Why do Colorado/cali clubs have cheap prices and Michigan is soooo expensive?

Honestly I think in the next 5yrs we will have a good run against them. But they have the weather on thier side. Until we develope cold/frost tolerant strains, or master the greenhouse techniques grows during the fall yeah its gonna be a while. But im just getting my feet wet with this.... What the heck do I actually know?????

So If I pony up the place, will you folks generate the good med's for a good deal, so a good deal can be passed? I agree, if the folks here at RIU collectively contributed to a place where there is a quality standard, it would change everything here in MI.

Sharing techniques is kinda forbidden for a lot of master growers here I think. Its gonna take some time for a large group for a long time chime out prime buds and set standards with top notch consistency. And some over publicized MI developed strains will help heaps. Let some pot star start giving MI props on the green game. Its only a matter of time.... Maybe its been done or being done right now. I dunno kinda stoned and just rambling Its g:bigjoint:onna be a lot better here soon if you can roll with punches.

bongsmilie ...... Its gonna take another 10-15yrs for MI to be in the category of top quality good priced meds with Cali and Col. I really hope that prediction is wrong.......
In 5 years only the people at the top of this industry will be making any money doing this. My buddy that moved out to Cali 6 years ago started with 10 light spots to get by, now he has to pop off 30+ just to pay his bills and live comfortably.

Washington prices were always pretty nice to me, had to find the right places though. No way in hell I was paying 20-25$/g all the way through for Girl Scout Cookies though.. F that.

Had better buds from my buddies personal grows.

Details bro. I want to know 2 things-whats the fair price per oz from grower to facility and how do you determine top shelf? I can take 200 per and believe me it's a discount rate. If labs are the determining factor than I can tell you what strains are mine on ironlabs site. If I remember you're a defector from Joey C's spot, is that correct? Do you have a spot and more important do you have local authority permission? I'm interested.

Permission, yes. Defector, not a clue. Not affiliated with anyone.

If 200 is the fair rate, then that's that. Roll with the market, pass the good deal.

Yes, the spot is "had". ;)

The "top shelf" in theory, and model, would mirror the bottom shelf, the middle, and every other one in the place. One shelf, quality. The "best" is opinion left to be determined by the patient.

In my opinion any place charging that much for the GSC is raping people. My buddy has been selling his GSC for $225/Oz and its killing all the other cookies around here. No bullshit.

Cali prices seem to be a bit higher than up here in the Northwest and I think that's due to the higher cost of living down there. Power is not cheap in Cali in comparison to most places from what I understand.

Michigan is just doing some catching up. Soon enough they should also have some better pricing.

when I was in Cali running 6 600s with all the bells and whistles I was paying 1500$ a month for power. Here I am running roughly the same setup and paying just over 300$

No one besides the guy who said supply and demand actually answered the guys question.

The reason the price is still high in mi besides supply and demand is geography, when cali harvests along with Oregon and Washington there is a massive price drop on the west coast that ripples out to the east, the further east you are the less you feel that ripple, on top of that you have new york and Pennsylvania and Illinois all around you which consume some of the largest volume at the highest average prices in the country. Bud in ny still goes for 48 to 56 and even more in northern VA or South Dakota. Michigan acts as a hub and it's exports are to some of the most pricy buyers, plus your street economy thrives despite medical laws thanks to low income and Detroit. On top of this the weather plays a massive roll in the outdoor season which yours can't compete with 300 days of sun that cali has.

In short, lacking outdoor, east coast, high priced importers nearby with thriving street economy = higher than demand and less supply in comparison to the other med states
