c99

Does anybody have any experience with c99? I found some c99 seeds along with a few other seeds. One package says barneys farm but I do not know if that is where the c99 came from as it is not on that package, although that would have to be my best guess.

I grew it twelve years ago. The breeder for this strain was Bros Grimm. Theirs was wonderful and consistent weed. I shudder to think what the Barneys version would be like. cn

Is that good or bad? I can not positively say barneys farm was the breeder but i am making an educated guess due to the fact that the only strain that has a breeder name is barneys farm and they are no longer producing that strain for some reason. These seeds are 2 years old. Maybe 3.

I know Mosca and motarebel have C99 filials and backcrosses. TGA Subcool has some mixes that go in a different direction ...C99 x some Indicas. I wanna go up, darnit!

I personally don't have experience with Barneys, but I've read many a report on these fora that their genetics are (oh let's say this as nicely as possible) not entirely controlled. cn

Well I plan letting the seeds do what they will and see where it goes. There is only 1 strain marked "Barneys farm" The rest are just strain names including 2 seperate bags of c99 - possibly from different breeders? or maybe just bad storage methods....

Possible. I would say that even bad C99 is good weed. The real stuff was top-notch. One day i will buy one of the filials. Right now I have another undead Bros Grimm gem heading my way ... motarebel's Apollo 13. i hope to find an Apollo 11 filial one fine day. cn

I know nothing of genetics. I would really appreciate it if you kind of filled me in a little?

joey weed's C99 pheno runs fruity and slightly grape under halide and has the textbook clear headed energetic euphoric buzz along the lines of kali mist, but mosca had some potent pineapple and other phenos that ranged from stony to trippy. i didn't get much of a paranoid buzz out of joey weed's version.

i'd say in general cindy's going to be more of an activity and work strain than something you can blaze anytime. i really want to try the genius pheno of apollo 11 as that should be a lot more laid back and have at least some psychoactivity. they both have similar flowering times and original apollo was 50% cindy. the genius pheno A11 selects more for the indica hybrid she was bred with.

it's a good strain for breeding fast flowering strains with, especially if you want to lower stone, but i just wouldn't call cindy a favorite strain. it's nice, but trippier jacks etc. are way funner. there are a lot of middier hybrids that would be funner too. "happy speed pill" just isn't that fun to me. it's way nicer than getting stoned though.

cindy's a descendant of jack herer actually. she has a really long lineage.

C99's in way more crosses than i thought if you scroll down to the bottom of the page.

i have been growing female seeds C99 for some time both from their older batches and new and imo the quality is top notch! Supposedly female seeds have the original bros grimms genetics.
i would definitely recommend it to anyone. heres a picture of it 8 weeks into flower

I've got one in veg now, hope it is a good experience. Their Pure AK really surprised me, it is now my favorite bud of my first grows (Female Seeds Neville's Haze, Nirvana PPP, Sweet Seeds Green Poison).

ive grown about 10-12 phenotypes of C99 and i never encounterd this issue...
Then you didn't try the pineapple, which is widely known amongst breeders as having that feature. Not that it really matters, doesn't affect final outcome.

female seeds has some of the best genetics ive tried and are imo one of the best fem seed companies. Not to be foolad by their low prices.
I also like their honesty. Currently have som Female seeds Northern lights, black sugar and c99 couldnt be happier.

I do not recall barney's Farm ever having a c99 version. Breeders like Mosca seeds, Mortarebel ( with Sannies seed), Female Seeds, and TGA subcool have great representations of C99.
