lol idk man ferrari is all the same shit to me and way over priced for everything. i would much rather buy a maserati GTS with the ferrari engine in it than any ferrari. 125k brand new for a HAND BUILT car and ferrari performance. cant beat that! other than ferraris like all the GTO models, and the scuderia they are all the same to me. red, exotic, over priced cars.not really a fan of ferrari you say? blasphemy, lol, and i call you a friend, phooeey, lol..
the funny thing is i love ferrari, and i'm not a big fan of this car tbh, i'm not really feeling the ground f/x on it much..
Dissenting opinion. The 458 returned Ferrari to its one-time status of building the cars to beat. It's almost untouchable in its class. cnlol idk man ferrari is all the same shit to me and way over priced for everything. i would much rather buy a maserati GTS with the ferrari engine in it than any ferrari. 125k brand new for a HAND BUILT car and ferrari performance. cant beat that! other than ferraris like all the GTO models, and the scuderia they are all the same to me. red, exotic, over priced cars.
ah ok the 458 is nice as well. MOST ferarris are the same thing to me though. there are those special ones i like i just didnt name them all there lol. and its because i cant remember all them damn numbersDissenting opinion. I'm a little bothered by the two-tier Ferrari system. Until the 458, the only world-class Ferraris were the super-limited models, like the GTOs you mentioned or the Superamericas of the '50s. Then the F40 through what's that new one, the LePew? cnah ok the 458 is nice as well. ya that LEwtfeveritis is weird. heard its a hybrid too? ever seen ferraris electric car idea? just as crazy as BMW and audis ideas.I'm a little bothered by the two-tier Ferrari system. In this instance I salute its hybridity. (?) This is a performance hybrid unlike all the econo'brids out there, not counting such sillinesses as full-sized hybrid sport-utes. With V8s. cnya that LEwtfeveritis is weird. heard its a hybrid too? ever seen ferraris electric car idea? just as crazy as BMW and audis ideas.
that vette is from 64? crazy how much it looks exactly like the 70s vettes, especially when you think of what the vette looked like in 64.. pretty cool to see that ...http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/03/08/rarely-seen-corvette-prototype-to-appear-at-amelia-island-concours/?intcmp=features
As Chevrolet rolls out its seventh-generation Corvette, people who have followed the car’s evolution for decades may recall the many experimental versions of the sports car that never made it to production, The Wall Street Journal reports.
One of the most interesting was the rear-engine XP-819 of 1964. At the time General Motors executives and engineers were considering a number of new layouts for the Corvette that were exotic compared with the production model’s traditional front-engine setup.
While many Corvette fans speculate about the potential of numerous mid-engine prototypes developed as potential Corvettes, they tend to recall the XP-819 with less fondness if they remember it at all.
Now the car, which was nearly scrapped more than 40 years ago, is about to make a high-profile comeback. At least part of it will appear at the 18th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance that begins today.
Mike Yager, founder of Mid America Motorworks, a supplier of aftermarket parts and accessories for Corvettes, bought the XP-819 at a 2002 auction and later began a frame-off restoration. More than 3,500 hours later it is not quite finished. So Yager said he will display its functioning, drivable chassis without bodywork and hopes to have the complete car ready for next year’s show.
