this is the way of the world. most men who crave power should not have it and men who dont are the ones better suited for the job phychologically. im not saying everyone was good then and everyone is bad now. that would be silly. but the percentages of evil people in power now is definetely worse than back then as far as plain and simple shameless greed go. things will continue to worsen until there is turning of the wheel and change this will happen maybe in 10 years maybe in 60 but it will. people in america and elsewhere are very frustrated currently. it sounds extreme but i understand why (i think it was jefferson that said the quote about the liberty tree). there needs to be a change of goverment every twenty years or so to keep things truely free because absolute power corrupts absolutely this seems to be true at least of the people who crave it one. group of people should never be in power for too long it always ends badly. history can be quite depressing thanks for the rep

I'm uncertain about the time frame but completely agree with the sentiment and prediction. It was Jefferson talking about the tree. He also said that an armed rebellion is necessary every 50 years or so. Doubt he could even get elected dogcatcher now.
