so i dont think i want to buy a inline fan combo with a filter, the deals on amazon are not wat i consider name brand enough and up to the task kind of offers ( they look cheap and bad reviews )

im gonna be ordering a 6in inline fan 440 cfms 125 watt

now im looking for a carbon filter that is great for a size of 4x4 or 5x5 or less that will cover the smell and do its job properly....

anyone have any specific details and help they can throw my way on deciding for a filter

you'll only need a higher cfm fan if you're gonna recirculate in the room. if exhausting you'll use a lower cfm fan and matching filter. probably a can 33 would do, I run a can 50 with a 750 cfm fan and recirculate. if I were exhausting the fan cfm would want to be about half that. This is in a 8 by 5 room, the can 50 does the trick.

whats this recirculate in the room all about im a little confused as to why you would want to recirculate air back into you room?

i was under the impression that you should always exhaust the hot air and have fresh air comeing from an active intake.

i all ways go for filters with more than my fan but one that is matched will do sound..

if you pick one with less cfms than your fan it will not be efficient cuz the filter cant handle the air flow

iPower 6" Inch Air Carbon Filter Odor Control with Australia Virgin Charcoal for inline fan, 420 CFM

the filter is 20 cfms more than your fan

fans are matched to filters because the air has to contact the carbon for a certain period of time, you pull if over the carbon too fast with a big ass fan and it won't totally scrub the air, good luck and happy shopping.

Sorry to interrupt thread but was wondering do I have to change carbon filter once a while or do they last forever?
