Herb Man's First Grow (In Soil)

Alright, back on topic, was gonna feed them with Molasses (unsulfured of course) in this last month push, but forgot.

Gonna get some today (if I remember) so they can get their first feed on the weekend.

They have been on minimal nutes, to see how cannabis grows with minimal to no nutes.

This will contrast with my next grow, in which I will be throwing a lot more organic nutrients at them.

Cheers bossman! I made one cut early in & that was it! :peace:
Lol, with that little veg time it doesnt make much sence to do much work with them. I didnt know you do the small ones. Theres no time to do anything with those really. I got mine kickin around for months with nothing to do but look at em :) you know what they say, theres no one right answer in gardening. I wish mine were ready soon, i took my clones too early i think and theyre going to be huge by the time they go in.
@ herb man, pardon my memory but what type of soil did you put them all in at the start of the show, i dont remember :):):)

So. I posted that pic because you said
No way, not the same. Ill show you later the eveness that the mainline method gives you. Youll have an eveness woody. Lmao :smile::smile:
& to that I say if you look over at Uncle Bens Topping Thread, you'll see a spitting image of the pic you just posted. The SAME end result. No difference.
And I'm not gonna be a small plant guy, I'll be a 6 medium plant guy...Or maybe a 4 medium large plant guy! 4oz per plant perpetually.
That's what I headed towards! I'm just getting my feet wet. And my head right :joint:

I started this second crop just to supplement 1st crop, and did it off whim, which is why they got no veg!
Yielded just under 1/2lb from my first 3 "medium-large" plants ever harvested, and I feel like this crop of " 5 smalls" will yield the same! We'll see tho.

But since you had to throw it out there that you think it's a waste of time to grow small plants(like mine in the above photo), I too think it's a waste of time to grow plants with no veg lol. But when you top them, even tho they're on 12/12, they'll still veg a little longer...Just not under 18hrs of light!
She's 105 days from seed and had been on 12/12 all but the 1st week!
She sure as hell hasn't been flowering all that time lol!

And it's not about which way is better bro! We off that! :peace:, love, and chicken grease.

It's about learning what you can while sharing what you've learned. Spreading the knowledge around.
If you think I been callin you out or something my bad lol because I haven't and don't mean NO HARM!

It's just one of those things where someone says something, and you know otherwise, so you have to say you know?! :joint:

I never said its a waste of time growing small plants. If i wasnt worried about my numbers id grow lots of small plants in a heartbeat. Everyone knows you get the best yield per light with sog. And the comparison pics of UBs outdoor sativa vs my indica under 600w when his is done and mine is on week three of flower are, well, somewhat comparable i guess. Lol IDK man, his plant has four tops that are pretty even...and mine has 8 tops that are damn near identical. Well 6 are identical and two are a little smaller. Also if i tried to have only four main tops on my girls with a 60% RH well id just end up growing mold :) thats the same reason i undershuck, better circulation. UB would throw a fit if you said you trimmed lower leaves off ;) the only statement i really made was that my plant had a nice eveness to her from semi-mainlining and that theres no right way when it comes to gardening, oh i guess i did call your plants small but they didnt veg two months like mine so they are sog style which is small. I like big ones, my last plant gave me over three lbs wet lmao. But if i could id fill my whole room with a rubber pond liner running drain to waste and fill that bitch up with square containers with two plants per pot and run sixtyish plants in the same space and really stack some numbers. Unlike UB i dont need to be right, or prove anyone wrong to make it through the day. I just need to grow weed :):):)

Alrighty you guys up there, they are both even.

Big plants, medium sized plants, small plants, none are better than the other.

It is only a question of what sized plant the gardener sees as best for his garden.

Organic nutes or chemical? I'm heading towards organic, the majority favour the chemical route, once again personal choice.

Any man arguing otherwise is engaged in an exercise in futility.

Just grow the way you grow and most importantly enjoy growing the way you choice to.

Soil/Compost 1/3, Perlite 1/3 and Vermiculite 1/3.

What kind of soil you using?
I use foxfarm ocean forest with about 10% more pearlite added to it and then i mix in bio tone starter plus 4-3-3 at half strength of what they reccomend. http://www.espoma.com/p_consumer/biotone_02.html
ive never tried it without the bio tone but the guy at my local garden store recommended it for when transplanting to larger container sizes and its pretty inexpensive. 4lbs 9 bucks. The important stuff in it is the mycorrhizae, the same benificial fungi that great white has but for like 200x cheaper lol. I always see a huge growth spurt as soon as i transplant. Im a newb myself so i havent really had the chance to test it and see if it really makes a difference but i have a gut feeling that plants really dig it. Also if amazon is selling five pounds of great white for 400 dollars i would think that mycorrhizae has to do somthing good for them ladies right? :):):)

right? Lol, actually the best plants out there are the happiest plants and im sure sincerlys plants are happier than mine right now. I had issues with my ppm meter and made a couple retard mistakes with how much i was feeding them and....well lets just say i think they got a little mad at me ;) the bud is really good size. I think ill get around 6 or more off one plant which im totally happy with for my first plant in soil ever. Im just not so happy with the fact that alot of the leaves turned yellow because i was beating the heck outta them with nutes. I gotta say though. Those dudes in cali that grow those 15 plus foot trees in greenhouses....thats where its at. I feel like im growing little bonzais compared to those guys. :):):)

I can say that from what Ive seen on this forum from super stealth micro grows to all out rooms, BIG rooms. You all know your shit, if not for just growing your own to LST'n, SOG, SCROG, FIM, TOP, 12/12, 24/0, 18/6, 16/8, whatever you ALL produce, to me, what seems to be some very smokeable bud for $change$ compared to what you'd pay for from your DD. Keep doing what you ALL do well, self medicate and enjoy life.

Like I said man, if that's your goal, go for it.

For my needs and space, small to medium sized plants is where it's at.

For the next guy with greater needs, space and desire, monster plants might be right for him.

So every gardener has to chose what’s right for him and then go for it.

That's where it's at ;-)

I'm sure you'll get the balance right :)

I'm just keeping it nice and simple right now.

Just good old Soil/Compost, Perlite and Vermiculite.

Next time around I'll be adding Bat Guano and maybe worm castings.

Kind of seeing how good a crop I can eventually get whilst keeping it organic.

That's my goal I guess, good ol organic bud ;)
