So I am still refining my 1st closet veg room. Its small, 33"w 22"d 96"h, but I do have a lot room floor to ceiling. I'm thinking of vegging 4 plants in there at a time. I have already invested time, money and effort in building a CFL light box to hang perfectly in there and I have a few HOFLO for side lighting. Still, 4 plants in there is going to be crowded for light.

MY IDEA: Build a small enclosed box that fits snuggly in the bottom of the closet. Inside the box it will be neatly wired to house 4 turn tables out of newer micrwaves. Everything will still be wired into my timer so when the lights come on the plants start spinning. Aside from propper trimming, every leave will get the same amount of light.

What do you guys think?? Surely I'm not the first person to ever think up such a thing, any old timers out there ever hear of doing this?? Any feed back guys??

I would just grow 2 plants. I have almost the same dimensions as you. Unless you are going 12/12 after a week or from seed, I wouldn't recommend more than 3 plants in a place that small.

Plus with cfls, You don't want the plant to be much taller than 3ft. Unless you want to have hanging side lighting, and floor side lighting.

You might be on to something... Like I bet your grandma has a couple of turntables in her attic, ask someone over 50 what records are/were... ha... put a variable speed ceiling fan timer on them... Do two turn tables... and leave two plants turning and two plants not turning... that way, you can see for yourself which way is best, then report back here to us !!??

It wouldn't work for me. The way I have my Cfland reflector, I need creative placement to keep the kolas close without touching the bulbs (I am near harvest). If i let mine spin, it would be a disaster or lights would need to be too high.

those are fucking kickass!!!!

old turntables would spin too fast, I want to say 33rpm is the slowest??? but I like the idea of using some sort of a rheostat switch that would allow me to dial in the perfect rpms.

I agree that thing is awesome! I like to turn terrible idea though; I have to turn my flower room plants around by hand, because it's a little overloaded.

LMAO, plants seem to love being talked to and listening to music, maybe I could pipe in some merry-go-round music!! that would be a production; lights, music and spinning pot plants!!!

I appreciate your creativity.

Most micro turntables rotate at one cycle per 10-20 seconds.

You can always build thatboy's amazing Tokomak Grow later.

Good luck,

JD
