Looking at Mandala Seeds: Beyond the Brain or Krystalica - which one?

Looking to make a seed purchase and have been hearing good things about the Mandala seed bank. I am looking for a sativa-dominant hybrid and am thinking about either Beyond the Brain or Krystalica. Anyone out there have experience growing these two? What are your experiences with one or both strains? Recommendation on a different sativa-dominant? How did they smoke?

Have some BYB and Satori beans but I haven't sprouted them. Research indicates winners. I'd probably go Satori first.

Keeping it in the family, huh. Nice! I would be interested in hearing how the two stand up side by side considering the lineage. Good luck on the grows!

I have run beyond the brain and satori. Both are great, but if you get BTB get ready for some LOOOOONG flowering times on the haze dominant expressions. My pheno likes to go 14 weeks or more (I think, I had to chop the first one down early at around 12 weeks because she was just too fucking big) seems to be a monster yield of great haze bud, though. I flowered my current flowering girl as a 8" clone and she is around 4' tall and just starting to seriously bud.

Sounds like your girl(s) are the tall pheno. I am hearing big yields with these girls. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Thanks for the feedback!

Wow, that was fast, just five day turnaround time. Got my seeds in the mail, very discreet outer and inner packaging. Ordered Hashberry and Beyond the Brain and they threw in 4 Cill OM seeds as a gift. Seeds going into soil this week.

beyond the brain is a strain i've considered in the absence of 8 miles high which is #4 favorite for now, but THE strain i'd want for desert island blazing. kristalica sounds nice and maybe even similar to 8 miles high which is a nice mellow balanced high, but i'd like to try something trippier, especially for breeding and satori is in one member's top two along with ace golden tiger. a cross with that and columbian/haze can't be shabby.

i tried hashberry too, but didn't like how skunk that got and cut it down early, but seem to remember it having a better high than expected based on it's skunking.

you can bet a nickel i'll buy 8 miles high again though as soon as it comes back this year. FINALLY! i don't know WTF happened that it would be out of stock over half a year unless his clone mother died and he had to reformulate

oh alright! thanks for the heads up! too bad i just ordered jack f7 and a bunch of stuff at attitude though. i'll try to get some for my spring grow anyways.

if nothing else, 8 miles high holds a REALLY sentimental value as that was the first strain i could put a name to that really got me high, as in had psychoactivity, as the DC99 i tried before it was clearheaded and motivational and the haze x skunk was just starting to flower and my highland thai was just being a bitch i never got to sample anyways when it finally hermied.

i just loved it's fun playful high that had zero couchlock (where even potent, but motivational haze x skunk gives you lead eye) but wasn't racy and paranoid either, it had absolutely no impact on my energy level and even gave precise body control to it's happy high.

man i wish i'd known this yesterday! i wouldn't have bought a pack of third dimension for the newsletter. i imagine that crossed with lightly stony, very trippy and touchy feely jack's cleaner 2 to be a really fun high if the precise body control effect stayed intact, but would be awesome no matter what.

i've got more seeds than i can grow now. boohoohoo

Awesome! Have you used Mandala seed bank before? I've only heard good things about their quality genetics Selection on the other hand is a bit thin but I can only grow one or two strains at a time anyway.

This is my first go with them too. I do a lot of research before I buy, but I've got to say, there isn't a ton of real good reports on 8MH out there. And by that, I mean well written reports. There are plenty that say it's a good strain and that Mandala is a good outfit to get genetics from, I just prefer more depth to a report. I saw enough folks say Mandala does the job right in the breeding department to feel secure putting my money down, especially at their prices. Very fair, IMO

I have read enough reports on BTB and Kryststalica(to get a feel for Mandala's reputation) to have the opinion that either would be just fine.

Well not sure if you saw the earlier post but I started a grow journal today on my Mandala BTB and Hashberry adventure. Not much to look at yet but I plan to keep up on notes and pics. Would be great to hear back on your experience on the 8MH grow. Here's to all girls!
