These are the actual updated policies that DHS uses. Page 2 states: "There are no hourly work participation requirements for the Food Assistance Program."

There is a question on the application that asks if you turned down employment in the past 30 days, and college students must work at least 20 hours to be eligible.

Other than that there are no work requirements.

Oh you mean those people who are "so poor" yet always have the newest kicks and clothes, flat screen tv w/ cable, broadband, etc.

Yeah, they're so poor and needy. Noone needs to go hungry in the 21st century, but people need to learn to live within their means, something sadly lost since the IPhone generation came along.

When I couldn't find a job I never applied for anything but that was ONLY because of my mom, still should've applied for them tho. I prolly could use them now too, and no I have a bulky 20 year old TV that we got on Craigslist, no cable, no internet, clothes are cheap if you go to Burlington and my shoes are nice but only wear them for job interviews, have to have some sort of apperence. I also give myself my own hair cuts and the nice clothes I do have are only about a week worth so I keep it simple. Did I mention I live in a side by side dueplex?

The iphone generation is to blame? I am assuming you mean people 18-35 or so? I love how the older folks, who grew up and came of age during the most prosperous time in the nation's history, who then turned around and ran the country into the ground blame young people. The people with no power who were children or not even born when the out of control debt and government spending began.
