous purple lady.
This is what I'm in it for, and maybe thats the difference.

Oh I know but what can I do? I'm meantime just moving forward with what I do, getting just a little better at it while he just flounders away. I've tried to help him. Ditch the damned Miracle Gro, Get some pot growing soil and some perlite so the things can breath. Forget the CFL lights especially for flowering, I mean he's vegging for 2 months and wants 5 ft plants indoors with CFL lights and thats never gonna fly in a million years. They're fine for a small closet grow but they will never produce anything more than a few popcorn buds on a plant that grew to 5 feet tall. Its asking too much. I know exactly why he's failing. In the end, he wants to make money, but doesnt want to spend it on things needed to do it right.
My theory was, if I cant do it the right way, I wont do it at all. Thats why I'm at places like this reading and reading and reading some more. I dont have much money either, but 'll drive an hour and a half to get the soil I want because I think its that important.And thats where he and I dont see eye to eye.

Cobnobuler, don't feel bad, I'm going through the same situation right now. A buddy of mine is living with me and decided to grow a bit, following me in my footsteps, and his look horrible compared to mine and he is doing the bare minimum as well. I feel your pain and frustration.

Man I tell ya. Today he calls and tells me he found mites on 2 more of his plants so he just pitched them. I didnt have the heart to tell him the truth. They're probably in all of his plants because he has 2 big tents and they're in both of them. He's back out with the bleach and the neem oil and spraying the shit out of everything... Yeeck... I told him a month ago his whole grow was fucked but he didnt want to believe it. I guess he can pitch them one by one. Get this, he asked me if I wanted any clones

Just a little update to this story. My buddy calls me up the other day. When we harvest a plant we always call to announce the final dry weight yield of the latest speciman chopped down, and I could tell by the tone of his voice it wasn't good.
Him: "Guess what I got off that one plant?"
Me: "That infected one?"
Him: "Infected one? You make it sound like it has Leporsy or something"
Me: " It does"
Him: "Anyway, are you sitting down for this?"
Me: "No"
Him: " Two and a half grams"
Me: I imagine half of that is dead spider mites, webs and dried Neem oil"
Him: "Thats not funny"
Me: "So what you gonna ask for that when you put it out there to the masses?"
I call him "Double Dub" now.....

I see that stuff available in the UK but not US. Anybody have a link to US distributor? I dont know why I do this for my buddy, he should be looking himself. I told him about Neem oil and thats all he uses. I told him theres more things out there than that to try.
He won't last long at this. I would just sit back and wait for him to sell his hardware cheap. If I bought anything from him or anyone else for that matter, I would isolate it and spray it and clean it and spray it....rinse and repeat, lol.Just a little update to this story. Well after 6 years and never had the borg invade my space I finally got infected! Not horrible but enough to send me into a rage. Did my research and asked a few good peeps on the net and this is what I found out! #1 buy a gallon of Mighty wash. #2 get a 360 degree sprayer. #4 But a hot shot no pest strip! To use this setup you first throw a pest strip in your area and let it sit for around 3 hours! Pull it out and put in a zip lock. Next fill your sprayer with mighty wash and soak every plant you have top to bottom. Make sure to get the under sides of the leaves! Spray entire room with mighty wash, Everwhere!!! This shit is safe hydro shop guy took a swig of it! All it is is polarized water, it kills them little pricks dead on contact, eggs to. The next day trim all super infected leaves and use a shop vac on every bud and branch! Also put pest strip back in for 3 hours every day FOREVER! Repeat this process every 3 days til harvest! Buy more mighty wash and keep it around your gonna need it! Spray every plant you put in flower and spray again 2 weeks later! You should be good but you have to inspect every couple days and treat as needed! Getting 100% rid of mites is tough but can be done most peeps are proactive in pest control and the rest get infested! Neem oil is ok but you have to wash it off! Bombs are a good bet but watch what you use most are toxic and will need to be washed off of everything before its safe to inhabit the area again! DR Doom?? sells a plant extract bomb that i havent used but is suppost to be safe and non toxic! Good luck and stay away from your friends house and dont let him in your house he will track them in!

dont know if there is retailers in us but its worth its weight in gold and a 250ml bottle will last 5 grows easily enough!!
