cloning how did i do?

two of them are kinda small but they have been dipped in the rooting gel and i hope they will grow roots if not that big one should be there in the jiffypot with a 23 watt 2700k cfl to keep em warm, comments welcome (p.s first time trying to clone)

very small but ive made smaller clones before and they rooted, you will know how well you did in 1-2 weeks if you see roots you passed.

theres one thats a good size its 2 1/2 inch long the other were just small branches i wanted to trim off the bottom of the plant anyway so if they grow they grow if not i guess thats just how the cookie crumbles lol

you did good.....now the best thing to do is not mess with them
Clones really don't need much light but they do need to be moist

I'd raise the light a bit....spray the leaves with some distiled water every day or 2 and breath under the cover to give them some co2
depending on how strong the rooting gel is it can take any where from 7 to 12 days to develop a good set of roots

thanks for the advice man just where i live its cold and its cold in my room so thats why i thought it would be good to keep the light close and they are soaked with those jiffy pellets

hey i took the light away all together and cut all of the leaves in two after i took the pics, but today they are wilting and i'm not sure if this is normal help?

I'd keep them under the dome & mist them up to a couple of times daily.
Depends on how much moisture is hanging on the inside of the dome as to how much misting.
Looks like you did pretty well, but as mentioned, you'll know in a couple of weeks.

ive never had good luck in jiffypellets, they hold to much water,watch out for stem rot

thanks for the info! i've never tryed to clone before and i've heard that these work so i'ma give them a try if they dont work out then i'll try rockwool or right into soil !

Pic #12 - I don't see any condensation on the inside of the dome. You need to see condensation every time you look inside the dome. They have to have close to 100% humidity for the roots to peek out of the pellets. Good luck, BigSteve.

Cuttings dont need so much light as was said before. You may see them wilt soon. Keep a spray bottle handy. I never was very good at cloning in soil so I only use an aerocloner now.

Those look fine man, and I have never had a clone not take, and I keep them in my veg closet from start to roots, from a Jiffy pot, just use 2 or 3 liters as your clone domes.....put a little water in the bottom of the 2 liter, not the half cup holding the Jiffy pot, this will create your humidity for you...good luck

Could of kept the stem a little longer and glad you did a flat cut. It should come out OK.

Another trick is for you to scrape the outside layer and split the bottom of the stem in half. It can promote more root growth in multiple areas.

Oxygen for the roots would be your biggest root booster at this point.

Temperature ?
I have always used a seedling heat mat while cloning into soil. I started using it when I first began taking cuttings & have used it every time and have no experience "not" warming them so I'm not certain it is/is not a big factor.

am I the only one who noticed he flipped the clones upside down that's how u create a embolism, which kills ur clones its air in the stem. you never want to put r clones on the side or upside down that's a big no-no.

they still look like they did the first day i took the clones but they still havent rooted i'm wondering how long should i have to wait or should i just take this one as a fail and try again?

still haven't rooted? told ya you got air in the stem from flipping them upside down and shit.... once a clone roots it starts to yellow just a fyi edit: also your mother plant looks a bit too young. you want to wait at least a month before cloning other wise there is not enough hormones to properly re-root the cutting, as well as you need at least a node or 2 under the soil to ensure proper rooting one method you might want to try is rock wool and soil in a cup I have a 95% success rate that way and don't forget to water your mother 15 mins before taking cuttings it helps tremendously in successful cloning by filling the vascular tissue and lowering the amount of stress the plant has from cutting and use clonex and a clean razor or scalpel
