How many innocent lives are your guns worth?

I'm Sally Struthers, noted celebrity Drunk Driver, Pill Popper, and tertiary performer on a sit-com from the 70's, and I'm here to ask for your help on behalf of Think of the Children.

Every day millions of children go through their lives with Nobody To Think About Them! I'ts shocking, I know, but with your help we can stop this epidemic of uncontemplated children.

This is Kwame, he lives in war torn Liberia, and from the moment he wakes up, till he goes to bed, Nobody thinks about him.
His parents are so busy working their farm, and tending to the needs of Kwame and his 3 brothers and sisters, that they never get a chance to sit down and Really Think about him.
The kind of deep contemplation that really proves that you care. Even in his school, Kwame's teachers are too busy preparing lessons and teaching to take the time to Really Think
about Kwame or any of the dozens of other children in their care. Even his Government is too busy fending off Leftist Guerrillas and Slavers to give Kwame and the other children in his
position the deep consideration and pointless musing that they deserve.

But YOU can help.
Join up with Think of the Children and our crusade to ensure that Every Child is pondered, mulled over and contemplated like they deserve. For the low price of just a few minutes a day
you can adopt a child to Think About just like Kwame.

Dont let your idle daydreams and useless navel gazing go to waste! Use those wasted moments to Think of the Children, for a better tomorrow.

Doesnt Kwame deserve a few moments of your time to ponder his life?

If you have an empty head, and no worthwhile thoughts to keep in it, YOU can help.
Send in your useless thoughts today.

hummm, it depends on the life. I would be willing to trade at least a few of them for the life of a cute 18 year old, its a poor trade as far as an investment and used women have almost no re-sale value.

There are radical ideas on both sides of the spectrum. Usually the people with the most irrational ideas are all ignorant. Firearm violence is far less of a threat to humanity than malpractice yet we accept a certain fallout to have doctors around, because we need them. The fact is there are always two sides of every coin but we all need money. Realistically it would take 100 years of oppressive government to get anywhere near all the firearms from the civilians, so that will never happen. We do in fact need more restrictive criteria for firearms sales, but no amount of criteria can prevent a person from losing it an killing someone. Every person has the ability to hurt others or we wouldn't be the top of the food chain. Cave men didn't have muskets so they made spears, the same goes for a human with ill intent. You'll be happy we all have firearms when China comes calling for its debt!

What do you need a gun for?

You're 27, you go to the gym, and you run a roofing crew? :-)

Generally speaking, what you're asking for isn't a ban on guns. What you're asking for is a government monopoly on guns. A government that considers it acceptable to kill children, routinely fucks up swat raids which leads to shooting innocent family members/pets at the wrong address, considers 135 shots fired at two unarmed individuals acceptable behavior and responds to questions with wonderful things like "Well that's just how many bullets they had in their clip."

The real question is, do you really feel safer with an incompetent government as your last line of defense?

Yes, a lot of people are stupid and do dumb things. When we strip rights, we somehow feel like we've done a great thing preventing idiots from hurting people. At the end of the day, it isn't the governments job to bubble wrap the world for us.

For the record, on a personal level I hate guns. I hate that I or anyone else would ever need one. We live in a shitty world though.

They don't ever talk about any reasonable means of actually implementing gun control, just emotional outbursts such as the OP.
Reasonable means? The gun nuts screech and howl over EVERYTHING!

There are people that cite the inconvenience of having to reload a smaller clip at the gun range as reason enough not to pass any new legislation.

when it all breaks down and roving gangs from the city come out here to the country you're damn right I want 25 rounds not 10

How would you implement gun control? You could be a pioneer in actually explaining logistics if you can pull it off.

If you knew for certain that surrendering your car would save childrens lives, how many would it take to exchange your Buick for a one on one with Al Gore?

If I knew surrendering my La Sabre would save Al Gore's life I wouldn't do it. If I knew surrendering my 87 forerunner would save a child's life I would, even if I could only get a gift certificate to Olive Garden in the exchange.

Either way you look at it people will die. I hear that more people die every year from pen caps than guns. I am sure like 90% of those fatalities are children. Outlaw pen caps!!!

Stats please? And again with the comparison - it goes something like this.

the improper use of X causes death, therefore X should be outlawed - as though somewhere there is a thread of reason in the comparison.

The onus of reasonable is on the one that seeks to infringe

The 9th says you are full of shit asking us to be reasonable

You realize this was the argument about Jews

Just reasonable restrictions
Why be a bad German about this?
Panic fear economic uncertainty

Nope it is a Right and you are a bad American to support Federal infringement

relax, the "roving gangs from the city" will all have those illegal weapons La Pierre claims will be everywhere - you don't stand a chance, not with your 25 rounds and not with 100.

Besides, I am not sure about current zombie "killing" technology - does it have to do with rate of fire? weight of the projectile or simple accuracy. in which case, your smaller magazines should work just fine.

Except that magazine restrictions are not infringements on the right to keep and bear.
