however you are wrong about the brain cell statement.
the only brain cells a cannabis smoker kills is either defined by the pesticides on that cannabis, or the oxygen deprivation from holding their hits in too long.
cannabis is neuroprotective and neurogenerative so it protects and helps brain cells grow. especially in constant moderate doses.
but I still support moderation over abuse of course, just sayin.

Buy a cheap-o grinder if you don't have a lot of money. Even a plastic one will get the job done, not as well as a metal one, but good enough. Or if you can't buy a grinder, scissors work, especially smaller pairs. And if you don't have a single pair of scissors in your house, grow your pointer and thumb nails out just enough to where they stick out over the tip of your fingers and use your nails to cut it up.
I can break down a nice nug just as good as a grinder can with my 2 fingernails, you just cut into the and take a little piece off and lightly crumble it between your fingers, using your 2 relatively long and sharp fingernails every once in a while to grind it even better. My grinder has sat in my drawer for at least a couple months now, I just find it easier to use your fingers/fingernails and/or scissors, although there are a couple advantages to using a grinder such as kief build up, etc.

Or if you mean how do you break up weed as in, do you break it into a fine dust like you're getting ready to snort it, or do you like yours clumpy like a lumpy shit, then I'd say crumble it until it looks like parsley. Breaking the weed up allows for better airflow as apposed to just sticking a bud in the bowl, plus it doesn't burn as fast nor does it stay lit as long as an actual bud. (Tested multiple times haha) Plus since it's broken up it allows for the smoke to emerge from the glorious crumbled bud uninhibited as opposed to a dense bud holding it in.
