You can get the stuff at HOMEDEPOT/LOWES/TRUEVALUE for 1/4 less than the cheapest hydro shop or Internet sells it for!!!------the brand name is "REFLECTIX" you can find it in the insulation dept. It's an attic radiant heat barrier. The hydro companies are just throwing there name on the packaging and jacking up the price. I picked mine up from LOWES on clearance for 19.95(4'x25'). :hump: Spread the word.:hump:

I personally think IR block is bullshit anyways.

If anything It would "outline" your grow to a IR image, would be easier to see you IMO

What the idea?

Keep from escaping?

Is it a 'hot mirror' where its a 2 way mirror for IR? Lets it through one way but not the other?

(I'm usually trying to get the heat out of my room, not reflecting it back in.)

the manufacturer designed it for the attic to keep heat temps low by not allowing the radiant heat from your roof top to penetrate. My rooms are usually very tight and insulated(I use a/c and exhaust to vent my rooms.
The idea is that an infrared camera cant see through the stuff---(when used-the rooms look like any other cold room in your house).

I'd really like to know more about IR imaging techniques and the science behind these technologies. It seems like it could be both potentially useful or useless, IMO.

The same company makes a film that will block IR but is not a good insulator-----you can get it at home depot/lowes as well----I'm not going into names but someone made a negative remark about this stuff(which is ok) but I got to see one of their rooms they built and they had done the whole thing in black plastic--WTF???---. I have come across a lot of there book found babel on this forum and after seeing there "black grow room" it made me wonder if no ever told them that black is none-reflective and holds heat???. One of the worst rooms or set-ups I've seen. Just kidding---I failed to look at the persons whole post--my bad!!! :spew:
