I"ll admit I didn't read the whole thread but I voted yes that I took a test for employment.
Will actually I told the lady..
"I cant take the test I smoke MMJ and will not quit using just so they can have My talent,
She looked at me kinda ??? and I told her that was none of their business what meds I use and that its
an invasion of my privacy.
Didn't get the job.LOL!!

I think the biggest reason companies drug test anymore, like, jobs that in the past didn't drug test but now they do is insurance cost are a lot lower when they drug test and do randoms.

So i've heard.

the cable company i worked for tested for exactly this reason. the stipulations were ridiculous. they test you pre-hire, and then they test you if you so much as trip on the rain mat. hit your head? drug test. get stung by a bee? drug test. drop something? drug test.

i shit you not. these are actual incidents that occurred that resulted in drug testing that i can 100% confirm. i also heard (never confirmed) that someone was tested as a result of spinning in their chair.

the "how's my driving?" stickers are for the same reason. cheaper insurance. seeing them on a vehicle is a pretty good indicator that the driver is not part of a union. also, if anyone called on a tech's sticker, drug test.

I worked for a place that would drug test if there was an accident. My friend (a stoner), passed out (it was hot as balls) and fell back and bashed his head. They called up an ambulance and that nonsense (he hit his head pretty hard). He came to and I told the manager I was going to take him home, before they could say no we were out the door. The manager was pissed cause we just left, but had we stayed he would of gotten drug tested and we were able to talk it out the next day when we showed up for work. They were like "Where did you go?", just told him I went to drop him off at home cause he asked me and that I told the manager, which I did, he just didn't have the chacne to tell me no.

Moral of the story, if you get into an accident at work and you know they're about to drug test you, just leave and try to talk it out later. Leave, call them on the phone on the way home or whatever and be like "sorry, but I just had to go". If you're a good worker shit will blow over.

In California, employers are given a discount on their Workman comp if they test.
To bad the idiots at the State level don't realize more people get hurt at work cause their hungover from drinking...

wtf why so many of you stoners ok with drug testing? Its nobodys buissness what you do outside of work if they catch you getting high at work thats different. I myself refuse to work at a job that requires drug testing and not just cause I can't go a month without weed. a crack head can go without crack for three days and still get the job yall are just fueling the war on drugs by saying its ok to drug test every citizen that wants a job. fuck that shit I'm gonna die an outlaw.

The trouble is, the real motive force is the insurers. Employers pay clearly lower rates if they test. Undoing that bit of free enterprise won't be easy. cn

if i ran a company that involved labor, i got tested for my job.. failed for mj got the job anyway because it just mj. but if i ran a crew or something id have to say id test too.. of course id let mj slide but i dont want dope addicts and shit taking all my tools and not showing up for work.. or not being able to work, or like someone else said.. people comin into work drunk or extremely hung over. thats just no bueno when youre working with machines

Unfortunately even those jobs all seem to require drug tests as well!

But they are a dime a dozen. I wouldn't think twice about taking a piss test for walmart while high as a kite and hoping to pass. For that coveted and cushy engineering job...well it might just be worth some sacrifice to get that baby.

i got lucky with my job, found it on craigslist.. bought some cleanser drink crap because the ad said drug test background check.. all that stuff, then i took the test at my work instead of lab testing it. i failed even with the drink lol but i got the job anyway.. im 1099'd

Just wanted to add to the thread. I have and will be drug tested again (pre-employment), tomorrow actually, for a job as an industrial electrician. In Canada, the only way companies can drug test is if you are in a safety sensitive job position. I have no issues with quitting to pass the test, although obviously it would be nice if there was no test to at all. I do not plan on showing up to work high which is what companies should be most concerned about, but understand the lower insurance premiums if they do test.

most every hard drug is out of your system within 3 days except methadone which I heard stays in your sytem 7-10 days but an army recruiter told me it takes between 30-45 days for weed to leave your system.

took me close to 60 days to get clean... (took several home test) I'm not fat, I'm 6'1 and weigh 185 I was just a really heavy smoker...
I'm still waiting to take my drug test... got a job offer and signed the letter and I'm suppose to start on the 20th of this month (yeah me)... I'm suppose to do the drug screen and a physical. They have already asked me shirt and pants size for my uniforms, but yet to have me go test...
it sux cause I want to smoke soooo bad... Drug screens suck and they really only go after MJ smokers, which is bullshit cause I'm in a legal state. Oh will such is life... stay high
