I always tip way more then needed probably 25% on average. But when I see large party gratuity for a group of five I always tell my self "they fucked up right there"
It is hard work, and with limited employment options, employers will abuse and use and get a new one...maybe you never eat out then, and waiting is unnecessary job huh? Dont be a dick...
sorry sunni, but now you hate us all.Jus sayin'
That doesn't sound to bad if the average customer will tip 20%, I've never really given much thought to tipping before, don't misunderstand me I always leave a tip as long as the service was good but with it not being a big thing here it's something I generally have to think about, the only people I really tip is waitresses and food delivery drivers.they have a set wage, here its 2$ under min, so they get paid 8.75 / an hour , now granted this is not every restaurant
This sounds much more honourable! I couldn't imagine how bad I would feel if I had employees and they weren't even making the minimum whilst working the hardest. If the tips plus hourly wage doesn't meet minimum wage for the day the employer has to meet the quota of minimum wage themselves. Atleast in my state.
If the waitress/waiter does a good job serving, she will definitely get a tip.
If he/she has not done a good job, well you can kick rocks on the tip.
If the food is good I will definitely pay for it.
If the food is bad, or I find one hair in it, well they can kick rocks on the bill too.
I have definitely walked out of restaurants because the food/service has been bad. I have even taken my dinner plate with me while flipping off staff.
Good stuff, I think I'll go out to eat now.
its not like that everywhereThis sounds much more honourable! I couldn't imagine how bad I would feel if I had employees and they weren't even making the minimum whilst working the hardest.
and every fast food place has a dollar menu ya cheap bastard.. jk
I have eaten out more times than I can remember and always tip unless my misses or myself is spoken to or treated rudely. It is hard work, and with limited employment options, employers will abuse and use and get a new one...maybe you never eat out then, and waiting is unnecessary job huh? I'm getting a bit pissed off here, Am I missing something? how is expecting a worker who works hard to be paid fairly ignorant? A hard days work for a hard days pay means you work hard you get paid for it regardless!!! not at the whim of others, which I believe to be unfair!

^^^^^agreed Chewy

no worries mate I thought I may have been going mad then for a second.no,I'm not pissed.I must 've read wrong as sunni said.
Yeah, same in China. It's actually considered rude to tip people in China. They apparently view it as you thinking the relationship is purely a financial one.i got a tattoo while i was in spain.. normally in the us, i'd tip my artist a good $50- $100 depending on how much the tatt costs and how long the worked on it, etc, etc.
now my tatt was like $400 euro or so i think, and i was trying to give my artist another 80 on top of it, and he simply refused it.. i was shocked.. then when the owner rang me up, i tried to leave the money again for the guy but the cashier lady told me that he refused it again...
it seems that tipping is taken much differently depending on where in the world you are..
