im loving this grow and the style of the of the plants one ? and i dont want to be the dumb ass but how long are you vegging for ??

Nugs, I believe I read you don't use Roots Organic for your base soil. What do you use? I was looking into a mix of Cow compost, Worm Castings and Plant Compost as a base. Then adding the coco fiber, vermiculite and sand to achieve the desired consistency. Finally adding the blood meal, bone meal, vermiculite and such things. Any thoughts would be great from anyone.

i use two different locally made mixes now, but i soon will be venturing into the completely made from scatch vortex.......i don't trust roots, and i don't like bugs, but if you get a good batch, the shit is golden!.....thats the problem.....sometimes great/sometimes really bad..........your right on though with your list ( exc. i wouldn't do sand)....i definately want to go "no peat"......and right now, my local mixes are peat based...so that is the direction i am headed..

Check out this Michigan business. They make Dairy Doo, a cow compost, and are 100% organic. They also make poultry compost and worm castings, plus they deliver. Although I believe they have retailers all over the state. I think I might try them for my next batch. I have a plant based compost up the street from me at a local woodchip place, but I would rather find something else. I don't know how the quality is. If you find one post it up.
